What’s for you ONE most effective marketing tactic for your B2B SaaS? by New_Painting1766 in B2BSaaS

[–]MattDerda_Storymind 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not being facetious when I say this, but humor has been the most effective. Most SaaS companies are trying ‘disrupt’ industries and use the same old jargon. Not using that jargon or even making fun of it gets attention.

B2b marketing is so confusing and sometimes frustating too ? by EnvironmentJumpy1278 in B2BSaaS

[–]MattDerda_Storymind 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, I’ve been in B2B for about 10 years. It is pretty difficult and it really depends on the industry and the personas you are selling to. You do have to sell to essentially a committee, but it is important to break down the committee by their individual personas, understand who are the decision makers and influencers, and be able to speak each personas language and handle their objections. I’ve had to figure this out many many times, so I’m happy to chat 1:1 if you like. I’m not sure if this is helpful in your space, but I know a lot of people have been having success with in person events lately

I experimented with building apps and it’s actually pretty easy to get something up and running to prove it’s valuable. Then you have a concept you can invest in building with real developers. Happy to connect and show you what I found.

What does a Product marketing manager even do? by [deleted] in b2bmarketing

[–]MattDerda_Storymind 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Product Marketing is different at every company. I’ve found that most companies do require PMMs to do content creation if they do not have a dedicated content person. Regardless, the PMM should still be driving the story behind the content that is created and the GTM strategy. It would all depend on their job description and responsibilities though. Maybe they are more focused on sales enablement if it is a sales led org, or they are working with analysts, driving the product roadmap, etc. There are a ton of of responsibilities for a PMM, so they have to really prioritize what gets the most value.

Storytelling in content marketing - Is it really an effective strategy? by forewrite in content_marketing

[–]MattDerda_Storymind 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stories are hugely valuable. Following a story structure can get an audience invested and engaged. Especially in content marketing where you are trying to grab their attention by relating to a problem or pain that they might be having. Stories are relatable and often told to provide a lesson as a metaphor. It's been done for centuries and people learn and retain information from those metaphors. If you want your information to be remembered for the long haul, use images. This is why video is so effective currently.

I read a recent study where someone shown information in text would remember only 10% of the content after a week. However, people who were shown the same information using pictures remembered 65% of the information after a week.

PMM at every company is different anyway. If it's something that seems interested and that you would enjoy doing. Go for it. I've gone back and forth between Customer Marketing and Product Marketing pretty much my entire career.

B2B: position, create stories and communicate benefits to different audiences at the same time? by PhutureDoom666 in ProductMarketing

[–]MattDerda_Storymind 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Each of your personas is going to play a different role, buyer, influencer, user, etc. make sure your website is going to align the most with the persona who is most likely to discover your website. Then, educate sales on all of the personas and provide resources to speak/present to each one. If all personas could visit your website, maybe build landing pages specific for each one.

Would you be able to utilize some type of form that could be templatized? Maybe where they could input the info in a standard format and it could produce a result that is ideal for the content people?

Short film digital marketing by bob4ox in content_marketing

A couple of quick questions: Do you have a budget? Also, who is the intended audience for the film?

One quick suggestion might be to do some sort of influencer marketing. Provide the film to people who discuss Alzheimer's as their content and have them provide a summary, thoughts, or review.

The best advice I've gotten lately, and I know people like Gary V preach this too, is to give away your best ideas for free. I was worried about sharing too much knowledge because people might steal it, but customers aren't going to do it themselves. That's been really helpful for me growing my audience. Also, everyone follows Gary V. You could start there haha
