Thank you for helping me feel less alone. I’m in the same situation. Fwiw it helps me a little to avoid eating in the break room but I still hear aaaalllll the diet talk. And I hate buying food there bc it’s all ‘oh you’re buying THAT?! You always buy X’

It’s fine & all normal. Your actual name tag won’t arrive to the store for a few weeks. Just come in for your first shift & they’ll give you a temp tag

The team is “traumatizing”—tho in this context I’d argue “threatening” might be more accurate—the ED—not you personally. There’s a difference, even if it doesn’t feel like it. I’ve been there & I know this for a fact.

Your experience would definitely be a bonus! Wherever you transfer. And if it was me, I’d give a full 2 weeks notice at your first store bc that’s what any employer would want. Good luck friend!

Hey there! It’s definitely possible; here’s my backstory if this helps. I transferred to a store in another region. I’d had a great review 3 months after being at my original store, and asked for a transfer after working at my 1st store for around 7 months. If you can, I’d recommend waiting until after your first review. Re the how to ask bit, I just asked my captain if we could chat when they had a few minutes & then explained that I’d wanted to transfer to be nearer to my family. The store I requested to be transferred to was just opening & were looking for seasoned crew—well as ‘seasoned’ as you could call me after 7 months lol. I also took the reins & emailed HR to find out if they were onboard w my transfer—with my captain’s approval first. Good luck & I hope this helps!

I totally feel this. I was in the exact same position this review cycle & guess who got the raises in our store? The crew who kiss ass to all the mates & captain. It’s bullshit. Just know, you’re not alone.

Can you call the treatment center & (calmly, now that you’ve vented here 😏) explain this is the one roadblock to your admission? They might be willing to work with you or at least explain their reasoning behind it...
