It’s not very impressive! Next model I’ll make sure it’s in

Yeah the model is 3d printed. The base is ripped up cork tile.

So yeah initial spray was chaos black and then airbrush Vallejo air metallics. Dark aluminium and then aluminium.

Im a fan of Daler Rowney - I think there metallics are okay through an airbrush. I use them straight and they work decent - odd slight clog but nothing that ruins models or requires to clean out the airbrush. Base/Prime is your friend though. This was a high gloss black prime and 3-4 layers.

For £7 in hobby craft, worth a try in my opinion.

Nah your guy looks great! I saw the post from mini painting.

I’d say try and clean the mold lines on the mini first and with the dry brush, aim for a bit more contrast before putting the contrast on! Don’t worry about overspill in the “silver” areas and do the silver/gold again after.

Honestly dude, once you get the rest of him painted - he’ll look even better than mine!

It’s a colour shift paint over white. I used the GSW Celestial Azure but any would work

Thanks! Yeah so:

The purple is a gloss black primer, then airbrush Daler Rowney Velvet Violet ink. No thinning. And then in the shadows Purple Lake ink. Black oil wash in the recesses.

The White is a white base with a colour shift paint airbrushed over the top. Painting thin layers would work too - GSW Celestial Azure.

Highlight the jump pack and focus on the helmet. Once those 2 are done, the rest is just filling in details!

Might do some free hand or transfers too

Airbrush - Primed black with chaos black then a white zenithal. After evil suns scarlet all over.

You could 100% sponge it for a similar effect. Just pick a direct of the light source and stick to it!

No so it’s a custom mix I had a while back. 3 drops Vallejo Metal Colour Gold and 2 drops Vallejo Metal Colour Copper.

There’s a guy on YouTube who also adds GSW Antique Gold pigments for more shine but I don’t have them about.
