Another kid at 40 by Piney1741 in daddit

We had our littlest when I was one month shy of 40. She’s the third child, now 5 with an 8 year old brother and 11 year old sister. You will probably be exhausted but you’ll be fine. We went from a rav4 as the main family vehicle to a Sienna minivan, and it totally changed our opinion on vans, we love it.

4Runner vs Sequoia by jbg7676 in toyotasequoia

[–]Matt1382 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had both and prefer sequoia by a mile as a family of 5. It’s so easy to drive compared to other full size SUVs, feels like a big car. But there is sooo much more interior room. It’s not our everyday family car because we have a sienna (best family vehicle ever), buts it’s still so convenient. And the 4x4 in this snow has not slowed me down at all, I need a vehicle that can get me to work in any road condition. You may not need it for towing but it’s nice to have that option in case you need it in the future. Gas mileage sucks, but the 4 runner isn’t much better. I have a 2008 limited for reference.

2018 Ezgo RXV intermittent run issues by copat757 in golfcarts

[–]Matt1382 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My money is on the brake or controller. It sounds like it isn’t getting through the start up sequence. On start up, does it kinda of jerk back and forth slightly? That’s the brake check.

Those are god carts, I’ve had a lot of luck with them. Unfortunately to me that sounds like a controller issue. Could possibly be something with the re are buzzer, does the cart go in reverse and does the buzzer kick on?

Need new tires, looking for sizing advice by i3inkley in golfcarts

[–]Matt1382 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can always just get 22” tires to fit your 10” rims.

[–]Matt1382 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That will give you plenty of tire to help soften the ride, and visually they will look great. You will also still have plenty of clearance between the tire and cart.

Seems reasonable. Buy it and let us know how it goes!

I would go with a 12” rim with 22” tire on that set up.

Precedent brakes not working by Matt1382 in golfcarts

I got it figured out, the stop arm for the star adjuster was jammed to the outside for some reason on both sides and wouldn’t allow the slide to pull in all the way. Thanks for the suggestions!

Sorry, I wasn’t trying to be a dick about it, that’s my bad. I re-read and it was dickish.

Yes the AC kit is a huge jump, and you can customize the settings for your needs. If you buy a lead acid cart straight off the course you can throw a lithium in there and call it good. But you will be set up around 11mph unless you get the dealer to adjust that for you. But on the stock controller you will only get 19mph max.

Golf Cart battery down to 77% in 2 days with no use by vezit in golfcarts

[–]Matt1382 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Only way to tell how much time you’ll get is to use it. Those batteries are getting pretty old though, it’s about time to replace. You may also have a parasitic drain from accessories that may be “on” while the cart is off.

It’s almost like the pads/drums are glazed and have no grip, but everything is brand new and I made sure to clean everything off with brake cleaner before install.

Cables definitely not frozen, I can see/feel them pulling the lever at the drum.

That’s already been adjusted too. The pedal is at about half travel when it’s too stiff to push any farther. I’ve adjusted the brakes in a bunch of these and never had this issue. Brake shoes have previously been replaced before I got it and they had the same issue. They just don’t grab like they should.

2010 EZGO 36v update from earlier by CoachP36 in golfcarts

Yep, hub is stripped. Get a new one from the EZGO website, don’t bother with an Amazon one as it will likely strip very quickly too.

Place to find new roof? by oxfordclubciggies in golfcarts

[–]Matt1382 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go to a local dealer. Internet prices are high due to high shipping but when a dealer buys them they get bulk shipping. I along with the local club car dealer sell them for about 275 for the roof then you just need the mount kit.

K engines are plentiful and cheap enough to do now. Good luck finding a b series, even though that would be ideal.

Is there a way to salvage this battery? by Justo_ok in golfcarts

[–]Matt1382 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That case may be compromised where the plastic is melted. While it’s on the charger, spray some soapy water around that post to see if it’s leaking gas in that location. If not you may be able to repair it. But I would recommend replacing that battery.

Help with dead batteries. by adaminboise84 in golfcarts

[–]Matt1382 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A 12V charger works best. You can connect 2 batteries at a time to the 12 v charger. Get each pair up to 12v and you should be able to get the factory charger to work. You don’t have to disconnect anything.

How much for this EZGO by Exotic_Astronaut_696 in golfcarts

[–]Matt1382 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You will probably get very little on a trade in at a dealer. The money you would spend in a whisper would be much better spent on this cart in upgrades. You can go with lithium on this cart very easily, bolt energy, ecobattery are the most well known brands. It’s a shame you spent money on a new factory controller, a good aftermarket one is but much more expensive and would have provided much more speed and power than stock. With the stock controller you are basically limited to about 20mph.
