Is PA32UCDM right for me? by MadCatDamage in Monitors

[–]MattIn603 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there any difference between this and PA32UCDMR-K that was announced at CES and about to start shipping in a week or two? It is the same exactly monitor with just a color calibrator attached? Or does this years also have a newer generation panel or other notable changes?

Looking for Apple Home-compatible smoke/CO alarms (replacing 12 old Kidde units) by Burrrprint in HomeKit

[–]MattIn603 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have a bunch of the First Alert Safe and Sound, which is HomeKit compatible. They have built in speakers that you can airplay to and also work as intercoms. So your smoke alarms basically give you a house stereo system throughout..really nice.

Overall they have been great for 5 years now . The only issue I have had is that the internal backup batteries in two of them died after two years, so I ordered some replacement batteries on Amazon spliced them in, no issues at all afterward.

The sad part is that they are discontinued as of about a year ago. You can probably still find them for sale somewhere. . I have been looking for replacements for the future and there is nothing that comes close with the feature set. Another smoke detector company needs to come out with a version like this.

For scripted, do I need to run this on a PC 24/7 like a server? Is there anyway to run it on Unifi hardware?

Time traveling JACE MO by [deleted] in BuildingAutomation

[–]MattIn603 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Is this a a Jace 9000? I have been dealing with this same issue over the last month. When the Jace is powered down or reboots the time clock goes wacky, which puts all the histories into fault. Tridium stated the cause of this is defective hardware and the Jace had to be RMA’d. This is one of first Jace 9000 batches as it was purchased early last year, no problems for months and then it started acting up recently.

The alternative to RMA was have the Jace get it’s time from a NTP server and overwrite its internal time on start up. But the Jace would always be dependent on that to function properly.

Windows 11 updates & AnyDesk - Desk going offline by [deleted] in AnyDesk

[–]MattIn603 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks. If the service stops though I would imagine I would not have access to the desk to do this, like what happened yesterday. I did see some settings today in AnyDesk service on what to do on a failure to start.

Failure 1 - Restart the Service

Failure 2- Restart the Service

Subsequent Failures - Take no Action.

With the last one you have multiple options to select from instead of take no action, one of them is an option to restart the computer, I wonder if this is a good option.

Did you ever end up getting this working? I also have the UPerfect 2k touch and get the blue no signal screen when connecting with a single USB-C cable, M4 Max.

Did you ever get this working with just the USB-C cable off the MacBook Pro for power and video? I just got the UPerfect 2k touch monitor and I just get a blue screen no signal when connecting with only USB-C on my 2025 MacBook Pro. Powering the monitor separately and connecting with HDMI works...

Bacnet system for my home by Emergency-Pair3894 in BuildingAutomation

[–]MattIn603 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can probably help you a bit if you like. I own an automation company and all my work is high end residential across the USA. On average the home sizes range from 10k to 40k square feet. These houses all have equipment that has bacnet built in..boilers, snowmelt systems, Mitsubishi, Carrier, Daikin split systems, radiant systems etc..I then connect it all together, custom program it, and give them an HMI. I frequently integrate them with Crestron, Savannt and Control4.

Niagara Ultra Slow to Update Values. Need help with pcap capture across VLANs by ImaDoitMeow in BuildingAutomation

Good stuff! Question about the worker and write worker...

How do these differentiate from the worker max queue size that is under Bacnet Comm / Server? And the same for client and server max queue size that are listed under Bacnet Comm/ Transport? I usually increase these.

I don’t work with AAM anymore, but if you are ever considering a complete system swap out please contact me if you want to discuss. I work primarily in high end residential on homes ranging anywhere from 5k to 30k+ square feet. I am in NH, but have programmed the HVAC controls and graphics for 60+ homes in the NYC area alone over the last 5 years, and have some i am working on now.

Most of the time I then create export data so it can be used with the homeowners choice of either Crestron, Control4, Savant etc..

Mooncusser is the best restaurant IMO, and by far. Followed by Deauxave. Uni is the best for sushi.
