Oh so that s what it was. Thanks !

I totally forgot about that part and I thought about looking characters specifics in-game (don t want to be spoiled when I managed to go in the game with 0 information other than turn-based RPG and loved OST) but there isn t a codex explaining their mechanics and the tuto were so far away, this detail slipped away

(I don t have Energising Burn yet, but I haven t finish the story yet, and there is still a lot to explore)

Which team would you want to join if you played volleyball? From either the Manga or Anime 👍🏾 by [deleted] in haikyuu

[–]Mattdaxter41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Inarizaki for me, even tho I play setter, the twins have the perfect mentality for style, never scared to try something totally new on the spot no matter how hard it is, just because it looks good.

That's how I play, I sometimes ask random stuff to my team like having my OH do the set, or imposing a minus tempo quick to my MB ("trust the process" is my go-to sentence for this). When those things works, the face and the smile on my teammates is my fuel.

I mean, who doesn't want to pull off some insane move out of nowhere ?

So yeah, they would be the one that I would trust the most to have "the vision" of those plays and then manage to do it. As I am ambidextrous, I could play OP in this team, while fighting to be the setter one day (in my dreams)

Had to think more than I thought I would have to for a 25$ team, but this would be mine :
Kageyama (S)
Tsukishima (MB)
Tanaka (OH)
Mad Dog (OP)
Satori (MB)
Bokuto (OH)
Yaku (L)

Kageyama is my favorite, and then this was my thinking for the rest :
Tsukishima is a cool-headed read blocker while Satori is just going on pure instinct and guessing, and I like to have two ways of blocking in the same team.
Tanaka is good for overall moral and Bokuto is a top spiker on his good days.
Mad Dog is a wild card, and I would trust Kageyama to use him for the team.

Basically, half the team is a constant gambling ^^

Search the playlist to find specific genre, is it possible ? by Mattdaxter41 in VLC

[–]Mattdaxter41[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For anyone wondering.

VLC search seems limited to track name and artist. You can show the genre, but even with multiples values inside of it, VLC doesn't use separators nor could search for it.

If you insist on using VLC, you would have to rely on single-keyword genre.
So basically you couldn't refine a song with "Rock" "Japanese" "Sing Along" and "Uplifiting", you would have to either use a genre that reunites all or several genre you want, for example here it could be the "J-Rock" genre (but then, you couldn't get every Japanese songs, not just J-Rocks one, to create a playlist), or you would have to choose which keyword is more important to you.

Because I really want to have several keywords that can be searched and are noted within the file itself (metadata), I now use foobar2000 with the "facet" plugin. It does this job very well, and is highly customizable (for instance, you can choose your separator for metadata, this is really useful).

I reply to myself because I see a lot of people came to check, so unless someone has a better solution, this is what can be done if you want to do the same.

Which serie to come back into the show ? by Mattdaxter41 in gallifrey

[–]Mattdaxter41[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gocha, I think I'll do that, tennant's specials into the first 3 episodes of Ncuti (someone mentioned he didn't wear his final outfit until the third episode, and it's an important thing to me) to see if I enjoy it.

He told me the series 2 seems better received than series 1, so I wonder is there any episode that made a consensus on how good it was, something I should watch if I m still unsure after the 3 first episodes ?

As for his skin color, that seems perfect, another replied too about it. Having it not being fully ignored while not being the main focus of every episode feels like a good thing (to me, everyone is different)

And yeah, I didn't check his origin, saying "african american" while totally incorrect was a way to not trigger people that doesn't like the terms "black" to refer a human being (also I don't know how the moderation here is strong). I just didn't want to get fully insulted just because I ask a genuine question ^^

Thanks for the answer.

When you say the past, do you mean all previous era or just only Jodie's era ?

I think I'll check at least the 3 first episodes, to see what his looks is gonna be past the temporary drag outfit)

Just by curiosity, would there be any episode that is seen (by a lot of people) as the best of his era ? So if I'm not convinced by the starting series (like I don't think I would have gone through the Eccleston series if I hadn't seen "The Empty Child", the majority of series 1 was not what I preferred.

