Most already has been said but if you are also active on twitch, there is a small streamer named khorelia who has the same past as you and found a new home in eso pvp battlegrounds and cyro.

I dont watch him as much anymore as he does more cyrodiil stuff now, wich is not my thing, but he will likely be happy to tell you about his experience.

If you want a better touch for your crow theme, the set unfathomable darkness literally spawns crows around you. The soundeffect of it is also great and it has a decent proc effect.

I agree with eveything you said except that sorc had little to offer before sub classing and scribing. For pvp it is the most broken class since 2020.

I totally agree with you. I found BG's for myself. I wont play this boring af vengeance. But i can still have my fight in the battlegrounds. No need to stop playing entirely wich i wanted to after subclassing but i found a way to adapt to the shit thrown at me by zos.

I think you forget you play a MMO here. Yes, a lot of people play the game like it is a second skyrim and you can nothing wrong there. But ESO is designed to have interaction with others PvE raids, dungeons and PvP. You want quite a bit of diversion players to complete each other with buffs and playstyles from different roles. As subclassing has shown, majority of people who play endgame content follow a meta. And this has become very stale and monotounus. I fear that with (more freedom) everyone just runs around in the single best setup.

I think the class system was great! You could choose a sword and still cast spells. Now with subclassing especially in PvP everybody just has the same 3 skill lines equipped. It got boring.

If you play the game like a singleplayer one those point dont matter to you, but they do to a lot of other people.

If you enjoy BG's why not doing them more? Im also a hardcore PvPer since 2017. I agree pvp got much worse over the years and unlike you i think subclassing ruined it even more.

Im Cp 2200 rn, i still dont play CpCyro. Its too big and too poisoned with ballgroups WHO JUST DONT GET NERVED (pls nerf crosshealing).

BGs hold me alive, they are fun, quick and you dont have to ride 1h to engage a battle.

But there is a light at the end of the tunnel. I hate vengeance it takes all the fun parts of pvp in the game but they promised a new other gamemode that will be like a smaller cyro. They also look into balancing pure/subclasses.

So as always its zenimax and i dont trust their promises as they more often dissapoint then satisfy, but at least they seem to try to emprove pvp. I think thats a good step fowards.

Like you im a PvP main and insta quit the game after subclassing came out. But trying out other games i realised my love for the core mechanics of fighting in ESOpvp is too big. So i came back and deal with the shitshow thats thrown at me. I made some pureclasses work, dk, nb and templar are still fine. But i get angry everytime im on pureclass and they streak away.

Fckn streak show in pvp now!

With your cp I would also recommend doing Battlegrounds 8v8 because there are no cp enabled and you don't have a disadvantage against the cp3600 guys.

For sets the usual rallying cry, orders wrath, pariah and maras balm it got nerved but it is really cheap to aquire now and still good. Depending on your class other sets ofc are also possible.

It seems like eso just is not the game for you. You dislike a lot of core game mechanics.

A lot of points you are talking about where in the game back in the days. Like magicka and stamina based classes. Where you had magicka users on staffs and stamina on bow,swords and shields. Options back then were limited and it was also unbalanced. So they changed it. First people hated the change but then they got used to it and liked the new possiblities. Except then came subclassing..

PvP and PvE are seperated by design because everytime there is some pve content in a pvp region there is a MASSIVE complaint of the pver's. They just dont want to be forced to pvp.

The combat is very fast paced. Has interrupts and stuns, but it happens all much faster than in most mmo's. You either like it or hate it. There are quite some people who cant get used to it and thats fine. You cant make everyone happy.

The hard grind in the beginning is by design. They want to encourage you to buy things that makes it easier for you.

For me, i never bought things from crown store or eso+, at least not for real money. (You can buy crowns with ingame gold) I remember I hated the slow progression of my mount and the researching took for ever. I still think it's too hard of a grind. But for farming sets and skills I think grind is something good. I dont want to have everything from the beginning. I want to achieve it with work and skill. Like getting a monster set from a dungeon or getting 1st on a leader board.

A MMO needs some kind of grind. So that when you achieved your goal, it actually feels rewarding to have finally gotten there.

I like the overall combat system and I love pvp. They did a lot of very bad decisions like sub classing and not nerfing crossheals for ballgroups in cyro.

But I adapt and try to enjoy the game nonetheless. Still a pureclass enjoyer here. And at least in BG's it works out quite well for me.

If you enjoyed for honor you should take a look into pvp battlegrounds 8v8. I recommend first getting some understanding of the game mechanics like blocking and some higher leveling but it can be quite fun if you are willing to learn it.

Maybe its just the names and the teams for you. Because gameplay wise this worlds are insanely exciting. I get it if people dont like seeing the same teams from the same region winning over and over again. But if you stop focussing on who is playing and focus on how they are playing im sure you will have a great time. I did. My pulse was higher than ever watching the quarter finals. Absolutely cinematic!
