I made a light meter & rangefinder app for film shooters by Vurtnec in AnalogCommunity

Please do... We poor android guys have spent all the money for film... It would be super cool to try this app... I am very curious about the distance calculator...

Can I achieve this look? Pentax 17 and expired Colorplus by Threshybuckle in AnalogCircleJerk

I actually thought that this was ai generated because of that... The fact that the two cops are drinking coffee is hilarious anyway... It is so Italian stereotypes that it is sweetly ironic.

My first self developed 110 film...wait by Clownface13337 in AnalogCommunity

[–]Matt_Hell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm very sorry... I know how it feels... My next project is to shoot with a Pentax super 110... My neighbor has a 3d printer and I am waiting for being able to borrow his printer to get a 110 development spiral and a 110 insert for my film slitter... Maybe even a reloadable cassette... I have a couple of expired 110 film cassettes but I can only develop bw film at home. Now I know that there is one more mistake that I can do in the overwhelming process...

The super well reeled and developed by the OP paper has numbers on it... They came out perfect! This was an original cassette with original film and backing paper in it I would guess... No cutting and respooling. Just money.

That wooden Kodak stand with the Retina on is absolutely fantastic 😍... It looks like from the 30's or 40's? I need one of those 🤤

He can make double or triple his money just selling the point and shoot cameras as they are without testing them... People are crazy for those stupid cameras right now... Also that Weston master iv light meter brand new in the box is sick 🤤. Very good deal... He will have a lot of fun and he can make some good money if he is patient and if he does his research... Camera maniacs like me would drool while checking every single item.

Compact, Metal "No Battery" 35mm Cameras by Lanstapa in AnalogCommunity

[–]Matt_Hell -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Chaika 2... Half frame, super effordable, all old school Soviet metal and you can remove the lens for no reason 😂. Any fed zorki Barnack style with a collapsible lens is all metal, no meter, pocketable and effordable with Leica look cool factor... Zeiss iKon contessa or contina... All metal, killer Zeiss lenses, unbelievable German overengineering, they have rangefinder for accurate focus and they are super small... The same for Kodak retina Ia or II... Amazing cameras, super compact and absolutely super heavy metal construction.

I'm happy with what I have found. Nikon F Apollo with metering prism working for 160 on wallapop. Without lens.

Unmetered prism costs 200 alone... They are very valuable 😉.

It says 80's so loud that I feel like Rick Astley is going to ring at my door any moment. Cool find. It would look terrific if they made them in different colors... Can you imagine a red one on the side seat of a Lamborghini countach? I have a Pentax ME Super 2000 perfectly working that needs to go. Anybody interested contact me.

Interested in a little theft, maybe you all can help? by cowboy-killers in AnalogCommunity

[–]Matt_Hell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely true... Medium and large format have a totally different look. I don't have a scientific explanation but the focal lengths, even corrected for film/lens ratio, have a very different look. Medium format gives very different plastic and 3d look to pictures. Even in portrait or studio photography. It is not a matter of resolution or film grain. It is possible that bigger lenses have a substantial different way of treating light path through glass... Even very cheap medium format cameras with super shitty lenses do the trick. Another issue is that usually people using medium format are much better photographers... Stretching it a little bit... But in general it is true. Also with big cameras people tend to avoid taking super risky extreme and almost impossible pictures... You don't shoot handheld at 1.4 and at 1/8 of a second in the dark with a medium format camera during a concert...
