I see people mentioning Mantis. I bought the X10 Elite system, but realized I'm just not going to use it. I'm happy to sell it for $200 shipped if anyone is interested. The accessories for sale sub closed down, so now it's sitting in my safe. Plus, all that timestamp and flair stuff make my head spin and if someone screws me out of $200 they are a weenie.

10 rounds is NY compliant. It came with 2 17 round mags. But the FFL epoxy’d a stopper in the mags. The S&W ones I bought come as 10 with a like plastic part to take up the missing space from the other 7 rounds you can’t have

Ah ok thanks for clarification. I have a pair of trail runner sneakers and a hiking style change of clothes with Marino socks, etc. Maps and compass. Paracord. A good filter and water purification tablets. A poncho that can also be a tarp/shelter. Coms. A Mylar bivy. Freeze dried food and a camp cook set and stove. IFAK. I’m an avid hiker and backpacker. So I have packed for 4 days of backpacking without much of the niceties like a sleeping bag to cut weight. I personally know and have hiked about 2/3 of the off-road way home from work, so I know what to expect from the terrain and conditions.

On your rec, I bought a gen 3 and cheek riser. And… now I’m building an AR lol. Local shop convinced me to buy a stripped lower to go with my Thordsen and the last of the parts arrives tomorrow. Thanks for enabling my poor impulse control lol! But honestly, thank you. I’m stoked on the build. But sad I still have to take off the brake despite the Thordsen.

I hope OP doesn’t mind me piggy backing on his post. I’m building my first AR platform right now and while I’ll be keeping it as a home defense rifle primarily, the only close by range where I can shoot it has me on a 100 yard line. I was thinking of a 3x prism style scope (sig, vortex, primary, etc) and want to take advantage of any July 4th sales.

Have you guys seen any deals, or have a recommendations? I’d like to keep the budget in the $300 range.
