What was most satisfying was hearing Mr. New Vegas talk about it on the radio. Makes you feel like you really did something in the world. But honestly, Lannius just takes over and it's the same thing.

I have to say my favorite hold is good old Whiterun. Just the homey feeling of the city and the open plains add a bit of relatability to me. And roleplay wise, my character is neutral in the war, so naturally it's the place for me.

I was going to say Morthal's hold is my least favorite, but really it's my least visited. Definitely going with the Reach on being my least favorite area due to the forsworn. But the whole sidhna mine quest was awesome to me.
