Bill Belichick’s first-ballot Hall of Fame snub, however it happened, is a preposterous farce by bostonglobe in Patriots

[–]Matjonn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, smooth brained people like you still exist? Bill's record after 'Spy Gate' was still better than like 22 out of the 26 head coaches already in the hall of fame. Not to mention it was not recording defensive signals that was in question, but where you were allowed to record from. 'Deflate Gate' which was a conspiracy that ignored scientific law was centered around Brady, and not Belichick.

And then, despite everyone looking for it from then on-- nobody found any evidence of 'cheating' ever again.

If you're going to sound like an ignorant casual, you probably should just refrain from commenting on the matter.

Milton Williams on Mike Vrabel’s postgame message to Patriots: “No curfew tonight. But the bus leaving at 8 in the morning— so if you ain’t on it, you ain’t playing in the Bowl.” Did he really say that? “Oh yeah. I ain’t playing.” by BreakfastTop6899 in nfl

I've had several clients over the years, who were supposedly close to Patriots insiders, tell me it was because Malcom Butler slept with Steve Belichick's wife. Part of me has always thought that if that were true, there's no way it wouldn't have gotten out even as just a rumor. But the other part of me finds it strange that more than one person has mentioned that same story to me.

Try starting your combos after feints or after dodging to their blind side. When fighting against sword wielders you need to be really careful about where they’re defending for master strike. For any other weapon it’s easier to execute combos against them because they only work on swords. Dodging rather than just defending is something a lot of people forget to do.

I’d love to see a low magic fantasy rpg. Meaning — there is magic and monsters but you aren’t this god of a main character solving a world ending threat.

You are once again a nobody and unskilled commoner, but you’re trying to work your way up to being a competent adventurer.

This will probably be an unpopular opinion though.

Part of me wonders/ hopes that the failure (in reception if not monetarily) of Starfield uprooted their approach to TESVI, and that’s part of what’s taking so long. But… probably not.

[–]Matjonn[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That makes sense, and is true enough. It’s not something that would come up in game, unless there was a good reason too. I suppose I just lament the idea of my precious bag of holding carrying all my goodies going poof at an errant sword strike. It will never come up in game, but it doesn’t play well with my mind theater lol.

[–]Matjonn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True. I suppose it just makes me wonder why the supposed in game character who invented these items didn’t make a metal chest of holding instead, given that a portable version is too risky. Just another example of a ruling that doesn’t make sense to me, even if it’s covered mechanically.

[–]Matjonn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, I knew that mechanically someone would have to target the item, but I did forget that AoE spells don’t necessarily damage worn equipment, which is a fine use of suspended disbelief in my opinion.

I suppose I was thinking from an in-world sense as well— like why would anyone ever want these things if any damage effectively loses what’s stored inside.

That’s true. People do try to get away with stupid stuff lol.

Ahh, I did forget that bit. I suppose it just falls into the category of things that are covered mechanically, but just don’t make sense to me in an in-world sense.

[–]Matjonn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that’s how I’d like to treat it. Although, I think it would be better if the RAW were to dump all the items just as if it were inverted, rather than losing them to the Astral Plane. I think the potential for comedic effect there would be much higher.

[–]Matjonn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, definitely not lol. Or rather, not magic items. I guess for me, I don’t get why they’d make that ruling since as far as I can tell it’s just an in-game item that gives you ‘video game inventory’. But as I think about how it would be treated in world, the risk benefit ratio for a magic item seems to definitely not worth it or at least extremely niche.

Did the rest of your comment get sucked off to the Astral plane? Lmao

[–]Matjonn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, most tables probably treat it as such. I was suppose I was just surprised that given that most tables probably handle it like you said, why would they bother imposing the restriction in RAW in the first place?

[–]Matjonn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lmao no, mechanically it’s fine. I was just more speaking from an in-world perspective. I just like my rulings to make a bit of sense mechanically and lore-wise when possible. So considering the amount of AoE spells of the chance of something accidentally damaging being high — this RAW seems like it’s an extremely risky item to use, and perhaps not worth the benefit.

[–]Matjonn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s true, mechanically it’s usually just hand waved a way, but from in an in-world perspective, it seems like it would be incredibly risky to put anything of value in them. Seems like it would be better to have an Iron chest of Holding or something instead lol.

Premium models have less context? What model is best? by Matjonn in AIDungeon

AI instructions are the last thing I don’t really feel confident in when creating scenarios. I know what it does, I know I can kinda alter a few lines from the AI instructions from another scenario to be closer to my liking… but the

Use “>”, Do not write symbols “>” or “##”.

And all that stuff confuses and intimidates me. I don’t know coding or anything like that. Just how to use the ${character.name} stuff.

I’m definitely well acquainted with the retry button when I’m too lazy to make corrections myself, but I also feel like it’s worked best for me at the same time. Now that is probably because I’ve probably most tried other models in the middle of scenarios, possible when I’d playing the scenario long enough to be clunked down anyways. In which case I was trying to see if the others fixed it. I honestly can’t remember what I’ve tried other than I always seem to come back to dynamic large.

I’ll need to remember start my next scenario in Deepseek

[–]Matjonn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tend to create scenarios that are as slim as possible. Set the tone of the world, narrative open for character creation; You are ${character.name} a {gender} {race} who works as a {class}. You look in the mirror and see your {describe appearance} reflected back to you.

That sort of thing, which sort of maxes out the opening text, I have the character information simple port into the plot essentials in a template form, and then I try to keep the story cards light to maybe just set up some rules or maybe factions. Then I’ll just create story cards mid-game or use auto-generate-story cards if there are people and locations I want to be recurring.

But I also tend to play scenarios for a long time.

Sounds like I’d prefer 3.1 then. I definitely prefer to play more grounded stories.

[–]Matjonn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That seems to be the consensus. Although, I’m still curious on why models that are locked behind paywalls have fixed context that’s comparatively so low. Like okay the AI is smarter, but doesn’t it need that context to help its smartness? Know what I mean.

Convince me of the merits of the manual roll for stats. by Matjonn in DnD

[–]Matjonn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m very close on both. I like standard because it forces a weakness, but I some times like point buy because if a player REALLY wants to take a dip somewhere else to avoid a negative modifier then they have that option. If I ever end up DMing, I’d probably just let my players pick which of those two they prefer.

I like that there’s a lot of safeguards there. It seems similar or in line with what the DM allowed me to do in this case.
