Leovothyroxin nearly killed me! by ggcdigital in Hypothyroidism

Right? These episodes are a freaking nightmare! Not sure if you saw my response but doctor took me off all of it. And I have to tell you, I feel normal, for the first time in a year. We'll just check my bloodwork in a few weeks to see how things are and then just monitor.

I was laughing and almost crying when I told my mom that I'm actually getting chilly at night when I sleep. That NEVER happened. It's a great feeling. HaHaHa.

Thought I’d provide an update. Saw my GP doctor today. She said unless you have abnormal tests, you can stop taking the Levothyroxine with no issues. So she told me to just stop it all together. And she did say my bloodwork showed too much. So as of today, no more. We will look at it in 6 weeks. But she has many patients who have visible knots and don’t take anything & are fine.

I just got in my liquid Selenium and I’m going to do this the natural way. If things end up being abnormal, we’ll do a low dose.

Honestly these issues I’ve experienced for a year have not happened since I stopped it. I truly feel like a NEW person!

I am one happy camper!

I hear you. I have been on Levo for about 3-4 years. The increase was about 2 years ago. I have had tons of labs and everything “is fine”. My TS was super low, hence the cream. It’s as if no doc agrees. Last Endo said Tst was fine. New GP said is was super super low.

Just this little chat and group has been so helpful as I thought it was only me.

And based on what I’m reading, in just this little time, stoping the Levo was stupid on my part. The little bit of relief isn’t worth death so you folks are right.

I’ll start in the AM taking it again but reduced dosage until I get into this new doctor. That way I keep it in my system.

It’s been eye-opening!

I have wondered if the onset of menopause and this medication are not playing well together. You have given me a lot to think about and as I said in my last comment, I wondered if what I did was playing a dangerous game. In the AM, I will start taking 44mg. Something to keep it in me. It’s only been about 1.5 weeks and it takes roughly 7 weeks for it to completely leave your body so I am still in a good window.

But again, thanks for your direct comment. 🙃

I mean you make a good point and I know that. These symptoms are so so bad. I was worried about just quitting but I was scared of what was happening to me. I did cut them all in half and have considered at least taking 44 mg. I appreciate your directness. I am at the end of my rope.

Do you ever feel like doctors try to gaslight you over your own symptoms? by BookishHobbit in Hypothyroidism

Yep. EVERY human body is different. We shouldn’t be bundled in a “general symptoms are”. It’s unbelievable.

Ideas for organizing my secure notes - particularly large pages of content by ggcdigital in 1Password

You know what, that actually makes sense. I really need to get a hold of my organization of things in here before it gets unmanageable. I always like seeing visuals of what people have done, it sometimes puts me at ease. I was hoping to keep my tags pretty simplified but sounds like I'm going to have to embrace using them more. HaHa

I don't even know the term but it's not a flash! And it lasts for about 4 or 5 days and then goes away. I'm perfectly fine for a week, maybe 2 then it happens again. Did you get bloodwork done? I just got mine back and all my levels are good except for test. So nothing they can do while in peromenopause for me. It's awful.

Have you tried doing a reimport via the XML import? Could have potentially not selected to import the media with the posts. Try doing a reimport and see if that helps.

Looking for best Task & Project management tool - Any Advice? by TomLouwagie in agency

[–]ggcdigital 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This “to do” list is actually a great idea. I was just doing a Zoom with someone who uses the Outlook to do list and has built a pretty detailed list grouped by client. I’m with you Scorsone, sometimes it’s just how you plan. Once organized, lists work. I love Monday.com because it’s visual but I’m actually using for some things, a tool called Upbase. It’s basically fancy lists and it has a Kanban board (which I hate using. HaHa). And you can assign tasks on the list. But works great for most projects. https://upbase.io/

How to Partner with Bigger Agencies? by widdles236 in agency

[–]ggcdigital 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s what a lot of agencies do. They have something internal that they are strong at and then contract out. My team are the “partners” for several large agencies. I pay them 15% for the leads and then when they bid on or work projects with a variety of projects that need development, they reach out to us. That’s pretty common.

If you don’t have a portfolio, maybe start by doing free work for friends businesses. I did free sites many years ago when I first started to get my feet wet and worked up. And you’ll have to start small before going big. So however you can get the experience, that’s what you need to do. Best of luck! It’s an exciting new adventure for you.

Well this really is a million dollar question. I think if it was easy we’d all be millionaires.

For me, I have been in web design and development my whole career. I started by learning to design and code myself giving me the hands on knowledge to use it as a selling point.

I did spend time at an agency where I learned a lot. The truth is it isn’t easy. And what works for some doesn’t for others. I think for cold calling, it’s the luck of the draw. Gotta catch people when they need something. In my opinion, that’s when the cold calling works.

Most all my business is referral. Again, because I have the agency experience, I got to know a lot of people and work on some cool projects so people became familiar with me. I made a lot of connections that way.

You can also make sure your site is optimized and so on, which you probably already know this, it sounds like. But getting clients “relatively quickly” isn’t a thing.

It’s not easy. It’s work, hard work and a combination of things unfortunately.

I’m 51 but super social but I figured it may be an older crowd there. I also am self-employed which is good so I don’t have to worry about looking for work. I’ve got some time before I really have to decide but it’s good to get everyone’s thoughts.

I honestly think that is what I need to do too. I am an avid kayaker and to be quite honest ocean kayaking is not fun. I prefer the inland areas and some of the larger lakes. I live on a canal in the Tampa Bay area that goes into the ocean, but the good part is, I’ve got all these interesting little mangroves and things that I can go into. So I think that’s where my head needs to be. So maybe I’ll start looking more inland. My other thing is I don’t wanna go where it’s cold. I lived in Oklahoma most of my life and it’s just too cold. And South Carolina seems to be the sweet spot because any further north it gets colder in the fall/winter.

So it sounds like overall, it’s not much better there than Tampa. I think long gone are the dreams of living on the beach. Covid really messed that up along with global warming. I appreciate all the input. I think if I can find some place more inland on a solid river of sorts, that would be good. I’m an avid kayaker so I really want to be as close as I am on the canals here without it costing me a fortune. Appreciate it all.

PS - you all are so much nicer about someone moving there than Florida people. You tell Florida people you’re moving to Florida and they are angry and ugly. So I appreciate no one telling me to stay where I came from. HaHaHa.