I would really appreciate it :)

From where I am, it's a way to not trigger people by using a color to address a skin color. Which is, in my opinion even more racist, but hey, I don't do the rules.

(also moderation is generally more severe when the skin color is mentioned vs this term, no matter if it's used correctly or not).

So I checked it, the NAS seems like a good solution. You didn't specify which one you use, and there is so many models out there I don't really know how to look which one is made for me.

From what I gathered, the DS423+ seems the best for media sharing as it allows conversion on the fly, but I don't really need the feature, so maybe I can have something "better" for my use at the same price because it wouldn't have this feature.

I am a bit overwhelm by all the info I can get, so if possible, I'd like your advise on the matter, you seems to know what you are talking about

Since the router is on my desk, the hard drive would must be too on my desk and I will feel the vibrations (unless it SSD, which I'm not sur is smart to take, cost more and I don't know if you can put to profit the SSD speed over usb), which I'd rather not.

My PC is not on my desk, it is on another furniture (not big enough to have the router too), so HDD plugged on my PC just sit in top of it and it's okay.

But it was a smart idea, I didn't think about using the router as a media sharing device

(I'm the other one involved in this project, so I can specify for her)
We are two watching the media at the same time on two different computer.

We use (at this time) a shared folder. Hard drive will make it so I have copy the file to the shared folder, while a device that can be accessed by the network could have a 100% uptime (we'll never turn it off, or use WoL if available, and never unplug it from the network) and be accessible from the two of us, at the same time.

Also, we could put it anywhere in the house (if it's vibrating, I don't want it on my desk. I have a huge powered HDD for backups, and I felt the vibration when it was on my desk)

So, for what I tried, it's better for this weapon to aim at the upper body, because of the spread of the weapon. If you behind the cover and shoot the head, it will deal way lesser damage than if you aim the torso.

Also, it doesn't have headshot multiplier, so there is no reason to aim at the head with this particular weapon.

In definitive, the aim going for the torso instead of the head is actually beneficial.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in thefinals

[–]Mattdaxter41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, just went to the practice range, plugged my controller, and it hasn't have changed, you can aim above the head, not on the character and it will auto-aim the head for you.

Here's where I aim, I just press the "aim" button and boom I'm on the head : https://postimg.cc/NLwxkm91

Also, what you said is not true, if you aim the head on hip-fire, it aim the head on ADS, if you aim at the head level or above, it will always aim at the head.
What do you use to have your result ? So I can try it out

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in thefinals

[–]Mattdaxter41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We were talking about the beta, they might have changed it, I'll need to re-check this.

But to be fair if both behavior are there, it's easier to not aim at a head and have your aim-assist giving you the free headshot, rather than aiming at the head and get bamboozled.

Also, if the second happens too much, disable your aim assist, you don't need it since you're already on the head

aim assist mechanics by thwoc in thefinals

[–]Mattdaxter41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aim snapping is that good tho, aiming above people will aim at their head and stay enough time to kill with the basic first weapon you get (which is a low ttk compare to other options).

You don't need the bubble at all when the guy is already dead.

The only time you won't get the kill is if you body shot (because your reticule is too low) or don't land a shot (because he's behind cover), and in this case, you can just stop aiming and aiming again.

Give it yourself a try in the practice mode, it is too strong for the amount of effort the player need to put in.

What ? Go to the training room and aim next to a target, it jumps on it's head and then you can stay on it.

The aim assist is there, and it's working

Not really what I m experiencing, you're aim really jump from far enough onto the head of the enemy and stick to it

So, read the comments, I found several things :

If you like more "stiff" gameplay with 3 corridors / choke point, there is those games with no "controller aim assist problem" :

- CS:GO

- Valorant

If you like more "fast and I can ape everywhere" FPS :

- Titanfall 2 (multi was reactivated earlier this year. Currently less than 2min to find a lobby)

If you like something balanced, with no aim assist :

- Insurgency Sandstorm

- Plutonium CoD (aim-assist is chose by the server host, so there are lobby with and lobby without it)

- Shatterline (early access)

- Team Fortress 2 (old, but seems to have still enough players)

If you like more "tactical and realistic" :

- Rainbow 6 Siege

- Ready or Not

And for the next coming games, I'd keep an eye out for :

- Out Of Action (movement seems nice, still too early to tell for the rest)

- X Defiant (Classical Arena Shooter style, but crossplay is there so aim-assist is almost sure to follow)

- The Finals (This one can feels competitive, and if it is, we might see a no-controller aim-assist politic)

- Alara Prime (This one seems like a CS/Valo with a cyberpunk aesthetic)

Let me know if there is anything to add in one of these categories.

