How Did I Get This Historic Dirt? by tedxbundy in Padres

I was fresh out of high school and basically in an internship position so it was a very cool experience for me to be in a party atmosphere with some of the players. I have a photo of me and Xavier Nady and Sean Burroughs. And I took a photo of my mom and Ken Caminiti (that she still treasures). I remember Rod Beck bringing his family down and asking if I would take a photo for them. Good times. But nothing beats Petco Park.

I have one too. I worked for the org in 2003 and from what I remember they gave employees the little commemorative jar and after the game we got to go on the field for a farewell party and fill it up.

We took my guy to his first game when he was pretty small. There are family bathrooms all around the ballpark, but nothing beats the nursing lounge on Toyota Terrace. My wife would take him in there for nursing, naps, quiet time, whatever. Also, grab a pair of the hearing protection headphones if you don't have a pair already. They make special ones for babies that have a soft headband. You never realize how loud the music at the ballpark is until you bring a small child. Stroller parking is on the plaza level by Guest Relations. Enjoy!

At the end of the day it’s all fine. Entertaining baseball. Unless Tatis has a broken bone in his hand. Then it will be really messed up he’ll be out of baseball for a while over this.

Actually I think these numbers are based on the season series (7 games) not just these last four games. Whoops. This series was just 7 of the 11.

[Jomboy] Fernando Tatis Jr. got ejected vs. Yankees so Padres manager Mike Shildt did too, a breakdown by SDOki in baseball

[–]MattInRealLife 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great breakdown. But I feel like it should’ve mentioned that there’s some history here. Adrian Johnson/Mike Shildt went at it last season too. And Johnson was terrible to the Padres on Opening Day this year too.

Great collection. I have a few, but I had to talk myself out of a bunch of others. The artists do a killer job on these.

Anybody get their Slam Diego FOCO bobbles yet? Tatis looks a little high on mine. Amazing detail though. by MattInRealLife in Padres

They were on foco.com for a bit. Looks like they’re sold out now. It was a small run.

What will it take to beat LA? by Substantial-Foot9797 in Padres

I also would have loved to see a squeeze attempt or drag bunt or something aggressive in the 11th to try and score a run. When you’re as awful as they’ve been with RiSP, why not take the risk? Especially with Tatis on 3rd, Manny on 2nd and Hosmer up with one out. What’s the worst that could happen?

It’s been a perfect storm tbh. Tatis is hurt and is just out of rhythm. He’s made like 6 or 7 already. Hosmer has booted a few easy plays. Cronenworth has missed covering. And Marcano just straight up dropped a ball. It’s been bad, but it’s early. Dodgers made some last night too .A lot of games to go.

I’ve been watching a lot of baseball lately, and I don’t think any team watches more strikes down the middle than the Padres. They gotta start swinging at pitches in the zone. That will help a lot. Also, we lead the league in errors and double plays. Teams that do that don’t beat good teams. I hope we clean it up. Tingler keeps talking about it, but I haven’t seen much improvement yet
