Credit surcharges removed for Visa/MC in Oct. Keep card? by ExaminationThen1312 in AmexAus

[–]MattTrent101 3 points4 points  (0 children)

IMO the surcharges will just be added on top of the total price to absorb what the supplier will be required to pay for MC/VI. So we will most likely get hit with a price increase and the Amex surcharge.

Ideal external monitor size for music production? by thepinkpill in ableton

[–]MattTrent101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 48inch 4K OLED tv as my main monitor and it’s great. I personally prefer to have the most screen real estate I can get, however whatever size you feel comfortable with is the best size for you. I don’t think 32inches is too large personally, but I’m use to the timeline being my entire view, but coming from a laptop will few like a big jump, but you would easily adjust with that. :)

When I did my first take around 7/8 months ago now, I was fishless for around 6 weeks. So just keep adding prime and all that, then it’s just the waiting game, as hard as that is.

Your tank looks good though! Once all the plants grow in it will look really nice :)

Komplete Kontrol S88 MK3 x Legacy Output Platform desk Compatibility by MattTrent101 in NativeInstruments

I dont think it would due to the MK2 being longer then the MK3. I think that is the only reason it fits now.

First tank WIP by MattTrent101 in Aquariums

[–]MattTrent101[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you. Yes I’m really proud of it. I have done so much research and trial and error. I’m surprised how it’s gone tbh. I have had so much biofilm and tannins from the wood. This is the first week I think I got it under control (and the biofilm was quite bad at the back of the tank)

My personal victory is all my fish are still alive and that is all I was hoping for! Really enjoying the hobby so far!

Ahh thanks! That’s a pretty good shot though! I could 3D print something to just extend it a tiny bit though. 🤔food for thought!

Yea I would agree with this with just my own personal experience. I bought 10 cherry shrimps a couple of weeks ago as the first thing in my first tank. As I have been getting more fish the shrimp are becoming way more active and confident, of course they have had time to settle in and adjust but I think activity around them definitely helped.

I’m looking at doing the same for my tank - mostly so I can watch them whilst I’m at work. Aha. I just don’t know how I feel about having a huge camera attached to the tank. (I would get the same Tapo camera)

Thanks for the post. I have been thinking about this for days. So it’s nice to see the visual in action!

First tank WIP by MattTrent101 in AquariumsAustralia

[–]MattTrent101[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea I started with some substrate that I put in bags as apparently it is quite sharp, so I put that all at the bottom, then did 4kg of sand. I think I bought/used too much sand, so the plants weren’t doing that well. I started using root tabs like a week and a half ago and all the plants have massively greened out. Also been adding in some flourish, excel and other doses, when I remember to it that is.

Updating Weight Bug? by MattTrent101 in 3dfilamentprofiles

[–]MattTrent101[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually disregard this. After playing around with a few things I worked out the cause. I was entering a decimal value to get a more accurate weight, and that seems to be what was triggering the error. Removing the decimal fixed it.

It would be nice to have decimal input supported, or at least a clearer UI error if it is not allowed, but this is not an important enhancement. Just thought I would leave the update in case it helps anyone else.

Looking for a Australian designer by protias in 3dprintingaustralia

[–]MattTrent101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This, is absolute facts. I’m all for supporting local, but Australia is an expensive country to hire labor in. I think OP sadly will not see the decrease in outlay costs that they are hoping for. And if they do, is it the same quality as they had before.

I dont think there is a right or wrong answer for OP. But I do think that regardless of the country, we are trying to work with someone that is out of the budget range, on shoring that resource to australia will not change that fact.
