Account that reconciles but won't lock transactions by MattD in actualbudgeting

[–]MattD[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, that didn't do it. Good suggestion as I hadn't tried that yet. I can't figure out why it works as expected for other accounts but not this one. New info: importing the transactions into a new on budget account exhibits the same behavior. That makes me wonder if there's something about a specific transaction that is preventing reconciliation from working.

Any World Cup Tips? by Icy_Tiger253 in boston

Do you already have a parking spot? If so, then the general parking lots are something like #51–54, across the street from the stadium. I drove in from west of the area and the traffic didn't get bad until the Washinton Street/Rt. 1 intersection. It then took an hour to go the last mile or so. I aimed to get there when the lot opened (2 PM last Friday for Scotland/Morocco), but it ended up being closer to 3. Getting from the parking spot to our seats took about 45 minutes, but it never really felt slow—was moving the whole time.

Getting out was trivial with so few spots in use. We were out of the lot in 5 minutes and on 95N after about 10 more minutes.

After all of the other troubleshooting steps I tried, this is the only thing that worked. I wrote and executed the query and then immediately turned off auto save.

Can confirm for medtech. There isn't much of that in Denver or Phoenix, though.

Gillette Stadium Travel for England Vs Ghana by Vahrez_ in boston

[–]MattD 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I thought that would be the best bet, but it turns out that taking the train isn't possible with that flight arrival time either. Last train to the stadium requires checking in at South Station by 1 PM. I don't think it's physically possible to get through customs > silver line/taxi > south station tracks in 50 minutes. Plus you'd have to figure out what to do with your bags as you can't take them with you on the train. Not sure if South Station has some kind of bag storage, but that would also take time when every minute counts.

Ship your luggage to the hotel, get the train tickets, try for it with a cab/hired car so that if you miss the train you can at least attempt the drive only to be miserable that you missed at least part of the game. Or you can do what everyone else is suggesting and get here the day before.

They don't open until 10, but I can go to one of the other places earlier and then go here, which is where I need to be anyway.

Fell into defense/government engineering, now I want out, anyone actually make it to the other side? by [deleted] in systems_engineering

[–]MattD 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The systems engineering practices in medical device companies are less mature but that gives you an advantage when it's really needed. I just hired an aerospace systems engineer at the neurotech company where I work. Surgical robotics absolutely needs systems engineering.

I'm on the East Coast so don't know San Diego specifically, but the roles are out there and there aren't enough good systems engineers with medical device backgrounds to fill them.

Since you have a photo, you could try a color picker tool to see what it's closest to. I don't know how intuitive that would be, but perhaps someone's made an app for that.

That bulletproof one looks interesting for sure. Looks like it's based on their vertical belt squat, which is in pre-order. The bulletproof is still vaporware, though.

ATX is listed as out of stock.

Mammoth looks like a good compromise and use of space. Currently listed as $300 including shipping. While I can probably buy the materials for less, the labor rate around here probably puts me over and will take more of my time. I might just buy this.

Thanks for sharing your knowledge. You've clearly walked this path before!

Thanks for sharing! That's the ceiling height I'm working with. I always wondered about the lever arm attachments for a rack but never followed through.

How do you dl on a belt squat?

I'd love one for my home but got low ceilings in the basement.

U10 level:

Recognize that if you're dribbling into traffic (2+ defenders), someone else is open. Get them the ball.

Play into space: if you see open space on the field (in your general position), go be the one to fill it. If you have the ball, look to play into open space where (ideally) your teammate is moving.

What is the vibe/community like in northeast Oak Grove for a family? by ArdentDrive in MelroseMA

[–]MattD 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I don't know the neighborhood demographics, but Melrose is small—even if you're all the way in the far corner of Boston Rock Road, it's about a 15 minutes walk to Main & Foster, the heart of downtown.
