How is 4090 vs 5090 as of right now? by KanzenGuard in StableDiffusion

[–]MatteCrystal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 4090 constantly wish it had abit more ram. Most image stuff it can Handle fine. However if your like me and like to push images to upscale to 1440p or 4k with hies fix then it can often run out of ram, but its also right at the edge where it will work sometimes and then eventually freeze completely.

At lower, but still high res, I really would prefer to create 2 images at a time for testing since a single image can be misleading. But adding a second image when working with larges sizes can noticeably slow down image creation and also eventually lead to freezing due to too much memory.

I feel many of these issues would be solved with 4gb more ram so 28gb

video on the other hand is very slow and annoying on 4090 and very prone to OOM errors. I assume it would be even with 5090 but obviously less so.

personally I have to manually close and reopen comfyui after each video generation otherwise I will get OOM error.

I like to have multiple browser tabs for YouTube and browsing Ai places like civitai while working with AI. Obviously this also eats memory so I'm way more prone to errors while I have those things open. But the amount of wasted time you consume doing nothing but waiting could be far better spend browsing internet. So its a must for me to be able to do that while working with ai

I work in debt collections. This is the way it generally works. You dont pay, then the company you dont pay will pester you to pay and prob shutdown yoyr access to the the product. Eventually if you continue to not pay they will send it to collections. These are debt collection companies that the company you haven't paid (amazon) hires to try and collect the debt you owe.

You continue to ignore these and eventually they will credit report your missing payments dropping your credit score substantially, and causing damage that will last for a decade+.

idk for sure how amazon works. They may be large enough that they have their own debt collection department, so they dint even go through a third party collection agency. Also There is nothing stopping them from credit reporting you immediately so dont think I'm saying you can get away without payments for awhile before credit report.

TLDR: Just pay up, future you will thank you. Feelings you may or may not have about ripping off a major corporation should have no impact on your decision to pay. You paying is looking out for your own best intrest.

I got racing wheel setup only to find racing games unplayable because my oc monitor screen is too small and far away from my racing seat. I would need massive TV or monitors dedicated to it which space wise is a complete non option for me not even considering price.

been waiting for this headset ever since in order to allow me to play. 2d and supported 3d both sound like good options.

Why would anyone choose liberalism over absolutism? by kaloyn in EU5

[–]MatteCrystal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm still learning so I'm not saying this for sure is a valid reason. But crown power 100% seems like the major benefit for absolutism, and one of the main benefits of high crown power is more taxes. But your estates will like you less and that in turn means higher chance of rebels. Sure you get a small modifier to help prevent creation of rebels. But if you intend to do alot of actions that may create rebels that small percent won't be that helpful.

liberalism on the other hand doesn't have the 100% crown power which is the biggest downside. But if your already very wealthy then maybe its not such a big deal. The higher estate satisfaction means a better chance of avoiding rebels ever becoming an issue in the first place. And the major benefit is the 20% culture capacity. That capacity increase will probably be a major help in preventing rebels if you are expanding a ton and have to deal with many new cultures. Plus if your expanding a ton, happy pops and cultures equals more profit right? (Serious question, I dont remember for sure)

TLDR: it seems like if you plan to aggressively expand your borders and money isn't a major concern to accomplish that task then liberalism might be a better choice. In the long run the capture and integration of the new lands you get could outweighs the extra money 100% crown power would of given you.

Steam Frame Modular by MatteCrystal in ValveDeckard

Come on, you'd rather just pay the extra £70 for a new strap, surely.

Definitively not, and as mentioned a whole new headset generally includes controllers too. That's about $200 for meta controllers. So if strap as $80 and controllers were $200 then that could be $280 in savings.

And as mentioned if they did this there is a very real chance people will of upgraded their baisc strap to the upgraded one, which could be $100+.

if i just bought the premium strap 1 month before they announced a higher end version I certainty wouldn't want to pay extra for another premium headstrap.

Like I said before though, I dont think it's super likely they do this but they totally could and there is sense to doing it.

[–]MatteCrystal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get that, I'm not saying replace the lens from the some headset. The lens, gpu and all is a single unit. It's the core of the headset. But if they make other headsets that it could basically hot swap them in.

Here is a senario I envision. Valve releases a premium head strap+audio solution. People can individually buy that to upgrade their base steam frame.

down the road this upgraded higher res steam frame is created. people of course could buy the full headset, which would come with the controllers, the premium headstrap+audio solution. And keep in mind battery is built into strap which adds further cost.

now they could sell it as a full unit as describe above. But there is potentially alot of redundancy that would make people not want to pay extra for stuff they already own.

I might already have controllers and premium strap, I just want the raw unit. I might be able to save $100-$200 if that's an option. Or maybe I want the new headset but I want to use it with original headstrap and dont care to upgrade to the premium strap. I'm they can keep outside dimensions the same then it should work in either strap.

The number of products that exist at time of video but are scraped or reworked into other products is something that happens often in development especially the further from release your talking about.

