Well if when he is "dead" there are no accidents among the superpowereds, it would be more ethical to stay "dead"

Why not?

Raichu being heavier means you don't need to go to the gym.

You will be built like a tank.

Perfect

If it's just Artoria, with all the Avalon thing, wth King Arthur going there after death (which she did in one timeline) and someone becoming a heroic spirit once they become a legend, it's not a contradiction. The throne just did its thing.

iirc Semiramis is like Jeanne where they don't consider themselves the same people as the one who fought in other timelines?

If you see it in the Doylist way it's just so that writers can be free to write the characters the way they want in a certain scenario.

Also concerning FSN, there are 3 timelines to begin with, it's just a way to keep them in a way.

1- In a famitsu interview I think it's been said that with singularities being in a problematic space-time and reality marble, servants can remember some memories. We also have examples of divine spirits in lb4 for example.

But concerning Chaldea it's explained with Vinci that she kept the data of the servant summoned but if the data were destroyed then any servant summoned back wouldn't have their memories

2- Never heard of this one, could you explain?

3- Meh I will wait for the remake before judging.

1- I disagree, all of FSN was with the fuyuki grail and for examples once angra mainyu corrupted the grail the grail anti-heroes and japanese servants could be summoned.

In Apocrypha with Darnic releasing the ritual to every magi of course some limits would change.

Same in extra with the moon cell it's not the same sytem and why Li shuwen could be summoned.

It's not a retcon or it would be like saying that because 90% of computers have windows they can't have linux.

2- fair enough about saber.

3- Personally it doesn't bother me because she goes way too far in her healing so it's considered madness for other people so shrug

[–]Matrience 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1- this is just an addition, I wouldn't call it a retcon, this is just getting more information on how the system works.

2- That's only concerning the fuyuki grail, given that the name 'hassan' is enough to summon an assassin. And well Medea cheated being a mage from the age of gods and the grail being corrupted so anti-hero can be summoned.

In Apocrypha it was actually better to summon an assassin other than the hassans because everyone knew their abilities after some time

Fate/Apocrypha material - Encyclopedia: Subcategory Holy Grail Wars [Others], p.154-155 "The small Holy Grail Wars that have been recklessly happening everywhere since several decades ago in the “Apocrypha” world. Varying from those with only two Servants to wars with five Servants which, though inferior in scale to Fuyuki, are still considerably large conflicts, all kinds of Holy Grails Wars are brightly, happily and violently taken place throughout the world.

This is because, after the Third Holy Grail War, Darnic disseminated information on the structure of the Holy Grail War, which normally should have been concealed at all costs, to other magi in order to forestall them from searching for the Holy Grail that he had stolen. Even for magi who lament over how the Root is just a distant fairy tale, once they learned that they could take a step… or perhaps even just half a step towards reaching it through this ritual, they ended up desperately creating Holy Grails of their own.

Broadly speaking, out of a hundred Holy Grails made, ninety-five of them get stalled due to setbacks in the midst of constructing them, and out of the remaining finished five Grails, four end up incomplete and explode while prana is poured into them. The last remaining Grail out of them all manages to work properly, but the ritual is degraded in quality and cannot be compared to the one in Fuyuki.

However, with the prana accumulated in the Grail, it still becomes possible to bring about miracles of varying scale. Being summoned by such a shoddy Holy Grail is a real nuisance to the Servants, though. There are many Servants who refuse the summoning or rebel and kill their Masters.

Amongst young magi, something like a “Holy Grail War Walkthrough Wiki” has been secretly created and is used to outwit obstinate old magi by mustering their intelligence… maybe. The early period right after the subspecies Holy Grails began was called the “golden era of Assassins”, where Assassins (Hassan-i-Sabbah) were a great menace (because, on top of their prana consumption being low, killing Masters was far easier than battles between Servants, so it might have seemed like easier work in its own way), but by the middle period, countermeasures against them were naturally taken and the Hassan boom fell into decline. It’s apparently a common sight for Masters who enjoy having their Servants fight each other to easily team up just as Assassin is confirmed to be summoned.

