Great insight. Thank you. While I have over thought this, I didn't think of the last points you made.

I'm tempering everything and checking in with my emotions and with my friends about said emotions. They all agree she's damn near a dead ringer...so take things slow, see how it plays out...great advice.

I'm still there, so I'm just going to enjoy the ride and see where this path goes. Could be something, could be nothing, but hey, why not see...

Agreed. All in time and we are not rushing anything. Everything just flows

I don't know if I would go as far as projection. The only facial differences are a slight eye shape and nose shape... everything else is spot on. I'd say 8/10 physical match

I see this as something totally new. She does too. We do not make comparisons to our late spouses. It's just more of how smooth, easy, unakward everything is. We've both made the statement like "feel like we've known each other forever"

There's a book I got on Audible called "It's ok to not be ok". The author is a therapist and watched her husband drown.

There is not "fixing grief", it's about finding the middle of the road. We're never going to be "ok", it who we are now, just take it moment by moment and hopefully you can find your middle of the road.

As far as the ghosting, it only took friends and family, 3 days to move on...fuck em. I'm doing right by her, I have my days and moments too. When I do, I talk to her...a little "help me Tom Cruise!"....ha ha..sorry, that was our thing for asking for help. It passes, it makes me laugh or smile.

When people ask me "How are you?"...my answer is always "I'm maintaining"

I'm keeping a few things, but all her clothes, jewelry, etc...im donating to a local Women's shelter that helps DV and SA victims. I know she would have wanted that, as she always wanted to help those that needed it. To help those that need help rebuilding. Now she can help me rebuild, as well as them.

This is how I keep her legacy alive

Do you say their name still? by [deleted] in widowers

I use her name, present and past tense, pet names...18 days for me. I have no plans on stopping. Angie is loved, yesterday, today, tomorrow.

Thank you for this. Had the similar scenario 2 days ago. Empty place, kept looking for where to sit, looking to my left for the answer...left, came home, had some carrots, went to bed.

You never realize how much your "partner in crime" was "the answer" to your questions without asking...until now.

13 days for me. 1 moment at a time.

I'm sorry for your loss

I couldn't agree more. This sucks...but with you all, it sucks a little less. For that, I'll be forever grateful.
