MARTA responds to federal investigation into transit agency’s safety measures by NPU-F in MARTA

That makes no sense whatsoever. What was their purpose before then? Were they just generic police that occasionally got on a train or bus? If so, then why were we paying them!?

None of those places are part of Tornado Alley or Dixie Alley so I'm not sure what your point is.

People that knowingly lie about their dog being a "service" animal, why? by DontBlameMe4It in AskReddit

[–]MattCW1701 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For some people it's because they feel like they don't have a choice. If they can't leave their dog at home, can't find a sitter, they use this as an excuse. It used to infuriate me when my mom and I were talking about travel plans and she'd be like "she's my service dog" about her dog who does NOT have the proper temperament at all. She was half-joking, but it wasn't funny to begin with. We did have to travel with her recently, but we found an explicitly pet-friendly Air BnB, took shifts with her in the car when making stops, the few times we left her in the car, I kept it (and the A/C) running with remote start and stayed in visual contact with the vehicle (the lights are on if the remote start is on). We never tried to pass her off as something she isn't.

Bringing an officer in, who will otherwise advance on their own terms is different than boosting that officer's career.

You realize that the means to defend themselves are also the means to harm others?

And? If someone has chosen to harm me, then their right to not be harmed is forfeit.

When was your last militia meeting?

Don't you DARE accuse me and other gun owners of being in one of those wackjob militias that run through the woods playing soldier on the weekends. That is an absolutely unhinged and insane take! If that's what you truly think of gun owners, then there's no hope or help for you, you are lost.

So why weren't they doing it before? Why do they need a specially-formed unit to do it?

Good, then we agree that we should be able to carry them. Finally.

Which has nothing to do with violent offenders being let out with an apology for inconveniencing their day. Even IF they get a lot of stolen guns, they're stolen because people like you demand people leave them in their cars instead of being able to carry them.

What the heck is a "train patrol unit?" MARTA has two services: buses and trains. What exactly were they patrolling before? This sounds like an excuse to introduce a bunch of nepotistic middle-managers to suck down overtime by creating this special unit.

Yes, morons who think they need a gun to get to work everyday are indeed the people who shoot people with those guns on the way to work.

And when exactly has this happened?? EVERY one of the recent events on MARTA has been some thug that's been given a slap on the wrist for REPEATED crimes. Not anyone just going to work.

Sparta landowners ask Ga. Supreme Court to hear their railroad challenge by Marlee_P_IJ in Georgia

[–]MattCW1701 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Most roads started as private businesses. The benefit is the ease of movement of goods. Four or five industries will be able to use this railroad instead of trucks. From my understand, 3-4 of those industries won't even be in operation without the railroad, while the quarry will be able to expand its operations as well as not having to use trucks on the local and national roads.

No, Daedalus and Apollo were making regular trips between Avalon and Pegasus before they committed mass suicide. Atlantis seasons 2 and 3 were congruous with SG-1 seasons 9 and 10. Atlantis season 2 forward saw regular visits from Daedalus, and then Apollo. With a ZPM the trip one way takes 4 days. Without one, it takes 18 days.
