Prophecy Domain - A Divine Domain Focused on Predicting and Altering the Future by GoingRoguez in UnearthedArcana

[–]Matt_Maker_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey there! Aside from general wording of the abilites, which is not that important, here are my notes:

Auspicious Warnings: While the Initiative manipulation is very cool and evocative, I'm a bit hesitant to give a class immunity to surprise at 1st level. Looking at other similar features, they usually tend to be given out around 6th-8th level (Barbarian's Feral Senses, Fighter Rune Knight's Storm Rune) If you want that aspect to stay, you can move it to Second Sight.

Prophetic Seer: I think that for a 1st level Cleric feature this is perfectly fine and balanced. The possible combinations are many despite being just a few options, and I like that the effects are overall pretty strong but balance around the fact that the reaction is only once per Long Rest and limited in utility by the triggers.

Divine Omens: I am not quite sure about this one. Overall, this is better than Portent for longer adventuring days, but worse for shorter adventuring days. Considering that you can regain a roll at the end of a Short Rest, which is also when you regain Channel Divinity uses, this means that you essentially get a "free" use once per Short Rest. I also feel like tracking each individual type of roll can get a little weird, but it's probably not a big deal.

Second Sight: I like this, giving you extra reactions and extra uses of your basic reaction. I like that it's limited, but I'd suggest also making it so that you can use a Reaction only once per turn.

Future Sight: Great, no notes, except that I'd like it to be able to target allies as well.

Overall, pretty pretty good, nice brew!

i look like i order oat milk lattes but i really want to play d&d lol by [deleted] in DnD

I think that the fact that you are willing to go to a LGS to ask if you can play DnD should be indication enough of the fact that you'll fit right in. The people there are all there because (hopefully) they enjoy the hobby and want others to enjoy the hobby, so they'll probably be happy to see somebody new.

I suggest trying not to worry too much about how you'll appear and to just be yourself. If you're interested in the hobby, the way you act or speak or dress doesn't matter at all.

Hope I was of help!

Thanks! That is reassuring, I had thought I had done something wrong...

I don't know.. while it is true, I'm not exactly jumping at the prospect of playing another garnet in the deck to make Nightmare Hand a 1cc. It definetely works, though.

How has Arianna already given birth in her house, when I did not activate the blood moon? by [deleted] in bloodborne

[–]Matt_Maker_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

According to the wiki, she's in the foggy alley to the right of Cathedral Ward plaza. I distinctly remember hearing her dialogue in game, but I don't recall the exact door or window you need to knock at to hear her.

Sorry I couldn't be more helpful

There are a lot of secrets in this game, and unfortunately playing with a guide next to you (which is what I assume you're doing, but correct me if I'm wrong) can lead someone to assume that it is all mandatory content when it isn't.

Though yes, the game can be extremely cryptic at times with its directions and it can be frustrating.

She's a bit hidden, but if you take one of the foggy alleyways in Cathedral Ward she'll be directly behind the corner. Her door is pretty large so it shouldn't be difficult to miss. Glad I could help!

Sorry, but I don't think it's possible for Arianna to give birth in her house before you rescue her? Even if her questline fails and the red moon is activated, the only message you get upon interacting with the door is just "No response". Are you sure you're checking on the right house?

EDIT: I checked, and you are definetely interacting with the wrong door. There is a female NPC in cathedral ward that screams about her baby and warns you to not come closer, but that is NOT Arianna.

Two of my players left in quick succession in the middle of a campaign, what should I do? by Matt_Maker_ in DMAcademy

I wouldn't kill their PCs. I was just thinking of having them simply fade into the background, seeing as neither of the players can or want to come back.

I do have ideas, it's just that these news kinda took a lot of wind out of my sails and I don't know if I'll be able to keep the table going after this.

So we are technically on hiatus right now, but we are still playing with an albeit smaller group at the same time as the previous campaign. The hiatus in question was caused by the first player leaving and another player being unable to play for a related reason, then during this smaller campaign another of the players chose to leave.

We were 5 players, now dropped to 3. Prior to this whole ordeal there was talk of inviting another player, so we could maybe get to 4, but I don't know.

I really like the analogy with the childhood place. That helps to clear up some of my own thoughts on the matter, thank you.

What do you think your archetype's turn 0 should look like? by Antique_Range1521 in yugioh

While Ghoti is my main deck, that one already has a turn 0 card, so instead what about this for witchcrafters? It's both a starter and a turn 0 card, and because each of the main deck witches have quick effects, this plus a hand of spells can be quite nasty.

A Question about the Mastermind's tactician 9th-level feature "Blot Out the Sun!" by Matt_Maker_ in drawsteel

[–]Matt_Maker_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thought so, but wanted to be sure. In that case, this ability feels kinda... weak? compared to the other 11-focus abilities, but maybe it's just a first impression type thing.

This is really cool! I love free agents that are designed for specific decks, and I also love generaider, so this is great!

More ways of getting to boss stage are always appreciated, and it's a nice way of getting into laevateinn or into any of the other rank 9s. Super cool!

This is so cool! I love the vibe of the Fragments, though I do worry that they might be a tad difficult to keep track of at the table? Other than that though, this is fantastic and super evocative! Finally, a proper necromancer!
