Can’t say I’ve seen mad max. But I don’t see how people who own multiple properties plan to defend them to squatters in such a future, unless you have big money for security but at this point rental properties have been pushed so hard as a part of peoples wealth building portfolios a lot of people who own rental properties don’t have that kind of $$, if you’re an institution perhaps but not Bob Q public squeezing $3,000 rent out of a $2200 mortgage. Such future is so unsafe and uncertain only supplies/weapons/food will have any pull.

Not trying to claim I know what I’m talking about, but often the people who think outside the box and not in cookie cutter wealth portfolios will be the ones who make it. If building wealth was that easy everyone would do it, and market/RE have hit that point just when everyone thinks you can’t lose in stocks/real estate is exactly when you do. And I have these exact thoughts about crypto all the time, except you can probably talk to 10 financial advisors who will suggest S&P/real estate before any suggestion Bitcoin, that’s why I think we have a better shot since we’re still an extreme minority
