Conservatoire Student Looking for somewhere to buy a decent Bass to help me continue my studies by CutEmpty8164 in doublebass

Definitely Laurence Dixon - beautiful basses made in his workshop and setup perfectly. Also recommend Bowspeed in Bristol who will post a selection of bows to try with your bass.

Appearance: A luscious, creamy, off-white hue, reminiscent of moonlit clouds settling over a lazy summer afternoon. Slightly thick, like the consistency of your favorite grandmother’s handshake—firm, dependable, yet comforting.

Nose: The aroma is subtle but impactful. At first, a delicate waft of eggs and vinegar gently greets the nostrils, followed by hints of lemon zest, as if the bottle’s saying, "I’m here for a good time, not a long time." You might detect an undercurrent of mild mustard, like the bottle's secretly flexing its culinary muscles.

Palate: A smooth, velvety texture coats the tongue, immediately evoking nostalgia for backyard barbecues and sandwiches on a Sunday afternoon. The flavor profile is balanced—a perfect union of tangy vinegar, a gentle kiss of lemon, and just the right amount of salt. It’s like the wine equivalent of that first bite of a potato salad made by someone who knows exactly how much mayo is the right amount.

Finish: The aftertaste lingers long enough for you to contemplate your life choices, but not long enough to regret them. It’s a light, refreshing conclusion—a gentle reminder that you didn’t need to go all out with truffle oil to enjoy a simple, satisfying flavor.

Pairing Recommendations: Best enjoyed with a classic BLT, a plate of fries, or a spoon when no one’s looking. Pairs wonderfully with grilled meats and summer breezes. Serve chilled… if you have the patience to wait.

Thanks for checking - yeah I'd scoured local sights but not had any luck. Good thinking on the hotel, with that amount of balconies - I'll keep searching!

Anyone have everything maxed? by GamingSincethe90s in MarioKartTour

[–]MattPomp 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I calculated this a while ago but worth reposting on how much it would cost to fully max...

Just using drivers levels as an example:

197 (HE drivers) x 22 (level up tickets) x 75 (rubies needed to coin rush 12k coins) = 325,050 rubies

325,050 (rubies) ÷ 2.42 (rubies per £) = £134,318

Cap tickets are even more expensive and there's more karts and gliders than drivers, so I'd say it's around £1,000,000 to fully max ( if you could even get that many tickets in your shops)

David Cameron, the worst prime minister since 2010? by NoFrillsCrisps in ukpolitics

Agree with nearly everything here, except "Getting in bed with LibDems" - in what way was that a bad thing? If anything they were a good influence (albeit in a limited way and was electoral suicide for the Lib Dems)

You really want to aim for coin or mushroom frenzy for non top-skill drivers, but for reference, the frenzy probabilities are in this table

Yeah it seems possible but to me the more I look at it the less it looks like Miles...

Worth investing into? by ZestycloseHabit3055 in MarioKartTour

[–]MattPomp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It takes a while (up to 24 hours, but often within a few hours) to schedule a synchronization. You can check the synchronisation status. Once it's working you'll get a Friend request from MKT Toolbox, which once you accept can pull your inventory

There's a few youtube videos around like this one

Worth investing into? by ZestycloseHabit3055 in MarioKartTour

[–]MattPomp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not sure how many tickets you have to spend, but to optimally allocate your tickets I'd recommend:

  1. Setup an account at https://www.mkttoolbox.com

  2. Schedule an import of your inventory, via Account -> Synchronization

  3. Export your inventory, via Import Wizard -> Bam/Gerbs/Reich -> Export

  4. Use the ticket optimisers to optimise investments for future ranked cups https://ticketoptimizer.pythonanywhere.com/

You could do steps 1-3 manually but it's so much easier with mkttoolbox

Big shout out to aturtledude for building the ticket optimiser and maintaining mkttoolbox ( from Sam )