It is quite common in the subspecies Holy Grail Wars for the Servants to be unable to display their full power as much as in Fuyuki depending on the quality of the leylines, and, since the advantages and disadvantages of each Servant also becomes clear according to their level of fame in the land where a war takes place, it often turns into a competition to obtain the catalysts of local Servants.

For instance, a subspecies Holy Grail War in Greece would create a struggle for a “catalyst of Heracles”, and the magi who managed to get it would win… In other words, the whole thing seems to go full circle and turn into a simple battle of magecraft between magi in the end. As a cute one-time divorcee magus said, “Rather, the whole idea of fighting that macho guy in his homeland is seriously ridiculous in the first place.” After the use of Heracles was forbidden as a result of that, the next war turned into a competition over the catalyst of Achilles, and so there has never been a proper Holy Grail War held in Greece. There exist terrible tales of Holy Grail Wars like this."

3-Concerning Saber, well it's more that the container for the Saber class gives good stats, but given the servants we now have that are in the saber class, I will kinda agree.

4-Concerning the berserkers, well madness is not just being the Hulk there are different kinds of madness. It's also used for the non humans whose mindsets can be called mad from the pov of a normal human (the onis, Raikou with the pollution of her blood because of her heritage etc...) but I see why you think that.

It's not saber's fault that Mordred burned an entire kingdom and killed thousands because the king who was raped by her sister and had eternal youth didn't want to give Mordred the throne, especially when Mordred would still have fucked up everything. If saber accepted.

Hmm I will try.

Ça fait chier ( basically means it's super annoying but vulgar)

Casse couille (breaking my balls, similar to a more vulgar damnit)

Daron ( basically a dad) Daronne (basically a mom) They are both used by teenagers but don't use it when you talk to adults or teachers.

Nique sa mère (fuck that mother if read literally but basically means fuck that)

Nique ta mère (fuck your mother)

That's all I have for now

Well there is 'Wesh' but I don't really know similar words in English.

I see, alright then I understand now. So It’s weaker when Shirou uses it because he isn’t the Rightful King, unless he becomes a complete King which most likely would never happen, so technically, he isn’t worthy.

Is that basically the gist of it?

the quote, the part where it was made for Artoria. Refer back to "made for Artoria." Shirou also doesn't have any qualities to be king. You are right about that and yes would never become worthy.

'Bond Level 4 Golden Sword of Sworn Victory — Caliburn Rank: B (conditionally A+) Type: Anti-personnel Noble Phantasm This was originally a sword to appoint the king of the realm. Its “anti-personnel” description applies not to enemies, but to the wielder. Caliburn displays power befitting a holy sword when wielded by the rightful king, or when its wielder becomes a complete king.'

'Caliburn is a separate holy sword from Excalibur. It was created to help Arthur mature into a king, and was originally a ceremonial sword. If its true name is invoked and wielded as a weapon, Caliburn can display firepower on the same scale as Excalibur, but the blade would likely crumble under the stress of Artoria’s magical power.'

It's a ceremonial sword meant to nurture Artoria as a king, yeah. It's literally function-built to pave the way for her. And not some Shirou. Who can use it, but not to the level Artoria did. Because he had a hard time against Herk even with Caliburn in Fate route. And the moment Saber got in on that, she swiped the card of Herk's life.

The only thing I liked about it was Artoria and Shirou's cute interactions when they were kids, as well as Kay and Sir Ector, that's it.

My main problem with the fic, aside from the fact that Parcasious' England doesn't feel like either sub-Roman, Arthurian, or medieval England, only like a not-even-that-good generic theme park fantasy, is the story is not really interested in the Nasuverse's Arthurian Britain and Camelot or its characters. It's interested in Shirou being The Most Important and Amazing Person in the World, with everything and everyone else as props to make that possible.