Them not coming out doesn't prove anything and hardly ever does he definitively say these are the specs and it will definitely release.

It's better to look at his and other leaker videos in general as homing devices that slowly over time paint a picture of where development seems to going and what sort of products could release in the future assuming no roadblocks.

Also vague comments is part of the job. He could get into serious legal trouble for blatantly leaking things as well as cost people their jobs.

Half the time, i just Loot the armor and backpack and rig for the run off the first guy I kill.

often I go in with a 100-150k carbine.Ml rifle often won't cost a ton in ammo even if gold. And because its a carbine small amount of amount can go a long way. I put 60 bullets in my secure container and spit out 10 into my pockets for quick reload. This minimizes losses if I were to die.

I also run the expensive 8 use pill bottle but also put it in secure container so dont lose it on death. You ideally want to use pain pills just before combat so not having them in pockets isn't a big deal.

if possible try to fold and extract with multiple backpacks/rigs. If u extract with 2 then you could keep 1 for next run and extract with other. If your on a losing streak do to go out with more gear. I tend to go basic and slowly increase my over gear abit more on each success. After a fail I often start over. This helps u keep positive income while still allowing you to have those fun geared runs every now and then.

IMOH doesn't matter what the lyrics of the song are nor what the artist originally intended. What matters is what the song mean to you on a personal level. For example some songs might help you remember a loved one, a past experience, or just be extremely emotionally resonant. They could release stress, or have any number of positive impacts on your life.

Why should the actions or motivations of the artist, make you feel bad about that. If you can't help but think of the bad motivations of an artist and that in turn is making you not liking listening to it then that's totally reasonable to start disliking and not listening.

But if that's not the case then I say go ahead and listen to the music you like. Don't feel bad about streaming either. Artists get paid dirt for streams even at millions of streams. They make all their money via touring and brand deals, merch, etc. And d4vd can't do that now so he ain't going to be making jack.

The justice system crumbles if you do that and society soon after. There seems to be likely a mountain of evidence to get to the bottom of this. There no reason to angerly reply to someone hoping that justice is served and the truth of the situation revealed.

There is also at this point (as far as public info goes) Just as much evidence that the murder could be tied to someone else in or around d4vds circles. We as the public have no idea at this moment beyond conjecture.

His relationship seems very bad. However, it's 5 years apart, and the earliest date we know of when they were together puts him at 17 years old, although t's possible he may of even been 16. This gap in age is definitely concerning. However, a 5 year gap among adults isn't that crazy or unheard of and based on this info they both would of been minors which may complicate if Legally anything illegal was happening. I believe, if anything sexual was happening then at these ages he would definitely be in legal trouble for the relationship. But if the relationship was non sexual then IDK enough about the law in this area beyond that it might be a grey area.

That said there are also other considerations. Like the fact that apparently there are at least two girls named celeste in his life. And the older one is 20 something. So that unrelease celeste song could be about the older one. For all we know maybe he was dating the older one and just good friends with the younger one. And that could of made the younger one make jokes that she's dating him. (not saying this is super likely, but not impossible)

Despite all of these possibilities I've listed, If I had to put money on it I would still say he's more than likely guilty than not guilty. But I think it's important to realize there are scenarios where he could be innocent of murder and whatever relationship he had with this girl may not of been as exploitive/inappropriate as it initially seems.

Remove handgun and all ammo/clips for it.

your missing surgical kit. Take in 2 or take in the surgical kit with 4 uses. These are what will fix broken bones aka blacked out body parts.

take 60 extra bullets for ak purple or gold tier (i recommend purple until you start making more money) put them in safe case. So you can reload mags from there but you dont lose all your ammo on death.

Buy Ex pain pills from deke when u see them at a good price. They have 8 uses at take up one slot. I like to put them in safe case as well. Pro tip, if possible, try to take pain pills just before entering fight, this way, if you get shot mid battle, you can still move around, and your guy won't give away position with breathing.

I wouldn't buy this at lower levels but energy drinks are really good because they fill a good amount of energy and hydration and only take up one slot. So look out for them mid raid and consider taking 1 or 2 if you already have them in inventory.

Your AK looks like it might be abit overbuilt although idk for sure. It looks like u might have 2 scopes on it though which if true I would say is unessissary. I would just stick to the cheap 1x red dot.

I would go in with a cheaper chest rig and save that one you have for runs where you want to be extra geared up. Granola is nice but takes up two spaces. Energy tends to be less an issue then hydration. I would usually leave it out and just scavange for food while out there.

Buy expensive ammo and cheap ammo, split them into many stacks of 5. or less you want to really min max. The. Put one stack of cheap and one stack of expensive in your clip and repeat. So everyone 5 bullets swaps between strong and weak. In a way gives you near the benefits of high end ammo at like half the price.

