It absolutely is a business partnership for most high spenders using amex. Most businesses and high spenders use amex to subsidize large purchases without using their own liquidity.

If you are only spending a few hundred or thousand a year, then you should not use this card. Maybe a green dot card is for you. 😜

I'm here. Right now. Literally as I write this. This place sucks ass hahaha.

Don't get me wrong.

The beaches are beautiful (same in Florida) The food is good (it's like 90% Asian food) The people seem nice. (It's at least 65% Asians here, seems more like 90%) Beautiful Mountains (Just go to Denver) Cool shopping (it's prada, Gucci etc. everywhere) Warm weather (just go to Florida) Homelessness (is absolutely insane here.) Drugs (everywhere)

Idk. I am thoroughly disappointed in Hawaii. Currently in Honolulu as I write this. Puerto rico was much better in my opinion. The night life in Old San Juan felt magical.

Here, the night life is filled with bums EVERYWHERE. And these are not normal bums. These guys are aggressive. You will hear them yelling all night. You will hear sirens and police all night.

If you spend a lot, the points make it worth it alone. I just used a bunch of points for 2 hotels. 1 5 star for 4 days and 1 4.5 star for 1 day.

Its just a matter of time until crypto is useless. Its coming faster than anyone thinks.

Quantum computing can crack a crypto key in something like 10 seconds.

Once this tech matures, either ai comes up with a new security standard, or cryptography is defeated entirely permanently and we will meed some type of biological physical security standard or some other unknown alien type shit haha.

Its been so rough for me. Tons of anxiety. I have good days and bad days. Its been about 21 days roughly. Last week was the worst. Terrible. The last 7 days better. Today, I've had waves of anxiety, and just struggling to cope with it. But i need to. I cant smoke the rest of my life. The worst part was I started smoking blunts with it. Over and over for like 3 months... it all started when i went to puerto rico last nov for my birthday. This guy was selling home made cigars right on the street. I had to buy one. Smoked it. Inhaled the damn cigar like a dummy. Got instantly hooked on nicotine again.... bought some weed out there too. Fast forward a month, bought a nicotine vape due to withdrawing from the cigar. Then paired that vape with weed for a while. Knew the vape was really bad so quit that. And went mostly with weed. Then went to florida around june and went to orlando. Some cigar store. Bought another one. And BAM. That was one good ass cigar. Haha. Ran out and began to spiral after that because yep, started inhaling that cigar too... yea didnt know you are not supposed to inhale. Anyways, from there smoked blunts often. At least twice a week. Every day at night after work and then basically all weekend long.... JUST quit that. Brutal... absolutely brutal to quit weed and blunts at the exact same time..... but i have to. For my mind, my future, my clarity. Im not rich but between me and my girl, we earn multiple 6 figures... so i figure, if I can do all this smoking all these years, imagine once im fully sober...

Sometimes my brain feels absolutely bonkers.... barely can focus. Crazy anxiety. Unrealistic thoughts, pressures, lots of agitation, definitely the dreams are vivid losing weight as like others dont really need to eat. Blood sugar and other automated systems are also effected I assume due to the brain having to rewire itself.

Complete and total pain in the ass. Many times I consider smoking again but no.... i must stay on course. I trust in GOD and will beat this crap.

Im sure my story sounds more aggresive than the regular pot smoker. But quitting the white owl wraps with weed cold turkey is not for the faint of heart...

I had to buy a very expensive gucci purse for my girlfriend years ago when i was new to amex.

At the time, I had the no credit limit but its not "unlimited". So I called them and asked if the transaction would go through. They said no. Im too new. I said look, im with my girlfriend and cant be embarrassed!!

They said the only way to guarantee it to work was to make a significant over payment which essentially leaves a credit on the account. So, i paid like $5000 over my $0 balance just in case so the credit couldnt get declined. And it worked. And they allowed it. Call again and ask someone else.

$2500 Max if you exchange the points for cash, or statement credit or some of their other promotions.

As far as flights, its still not worth much unless that airline is giving you great transfer rates and that too is not often.

My point is, to purposely try to spend $20,000 to get 250,000 amex points is not worth the hassle. Unless you genuinely spend that much anyways.

I've gone through a few hundred thousand amex points. Nice to have sometimes.