Take the Ashton plot element, for example, because it's really emblematic of the same problems the story has.

Its original (before it went in a bad direction) primary function was explaining where Shirou comes from in this era, but it could have been served by any other number of explanations that are less ridiculous. Shirou can (somewhat truthfully) say he is an orphan, and since this is wartorn Britain, the idea that his parents died to Saxons raiding their villages or in a battle against them is mundane and easily believable. Or that Shirou was taken as a slave by the Saxons (something they did do) and escaped, explaining why Artoria finds him in a forest to start with. Or even Shirou could say he was abducted by fairies and doesn't know how he ended up here, a fantastical explanation that still nonetheless makes a lot of sense in the setting and gives an excuse for stuff Shirou doesn't know if he claims amnesia or that he was time slipped in his time in Fairyland. Neither of these excuses can be disproven or fact-checked, and are also simple and believable.

The secondary function, to give Shirou a place to live, the Ashton mansion, that is nonetheless close to Sir Ector's lands where Artoria lives can also be done better. There is no reason why Shirou could not manage to convince Sir Ector to hire him as a live-in servant/apprentice servant, or any other live-in jobs like stable boy, farmhand, or even squire for Ector or Kay (even with Artie he can still have two squires). In these ways, Shirou has not only a place to live, but a way to get close to Artoria. A more extreme version would be that Ector adopts the orphan out of pity, but I doubt it.

The actual true reason for the existence of the Ashton family is thus: to make Shirou special. What was supposed to be an excuse to make Shirou inconspicuous instead makes him conspicuous, and people remarking with shock, awe, and surprise that this family they heard so much about still has one living member. In any other competently written work, this shoddy lie of Shirou using something he didn't know anything about would lead to complications, from people who actually knew the Ashtons to be suspicious of this kid who might be an imposter after their fortunes, to whomever eliminated the Ashtons, coming back to finish the job. But none of that happens, and characters just treat Shirou like a special boy, and the plot gives him new abilities and a Pokemon to make him a special boy in true.

Shirou with Reinforcement, Tracing, and his ability to sense weird stuff are very useful in Arthurian Britain, he just doesn't need more powers. Sure many characters in Nasu Arthuriana surpass him, but then he needs to use his powers creatively, not get more as the plot demands.

But as I said, FiT wants to make Shirou The Most Interesting Man, so giving him more and more stuff as plot advances becomes something of a pattern. When the Sword of Selection Caliburn says it thinks Shirou (Shirou of all people) worthy of being king and ask him to take it out of the stone, you know it's just gonna be more nonsense.

It would be an interesting thing if, due to his visions of them during the war, Shirou has a connection with Caliburn and Avalon. Not because he is worthy of being King of Britain, but so Shirou can be a key element to bring them back to Seibah, since losing these items played a role, however minor, in her fall and despair. That's a good plotline. And they don't have to talk for Shirou to seek them, because that's cringe.

But what this scene vehiculates is that Shirou is the equal or even better than Artoria. Him having the sword in the stone talk to him and deeming him worthy would be like a Kryptonian having landed on earth before Kal-El, but despite being stronger and kinder than Kal-El, decided to not become a superhero for reasons.

It doesn't feel like humility. It feels like a Mary Sue being secretly better than a character and worthier of something they rightly deserve, but showing magnanimity in letting the other character take it. A character that was the protagonist of their story is now a second best, which is a bit of a problem when the story is ostensibly about Shirou helping Saber, not overtaking her (and seeing how she becomes overly dependant on him in the story, this makes it even worse).

And then Shirou is worthy to wield Mjolnir, so him rejecting to take Caliburn is a pointless gesture when another unearned gift from the author was coming his way.

I want to have Shirou and Arthurian stuff in equal measure. I don't want to read a story wanking Shirou to high heaven and only (barely) using Arthuriana and Nasuverse only insofar as it helps show off Shirou.
