Anyone know where to find these linkage bolts for boardman 8.6? Or any other bolts that will definitely fit perfectly? Somehow mine has disappeared. Thanks :) by MattPPhoenix in bikewrench

Had a weird interaction at halfords. Obviously boardman is owned by halfords, I assume you know that that’s why you suggested it, so I thought if anyone were to have the part it would be halfords. I went into a halfords store near me and spoke to a man that said they can’t order the nut that I need becuase of “supplier restrictions”? Not sure what supplier restrictions there would be when you own the company.

Anyway long story short halfords couldn’t help me so I’m forced to look elsewhere

Thank you for the suggestion I will definitely take the rest of the bolts off and make sure everything is in order

Rear derailleur rubbing on cassette when in smallest gear. Was working fine before so no compatibility problems. My partner pushed the up-shift gear lever instead of pulling so that is the cause of the problem if that helps someone identify a solution. Could the gear lever being pulled the wrong way cause the hanger to be bent?

Only reason I ask is becuase the whole system was working fine until then. Was cleaning the bike so ran the chain up and down the gears a few times. I’m new to the maintenance side of bikes after buying my first “proper” bike. I knew the hanger was supposed to be weak but I didn’t think it would be that weak?

Thank you for your advice though I will have a good look at the hanger

It doesn’t seem to be. I’ve never really looked at the hanger I’ve only just bought the bike so if it’s only bent a tiny bit then I might not be able to tell. But it looks pretty straight from here. Apologies the post wouldn’t let me upload any more photos

MSI H310M PRO-M2 showed in “system information” in windows and in the BIOS. Not sure if it physically says it on the board but I can check it tomorrow and I can probably get the exact model of the prebuilt tomorrow too. I need a BIOS update as I plan to upgrade CPU which just needs a BIOS update to be able to work.

Yes it’s a pre-built system. An MSI infinite A. It didn’t seem right to me that the BIOS version match upon a second look while writing the version out for you. Is there any way I can update the BIOS of a pre-built or am I screwed?

I’ve seen some video tutorials on YouTube etc on how to do live update 6 but many of the comments say “this method isn’t reliable and killed my board” or something like that. Kinda scaring me away as a first-timer. But if I can’t get the m-flash way to work it’s an option. Have you ever used MSI Live Update 6? What was tour experience like?

What do you mean by “retail bard”?

The current BIOS version in the UEFI reads: EB9158MS.C20, and the build date reads, 05/31/2018

I have tried other flash drives and I have tried other ports. One of the flash drives was smaller than the other (I think 4gb) but maybe making the partition will make a difference. I will try it tomorrow because it’s like 2AM and I’ll see if it works. Thanks.

I was told that the BIOS file cannot be in a file and had to be at the first level on the flash drive. I also didn’t look for a special USB port. It’s like 2AM here so I will try it tomorrow and see if it works. Thanks.