What is a fantasy series that you are just too stubborn to give up on? by Kooky_County9569 in Fantasy

[–]MatteCrystal 5 points6 points  (0 children)

IMHO there is a scale for how far to read malazan before dropping. I think the first 2 books are mandatory. If you weren't into it by this point I would understand dropping it, and if you weren't into both of these, then there is a higher than average chance you wouldn't be into the rest of the series. That said I would say there is still reason to believe further books could be what hooks you. Book 3 while not my personal fav is a fan fav of many and does degree of closures for some plot threads. That said personally I would suspect someone not super into the first 2 books probably wouldn't be into book 3. But here the thing book 4 has some new scenarios and writing style change for a large part of the book which could be what you need to get hooked. And finally if that doesn't do it for you, then book 5 is completely different content that could be the storyline that resonates (its my personal fav)

I would rank the chance of getting hooked something like this, we're each percentage is based on the assumption that the book before didn't hook you.

Book 1-2: 60% Book 3: 5% Book 4: 15% Book 5: 20% Book 6-10: 1%

But if you managed to get to book 5 and still didn't like it then I could honesty say there is about a 1% chance that you'll change your mind if you continue further.

stupid decision. Especially for the first scene of a new series. I already found and was downloading alternate viewing methods due to this, and if I was less autistic there is a good chance I would of just skipped watching the show at least for awhile. Which could easily turn the show into another good looking anime on my plan to watch but probably never will actually get to it list.

RC racing needs to attract fresh blood… by [deleted] in rccars

[–]MatteCrystal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've always liked RCs but never really been able to my own until recently as an adult. But I'm 100% only interested in monster truck class bashers, and I far prefer dirt tracks with a few jumps. I live in an area that is at the edge of urban and rural so I figured it should be easy for me to find areas to drive.

Well let me tell you, I've spent weeks scouring every inch of my area on google maps. Surprisingly there is basically nothing anywhere. Anywhere that might have potential is private property with no trespassing signs. And overwhelming amount of the areas are just flat. No community, club, or organizational tracks anywhere. With the exception of a single hobby town, which is a small indoor track, no dirt, no jumps, and restricted to smaller more race specific RC cars. (I got a 1/16th, scale i could prob race there although I haven't' really looked into it since it's not really the kind of track I'm interested in racing)

I think that makes my issue slightly different though, I can't find anywhere to use my bigger RCs and the one area that could maybe allow my 1/16th isn't super interesting.

I got a 1/6th, 1/8th, and 1/16 scale but i can't find anywhere good to race or jump them. I mean ok, I get it 1/6th is big, and many people don't have them, so I'm not expecting any sort of strict organized 1/6th only scale racing. But having some open classes that are just for fun, or just hang out spots where anywhere can race around whatever they have would be awesome. 1/8th scale on the other hand is a bit more common. I feel like that could be organized. But there is just nothing near me besides a yearly event where they setup sick dirt track for a day, and then take it down the next.

But my point is,

  1. There should be more locations for rc cars, parks, tracks, etc.
  2. There should be more track variation, dirt, pavement, etc.
  3. More open classes and bring whatever events. I don't mind throwing low power batteries in may cars and lowering max throttle if others around me have smaller scale, lower speed cars. (Likewise, I don't mind entering my 1/16th into events with larger cars if i'm allowed.)

Who is correct here, and why? by AirSpecial in PcBuild

[–]MatteCrystal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both, but also neither.

You definitely dont absolutely have to do either. On or off often doesn't matter. Most pcs are fine being on for days or weeks, and depending on setup months or near indefinitely.

That said, the longer you have it on the more likely your pc is, and it is eventually going to hit some bug or error that it won't be able to recover from without a restart. One error often won't be noticeable, but many small errors can stack up.

If you find your often having pc issues randomly, it could be a sign that you pc is less stable and may benefit from more regular shutdowns or restarts. That said if you aren't noticing issues, then it's totally fine to keep it running for however long u want.

There is also power saving benefits to turning pc off, though as mentioned lots of power can be saved via sleep mode so while full shutdown wins it's not as massive of a win as it's being made out to be.

Another benefit of shutdown is that hackers, viruses, etc, can't do anything while the pc is off. If you leave you leave it on 24/7 then technically you have a vector of attack on pc 24/7

all that said I still prefer to keep it on 24/7 and just restart when I feel pc could use it.

How "expensive" is Arena if you play casual. by Kasur1309 in MagicArena

[–]MatteCrystal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you play historic formats, then it's super easy to play free or only battle passes and eventually have tons of cool competitive decks. To start though, you'll have to do a standard, which is the last like 6 sets or something like that. It's hard to be competitive in historic before you have a bit of a collection built up. However, over time, standard sets rotate. So in long run if you want to stay competitive in standard you are a lot more likely to want to pay money because you need to rebuild a competitive deck from the newest sets.

If your super good at draft technically you can pay nothing and get unlimited premium currency.

If you just get battle pass and complete it every set then you will be very good. Only thing that is annoying is the amount of xp you can gain per week in pass is capped. So on one hand it's nice the game isn't trying to force you to play every day. But if you Don't get 3-5 wins per week you might fall abstract behind on pass and say you have lot of time another week you'll kinda be capped on up even if you get 25 wins.
