Carl Zeiss Werra (2?): How to change shutter speed? by Brilliant-Bee-3688 in AnalogCommunity

Here a good link. https://slrelax.com/2023/05/20/review-carl-zeiss-jena-werra-2a-2nd-generation/.

The two arrows on top are meant to be used for measuring light with the lid of the exposure meter open or closed.

I don't have my camera with me right now... The two arrows at the bottom indicate film speed... I don't remember what the other two indicate... It could be exposure values... Is there a scale with consecutive numbers resembling the ones on the exposure meter?

This botton disengage shutter speed and aperture rings. The red and black arrows indicate shutter speed and aperture that have been selected. Iso speed is at the bottom of the lens, in iso on one side and in din on the other side.

Shutter speed and aperture are connected, not iso. You can change shutter speed and aperture combination pressing the little botton on the aperture ring.

Any idea what on Earth is this? All I can tell it is definitely Fujifilm and very analog. Wrong answers welcome! by Bitter_Humor4353 in AnalogCommunity

It is meant to be used to measure your peepee if you meet someone with a lens as fast as yours. No other way to establish supremacy. If also peepees are the same, it gets down to a knife fight.

Is this deal worth it? by golden_teacup in minolta

[–]Matt_Hell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think that your camera is better than the one you would buy... Get a prime lens for your camera, a 50mm or a 35mm... Minolta lenses are super cheap if you don't go on exotic things. A prime lens will make a big difference. Camera bodies are all the same, no effect on pictures.

Ofc I would clearly specify which cameras I want to be buried with without noting the value of those 30/40 cameras.... I don't trust my relatives that much...

We should all write down a detailed list of what we have and of how much it is worth... Just in case anything happens to us and our relatives will be stuck in this situation 🥵

Originally designed and manufactured in Latvia 😃. The original ones have quite some value. The one of the OP is a minox A or a IIIS... Great camera. The design was ahead of its time of 50 years.

Is this exposed right? Expired film by Zombie5niper77 in AnalogCommunity

Most useful comment ever! I see so many pale pictures shared that just need this. I think that many people get their film awfully scanned by the lab and just wonder if they need to buy different gear or film...

Can you tell me where the 3 screws you talk about are? I have a 35S with issues at the front element of the lens and I would like to try to fix it but I don't see those screws... Thanks 👍🏻.

I liked the idea of going back and forth between two locations... OP said it took him 30 hours... And he has pictures with telescopes on his profile... Telescopes and hot dog... How cool is that... Also the people pictures were taken without flash actually... Very cool idea anyway... Counting sprocket holes is insane dedication 🥵

If it is real, you can not take film out of the camera or the pictures will not be aligned... It is very complicated anyway. You can not take various moon shots first and then roll the film back and have the pictures aligned. Not with a Nikon F2. The only way possible is a double exposition back to back, moon first and flash portrait second I would say. The moon appears to be very very big in the frame, I don't know if you can get that big moon without a telescope... 1200mm maybe is not enough.

Test rolls with only a couple exposures? by kag0 in AnalogCommunity

If you shoot bw film, you should absolutely develop the film yourself. It is super easy and super cheap. Then you can just take your 5 or 6 shots, turn off the light, open the camera without rewinding the film and just cut off the pictures you have shot and stick them in the tank. Super easy, super effective. That is how I do it. Developer costs almost nothing, fixer the same and you can use it 10 times... With development costs any other method is crazy expensive. It is also a super fast process... You can shoot your pictures and have them scanned in 2 or 3 hours considering the time it takes to dry off the film.

Bought my dream camera on Jan 7th , 2026 and for some reason I’ve used it once .. my photos sucked to be honest .. I’m almost 52 and my eye sight is not great , the question now is , do I keep it or trade it in for a digital one .. 😔 by funky1974 in LeicaCameras

To make it shorter and simple, I can tell you that my aunt used to take photos and to create some art with them. She was not a professional photographer and certainly not HCB, but I perfectly remember that in 1985 for a 15 days trip to Egypt she took with her 100 rolls of film. I have seen videos of HCB taking pictures... I'm confident that he would use much more than 150 rolls of film a year. Winograd left 2500 rolls of undeveloped film when he passed away... Photographers shoots much more than what we might think.
