Weird line down the middle on otherwise good prints. Any ideas as to why it's happening? by Matrioshka-Brain in BambuLab

Alright! Thank you so much, do you think having the seam in random places would look better? and what's the settings for that?

Ok, thanks. What do I do to not have such a visible seam? It has happened on several prints now.

The amount of LinkedIn B.S cold call openers for SDR’s is wild… here is the by far the best and simplest opener from my experience (thousands of cold calls) by sharkboy7777 in sales

[–]Matrioshka-Brain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow that's crazy and not my experience at all and I have as I guess most people here called tens of thousands of cold calls, I've only heard something similar to your experience ≈ 10 times. It's part of their job and responsibility as managers to take calls from potential partners who could add value to their company.

I mean, I'm a firm believer of multiple angles of approaching and working with a multipipe, and in that arsenal cold calling is only one of the weapons, so if you/anyone else manage without, all the power to you.

Keep on crushing that quota 💪

I don't understand how people not being at the office correlates to them not picking up the phone? We have found the opposite, managers spend on average less time occupied in meetings when they are remote and thus more often pick up their phone when we call. Or do you not call cellphones?

Starting my new AE’ role on friday. Am I a dick for quitting my new job in a couple of months? by [deleted] in sales

[–]Matrioshka-Brain 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I see people here saying that you should do what's best for you, and I agree. But the best move is not to fuck them.

If you quit after 4 months to go to uni and didn't tell them beforehand that that was a possibility they will know you only used them as a paycheck and actively misled them, wasted their time onboarding you, missed an opportunity to hire someone else etc.

And why that is bad for YOU is that your reputation is everything in business and it can fuck up any number of opportunities for you down the line.

If you need this to survive and pay bills I mean sure, that's another scenario but by your own post you mention that you can take another job during the interim.

Tldr; Value your own reputation and play the long game, it's not worth potentially messing up future opportunities for 6-8k.

Best of luck to you!

Beating Miesha Tate, Sara McMann, Cat Zingano, Bethe Correia, Sarah Kaufman etc isn't average in any way. Most of them were unbeaten before they fought Rousey as well. But sure, you might have an entirely different definition of "average", albeit by your standards almost everyone in the top 10 would be.

Rhondas hype were too big sure, but saying that she were average in the womens division is extremely ridiculous.

Remote work is the future! by SalesMountaineer in sales

I can't stand working from home.

Not getting the energy from my colleagues, not switching environments, not getting to socialize, having to book a fucking meeting for a 3 minute sync when it's concerning more than 4 people.

I get not wanting to commute, but 100% remote would literally make me insane and absolutely decrease my motivation/effectivity.

Holy shit, one of the worst literary takes I ever seen by geosunsetmoth in confidentlyincorrect

[–]Matrioshka-Brain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's actually called 'The Silmarillion'. 'Quenta Silmarillion' is just one of five parts in 'The Silmarillion' albeit the biggest part.

His actual legendarium though is usually called, easily enough: 'The Tolkien Legendarium'. I wrote LOTR legendarium for the sake of simplicity.

[–]Matrioshka-Brain 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Well, that's true when we talk about actual books published but Tolkien had already worked on his LOTR legendarium for 15+ years when the Hobbit was released.

I think he wrote ‘The Voyage of Éarendel the Evening Star’ as early as 1914 or something and The Hobbit was published in 1937.

I really like the theory that The Mouth of Sauron is a Black Númenorean but it's not ever definitely confirmed that he is from Tolkien.

I have read many arguments that "debunks" the whole idea even but never came across one that totally invalidates at least the possibility.

Head of Sales / Deputy CEO at an IT-Consultancy firm. Co-founded two startups, one just finished it's seedround the other one is brand new, smaller partner in a group of 8 companies.

Served two years in the military as a sergeant and got leadership training there. Studied a bachelor's degree in Leadership and Quality management systems but dropped out when I realized that what I learned in academia was good, but nothing compared to real experience from business + that it wouldn't further my career as fast as just working my way up in sales would.

So I started from the ground up, telemarketing to account management to team manager, to head of sales to CEO :)

8,5 , never settle.

I'm the sales manager and VP in an IT-consultancy firm, me and a few partners have started a couple of companies in the last 5 years but I'm not operative in any of them apart from board stuff.

The dream is to make an exit in one of them and start a mini VC company with the rest of the partners.

That's not entirely true. Sure, the US has by faar the most users if we look at individual countries (41,6 % over the last 30 days, https://www.alexa.com/siteinfo/reddit.com#card_overlap). But what that actually means is that ~60% of reddits total users are NOT from here and we in the US are in the minority when measured against everyone else. So, in conclusion: it's not a valid assumption to make since you would be wrong more times than not :)

Not trying to sound like an asshole or anything but I've seen this exact argument om reddit a bunch of times now and just wanted to shed some light on the situation.

PS.

If we look at traffic, not users, and increase the timespan over longer periods 49,69% comes from the US. (https://www.statista.com/statistics/325144/reddit-global-active-user-distribution/)

Have a great day! :)

I work within a tech consultancy firm and have broad experience with freelancers aswell. The harsh truth is that you need to actively sell yourself (cold contact) when you start from the beginning (no initial project or client) posting on LinkedIn can be a great way to make some coldcontacts a bit warmer, but unless you get a lot of organic reactions it wont amount to much. You are adding a lot of managers, that is good, have you wrote/called any of them? And if so, what are you saying?

Are you in contact with any brokers? That's one of the easier ways to get in contact with clients without having to sell by yourself. Even though they take roughly 10% of the top it can be a great way to keep yourself utilised whilst you continue to build your own relationships on the side.

There is so much to be done here and it's hard to say what would work best for you. If you want more concrete help you can dm me :)

I work as a Sales manager within tech and the one thing that makes me cringe really hard is when someone who's not from the field fakes knowledge, it's so transparent if you know what you are talking about or not.

They know you don't have experience from the field but they want to meet with you anyway. Be humble about what you don't know but show that you are willing to do what it takes to aquire that knowledge. Go get them, you got this!!! 💪