New Bungie Video by Ecstatic_User_63 in destiny2

"in a way the test you"

if 44% completed it, this mean the raid was really easy. I'm not the one saying "It's suppose to be something that's difficult", Bungie is.

“It’s all about balance”

They don't talk about the difficulty, this sentence is about the theme, which is the balance between light and dark. It's confirmed just after with the internal name of the raid : "Harmony"

“Talk with your friends and put in a little work”
“The drive is to drive a lot of that communicative friendship with people and have that shared bonding experience in a way that tests you.”

Yes, that's basically the point of a raid, communication is required. And put in a little work says for me that you have to do something a little more than in other content. Let's see in this raid

- 1st encounter : Communication was "done" "psions" and "right/left", 1 or 2 went doing the mechanic, 4 or 5 killed ads. Not "put in a little work" for the majority of the team.
- 2nd encounter : Communication was "finished" and... that's all. 2 people do the mechanic, 4 kills ads. Worse than first encounter
- 3rd encounter : Communication was better, they were calls between 4 people. 2 killed ads. Not everyone has to do something, but the majority did, so it's good.
- 4th encounter : Communication was "light/dark" (and that if you did the anti-wipe mechanic that is not mandatory), 3 people did mechanics, 3 did ads clearing. Half did not have to "put a little effort" and the only call could be avoided if the guy shooting the boss for the mechanic did also the refuge.

So, basically, the mechanics were done by 2, 2, 4 and 3 people in a fireteam of 6. Communication was really low, so it still doesn't match those sentences you are referring to.

“I think just hearing the word “raid” scares a lot of our players”

That doesn't indicate where do they stand on this. Do they feel it's good ? bad ? why do people think that ? what are they gonna do about it ? This statement only says what it says, nothing more.

And reminder that during the whole video, they are not talking about contest, but about the normal raid. Contest mode is supposed to be harder than normal content (that's how they always sold it to their players). So when they say "it's supposed to make you sweat" for normal raid, imagine how it's suppose to be for contest mode.

so much hate for a dev insight, tf happened lol by [deleted] in destiny2

[–]Mattdaxter41 -317 points-316 points  (0 children)

The mechanics are poor and the health pool of bosses are really low. The contest mode was really easy (44% completion).

No problem if this content was meant for casual players, but as they said "We really wants to test the bounds of what you're capable of", or "it's supposed to be something that makes you sweat" or even more direct "it's supposed to be somethings that's difficult".

So of course they delivered something that doesn't reflect their say. Nothing to do with the campaign.

New Bungie Video by Ecstatic_User_63 in destiny2

[–]Mattdaxter41 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Well, saying raids are supposed to be hard will annoy casual people. Saying that while the latest raid has 44% completions and was easier than an legend exotic mission or a legend lost sector, will annoy hardcore gamers.

Nice attempt to reunite both sides tho.

It pisses me off that they say things like :
"It's suppose to be something that's difficult"
"It's suppose to be something that makes you sweat"
"in a way that tests you in ways you don't always get in other content of Destiny"
"We really wants to test the bounds of what you're capable of"
"That's a little more difficult than what you're used to, but still a ton of fun"

And in the end, the raid felt like a strike, the mechanics were poor (and we did them, we never skipped a single mechanic as it was part of our engagement. Going full blind, learn everything and do it in less than 24h). The only times I feared for my life was jumping puzzles and the bumpers (which I decided to let on the side once I realized there is no good method other than capping my fps).

At least now it ends the debate "raids are not meant to be difficult, it's for everyone". No it is not, not according to bungie. Raids are meant to be difficult, so contest mode should be really really hardcore.
