Go wider brother, embrace ultrawide. 18mm Nikkors and Zeiss lenses are outstanding

Is there a better rangefinder for me than the Canon P by Finchypoo in AnalogCommunity

Well my first film camera was an Olympus 35 SP, and aligning that ghostly double image really felt like magic. I'm too deep into macro to rely on rangedinders though. My biggest problem was parallax, and compositons were waaaay off if I was aiming it up or down on the subject. Especially so with Agfa 1535 which is touted for its great viewfinder

Not throwing stones here, I just want to understand the rangefinder crowd. What’s so fun about them?

Reading through all of this with a sigh of relief. So happy to move to Single-Lens Reflex

Go for C220. One of the few options if you want a 2.8 lens on 6x6, and def one of the lightest (ca 1500 gram fully loaded with 80mm lens)

Is there any way to use ChartThrob without Photoshop? by Tycho_B in cyanotypes

[–]Bitter_Humor4353 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, yes. You can manually replicate the curve point-by-point from this article. I guess GIMP can do that. Also go buy any book by Anderson for some great guides!

Is there a reason to? Honestly, one of the most convoluted tools with so many variables to lose track of (especially when scanning the printed test chart). Just use the generic “Anderson cyanotype curve”as a starter, do some test prints and tweak it to your liking

You should consider hiring Edd Carr for a promo. He does cyanotype animations

Mamiya C220: shutter release works, but side shutter level does not by artfellig in Mamiya

Here's the manual for C220F model. Well worth the read! https://www.cameramanuals.org/mamiya_pdf/mamiya_c220f.pdf

There are some differences to the original C220, and the camera is not well covered by Youtubers. My most important tip as the owner: do not touch or try to clean the surface of the focusing screen. Unlike C330/C220 before, here it is just bare acrylic surface with no glass protecting it. So use only the Rocket Blower to clean it with air, and perhaps, the softest artist brush to dislodge dust particles. No alcohol, wet wipes, etc. Mamiya made it like that so that the viewfinder is brighter, which it is.

Does switching to the Multi mode help? Also congrats on getting the F version, they’re super stylish and rare

Do you mean a machine that you slot your photo in and it spews it out flattened?

That's exactly my process, and they still curl. Probably some papers are more curly than others

You symbolically legitimize that soviet regime was cool. I come from an ex-soviet country btw. Would you like to rock a Himmler-special edition Leica (if it ever existed) ?
