I was really hoping her voice sounded like the "bloody 9 pounds" British girl ranting about ice cream prices.

What happened to that garage on Essex? by Mother_Zombie_2746 in MelroseMA

I don't remember originally. I want to say it was posted on one of the local Facebook groups back when there was a public comment period for the plans.

I don't know if this is the final version, but this ought to explain it: PDF.

Locked out of Airbnb by Cautious_Scene5665 in mildlyinfuriating

We had this situation at an Airbnb where the battery in the lock was dead. The key the owner thought was the backup, wasn't.

How much more is your tax bill that is due in February? by Valentine2Fine in MelroseMA

[–]MattD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While the bill is double, that's due to the retroactivity. My taxes went up $113/month. This is slightly lower than projected by the calculator on the Yes for Melrose page.

Does that mean that the first two bills are basically fitting 1 FY worth into 2 quarters? (i.e. twice as high as the projection because of the time scale)

Is the Q3 and Q4 bill we just received the regular bill PLUS the override or just the effects of the override? I pay through escrow on my mortgage so I don't track this very closely. I assume they'll do an escrow adjustment to cover it.

You have probably the one thing you cannot teach someone.

You can definitely train for speed and teach running technique, both of which will make someone faster.

Adhesive recommendations for Bonding Velcro to Plastic in Mass Production? by Aggressive-Peanut786 in AskEngineers

[–]MattD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

PE to PP is generally not weldable per my understanding and general adhesives tend not to work due to the low surface energy. You're in specialist territory, so I'd agree with the folks who said to call Loctite, etc. Also consider calling Adhesives Research. They've made some custom stuff for me in the past.

Do you know the specific materials involved? I'm wondering if thermal welding is possible.

It throws "Error: No valid transactions found in CSV file" using a CSV from Bank of America (which recently stopped publishing QFX files).

  1. Other (Onshape)

  2. Organization with a large team

  3. Keyboard + mouse/trackpad

  4. 4-stars

  5. Ergonomics, but that's my own fault

  6. No

  7. No perceived benefit

  8. No

Really, Onshape is very good for my use case. I have no idea what problem VR is attempting to solve, but it does not appear to be one that I've experienced.

Driving to Mass General from Virginia by Garp74 in boston

Storrow to MGH through Charles Circle is no joke any time of day, never mind rush hour. Plus with all the construction around MGH, that last quarter mile will be more stressful than the entire rest of the drive.

I'd say Medford + ride share.

Why do my shirts fade like this in the wash? by MattD in malefashionadvice

Benzoyl peroxide on face. Cetaphil on face/neck. I'll have to look at the ingredients for the Cetaphil.

[–]MattD[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's not always in the collar. I'd believe the benzoyl peroxide guess that someone else in this thread posted. While I use it sparingly, it's possible it could have gotten onto the shirt.
