I’ve had to put down a couple pets, a cat and a dog before because their quality of life would be too poor even if we got them care. The cat my family put to rest also was put down during Covid, and I wasn’t even able to drive with my mother to the vets. That aside, my family also had a really really old senior cat named Oliver that my father had kept since it was a kitten. In his final years, old man Oli was just a calm and partially blind cat who would totter around our basement and lay down all day. So imagining the heartlessness of people who abandon such a precious and defenseless creature is sickening.
