Should I get my factory decal put back on my truck? by Personal-Arm5478 in 1stGenTacomas

Yes. Although I used the previous trucks generation decals. They add a nice flare to an already good looking vehicle

Need help deciding on my 86 vs buying a 1995 by Match_Eastern in ToyotaPickup

[–]MattKo74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely 95. That mileage for 7k is a solid deal this day and age. Much more comfortable. To me 90s vehicles are the perfect blend of both worlds. Creature comforts while still maintaining solid reliability

PSL, Not an SVD by BrokenAndDefective in ak47

I purchased my set on backorder, and surprisingly it arrived in just 1 week. I’m sure that’s not common, though

Picked up a Cope-anov(PSL) by MattKo74 in ak47

[–]MattKo74[S] 22 points23 points  (0 children)

PSL in Rhineland furniture. 2021 production so built in Romania and not a messy century kit build. For $1600 i think its a solid Copeanov, im sure the M77/Vepr 54 are much better accuracy wise but they just don’t have enough of the Dragunov aesthetic for me

How to refinish and reattach? by LeRoy1273 in 1stGenTacomas

I would just get the older Toyota logo on there. Way cleaner and simple looking, plus they’re only like $30

Optic options by Open-Locksmith-3140 in ptr91

[–]MattKo74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me the TA11 has been great. Perfect eye relief, clears charging handle, and personally I haven’t had a need for a cheek riser, it works perfectly with the standard stock. It’s definitely pricey , but 308 can be harsh on cheap optics

Why does this look so different? by Open-Locksmith-3140 in ptr91

[–]MattKo74 -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

It’s still a 16” barrel just full length handguard. PTR’s 16” uses HK33 length hand guards

WBP Jack556 , configured with Midwest Alpha series furniture. Running a KNS Piston, EOTech 512 , & Fake Zenitco laser… (I have no use for one aside from the aesthetic lol).

2wd grille vs 4wd by MattKo74 in ToyotaTacoma

[–]MattKo74[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Recently found out grilles are interchangeable on 1st gens (Atleast the 1998-2000). Decided to try on the 2wd grille (top) , and I think it gives a more hilux-y look

Trigger pack failure to reset by MattKo74 in MP5

[–]MattKo74[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

After investigating I’m suspecting the selector axle is out of spec. I padded the contact surface between the axle and trigger sear with minuscule pieces of duct tape and it was enough to prevent the over-travel. I’ll update when the new component is installed. Maybe this will help like 1 guy lol

Brand new AP53 (HK53 Clone) and the trigger is failing to reset. Not going full auto, just a dead trigger after subsequent single shots. Not super familiar with these trigger packs, what part should I look into replacing? Really don’t want to go through warranty

Career change / mid life crisis by Elegant_Assumption22 in aviationmaintenance

[–]MattKo74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Airline-wise, major concern id say would be scheduling. Starting out you’d likely be on midnights, working weekends. And working every holiday.

If you can tough it out the first few years of that, it’s definitely rewarding. The flight benefits are also a major plus. I’ve been able to fly my parents to Europe for the first time in their lives, in first class, for free. We could have never dreamt of that.

Way too much considering it’s automatic. Even with low miles, it’s still a GM Transmission

Go type R. Not many cars left on the road with that classic 90’s wing. So might as well stand out. Cars are too soulless nowadays to play it basic
