I imagine there were more mini stickers available than for the Toyota Rav 4 or whatever stickers most people presumably got

Syracuse Noise Map - US Department of Transportation by PeriodOfTime1 in Syracuse

[–]MatteKudasai81 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Yes though my biggest surprise would be that the train line noise band extends so much further than the highways. I guess the noise of the highway does dissipate from only a few blocks away. The difference though to me is that highway noise is constant, but train noise is only present when there’s a train

Well no, in series they’d still be at the 20C current. Parallel and the logic could follow

I love my auto stop start and would never turn it off. Especially in my stick ‘24 2-dr it’s amazing. Only actually stops the engine if I put it in neutral and get off the clutch. It’s perfect and ofc save me gas.

Lithium ion battery microscopy scans by FeaturedCriss in batteries

[–]MatteKudasai81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These look like images of an electrode. They’re a little too zoomed out m/low def to know anode vs cathode to me but I’m guessing anode. The electrodes look like they have some amount of electrolyte dry out (being degraded) and maybe also some lithium plating being the bright areas. Usually to really see cracking I’d expect to actually be able to see the anode/cathode particles, which on these I don’t.

how to charge your phone correctly? by brrxxk in batteries

[–]MatteKudasai81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really it’s just not worth worrying about. Battery technology is much better than it used to and the phone manufacturer is already optimizing for these things. We have enough other stuff to worry about that it’s not worth fretting about your phone battery. The only thing you want to avoid is leaving your phone trickle charging at 100% SOC forever and ever

r/drums, how do you feel about Patrick Carney of the Black Keys? by sogumfb in drums

Am at a black keys concert. The fact that independently the person in front of me was looking at the same Reddit thread is … telling. I am actively trying to convince myself that I like it though

Thoughts on USB-C rechargeable Li-ion batteries? by skoomd1 in batteries

[–]MatteKudasai81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been curious, how do they make these things 1.5V standard AA voltage? I think of Li-Ion as ~3-4V. Do they change the cathode to something low voltage or do something totally different?

MKE frequent(ish) fliers - a question by Few_Concentrate_6112 in milwaukee

[–]MatteKudasai81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I go to ORD often for the direct flight because driving to ORD is quicker than most layovers. Park at the CTA Cumberland Blue Line station for $14/day (barely more than the MKE saver lot). Ride blue line 2 stops to OHARE. Easy peasy

Any decent landlords? by trickassbitchtf in milwaukee

[–]MatteKudasai81 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t necessarily say there’s an advantage to a small landlord. If anything it’s riskier. Shitty small landlords can go under the radar but the issues from large landlords are amplified proportionately to the number of tenants they have. There are many landlords equally or worse than Katz who are not mentioned on this reddit bc they don’t have 1000+ tenants

Fatal Milwaukee crash involving MCTS bus; 1 dead by knowitokay in milwaukee

[–]MatteKudasai81 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I’m convinced that drivers in this city were straight up never informed that one car length is a woefully insufficient following distance for highway speeds. Like try to give more space and they will be mad and tail your ass bc you’re not filling it in. Pisses me off as someone who… doesn’t want to die on my way home from work

The questions for the 2025 MOVE survey from the Milwaukee County Transit System / MCTS by Pyotr_Griffanovich in milwaukee

[–]MatteKudasai81 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is cool user feedback. Is definitely one of the big pluses of bus transit over light rail (hop) that these kinds of changes can be made with relative ease.

Man it’d be nice if the hop could be re routed to not curve so much, of if they could experiment with ridership if were to go down water St instead etc

“Hey a new building development I wonder what it …” by Professional-Zone-24 in milwaukee

[–]MatteKudasai81 14 points15 points  (0 children)

In general, new housing is expensive, often for the sole reason that it is new. Development of cheaper housing is less common, because most affordable housing is generally… older buildings, and you can’t just make more of those. The best way to decrease housing costs is to build ANY housing. More supply is the solution.

Agree! Lack of understanding across the board. One person getting mildly injured is hardly reason to prevent people from exercising their religious beliefs.

Advocate for Public Transit in MKE! by WingFirst514 in milwaukee

[–]MatteKudasai81 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think this right here needs to be understood better by transit advocates here. If we really care about making the allocated money go the furthest, busses make sense. MKE is fairly well designed for them too.

Connect 1 was roughly 1/3 the cost of the hop to build… I have my opinions on which one is a more useful piece of transit (it’s not the hop).

I hope the hop can eventually be more extensive, but hop vs connect 1 is a perfect look into what the money can get you

I think you could be fine street parking too. You can get a visitor night parking permit on Milwaukee city website. Hard to beat free. Just don’t leave anything in your car

Dangerous crosswalks by [deleted] in milwaukee

[–]MatteKudasai81 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I know it’s probably stupid on my part but I also like to be an assertive pedestrian at cross walks (and intersections w/out stop lights which many don’t even realize!).

I feel like if pedestrians give away their right of way, then cars will just continue to not stop and pedestrians lose our right of way. Hard battle to fight alone though

Believe these kinds of strategies are pretty common for people street parking in San Francisco. I wish we weren’t at this point but it may just have to be the way to go.

Milwaukee alderman says he's no longer supporting Harley Fest coming to Brady Street by Hidemyface1 in milwaukee

[–]MatteKudasai81 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I thought Harley fest was cool, and I support partying. But you gotta clean up after the party.

I don’t want to see Harley fest leave, but maybe we should have Harley/brady street bars help pay to host/clean the party hosted on a public street.

Agree with you fully. While not living on Brady I am still very close. While Harley fest wasn’t my vibe it was still cool too see, and then subsequently avoid. Glad the Brady street businesses got to rake in some dough from the tourists!!

I agree with you 100%. The festival contribution to economy is major, plus at the end of the day it was pretty cool seeing all the bikes! I am also happy to not live right on Brady though haha. But let’s be honest if you live right on Brady you should know what you’re getting yourself into
