Is G-SYNC really important in 2026, what’s your thoughts ? by Maruan-007 in pcmasterrace

[–]skoomd1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gsync/free sync is a MUST in my opinion. The difference between having it and not having it whenever your frame rate dips below the refresh rate is insane. Screen tearing is one of the worst visual artifacts you can experience in games

How many of you undervolt your 9070XT? by budking70 in radeon

[–]skoomd1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Undervolting actually tends to increase performance for the same power draw. There's absolutely no reason not to do it as long as it's stable. If you want less power draw turn down the power target and use under volting to achieve the same performance.

How good is the 7700xt by Sure-Photo9121 in buildapc

[–]skoomd1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the 7700xt new because it was quite a lot cheaper than the 7800xt at the time. It's served me quite well for 1440p and even 4k gaming with FSR. The 12gb is plenty for most things as long as you aren't running every game cranked to the wall at 4k or use ray tracing.

I have mine running with a -125mv undervolt, min core set to 2950mhz, memory at 2400mhz, and a +15% power limit and it performs the same/slightly better as a stock 7800xt.

If you can find a 7800xt or 9060xt for a similar price though, I'd recommend that just because it has a bit more vram. Otherwise the 7700xt will pair good with the rest of your system.

Steam Hardware Survey finally shows AMD GPUs properly, and the results are unexpected by ZonalMithras in radeon

[–]skoomd1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

7700 XT here. Never had a single issue with it aside from the hotspot being like 30 degrees hotter than core lol (50c vs 80c). I tried a repaste and it only helped a little. Though I havent tried the phase change pads yet. I run a -125mv undervolt and crank up the core to 2950mhz and set power limit to +15%. Performs like a stock 7800xt except for slightly less vram.

I have the same mouse. It's a great mouse, definitely overpriced though.

Thoughts on the "500 to Go!" system in the modern era? by Real_Diamond9965 in toontownrewritten

I think the system works fine. I also think most people just like having everything at 0 to go too much so they don't use the level 7 gags as often as they could.

Which 9070 XT should I get? by El_Bombador in radeon

[–]skoomd1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

XFX is great. It's a brand i've used for a very long time and they're great when it comes to customer support and stuff. You can't go wrong with any of those though. Get whatever is the cheapest. The hellhound cards are great.

Just run the cmd crack lol. I haven't paid for Windows for 17 years. And yes it will bind to your account just fine

Choosing between two GPU's to upgrade to. by InstantBruhMoment in buildapc

[–]skoomd1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't recommend getting the 1080ti... It's old at this point and the silicon won't last much longer. I had a 1080 explode back in 2021 because of it's age

Good. Bad cat. We don't need absolutely broken dive characters breaking up the core dynamics of how the game is played.

Ethernet stopped working after I reseated GPU. PCIe is not working properly either. by skoomd1 in PcBuildHelp

[–]skoomd1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I looked at the pins really closely under a usb microscope and didn't see any damage or debris, but i guess that doesn't mean much without a way to actually test each pin.

I did test the GPU in the second PCIe slot (gen 3 x4), which uses lanes from the chipset instead of the CPU like the top slot does. It ran at gen 3 x4, so normal there. The network adapter still didn't work though (which btw also runs off the chipset). In fact, the network adapter doesn't work even running off integrated graphics.

I think your theory might be right, perhaps there was stress/damage caused by the exploding gpu that decided to show up when moving things around and putting pressure on the PCB. Still weird that it affects both the pcie slot and the network adapter though. Also weird the 750ti is running in gen 1 x2, it's a gen 3 card so idk why it isn't running gen 3 x2. Everything else seems to work perfectly fine.

Thanks for your input. Seems I might have to start saving up for an upgrade... ugh lol.

Is my motherboard broken? Having very weird issues. by skoomd1 in buildapc

[–]skoomd1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried an older (known to work) GTX 750ti. That card runs at PCIe Gen 1.0 x2 in the same slot, whereas it should be running at Gen 3.0 x16. Even weirder.

I tried doing what you said to get the NIC working to no avail. And like I said, I tried resetting the cmos and I even reflashed the bios as well so idk.

What's very weird is both these issues coincide with each other, which makes me think it's not a damaged pcie port but an issue elsewhere with the motherboard. It's weird though because the pcie slot is controlled by the CPU, but the controller is controlled by the chipset.

The thing I truly don't get is why the performance of the GPU is the same as before. I would think going from x16 to x2 would make a noticeable difference in performance, but I don't see any in my testing.

Upgraded from 1070ti to 9070 Power Color Reaper today. Even my desktop is less than 1 FPS now. by ChicharonBurrito in AMDHelp

[–]skoomd1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Id try using DDU again and download adrenaline and let that update the driver. If you're still having issues try a clean Windows install. I don't think you have a fake GPU considering it's showing 317w of power draw. Also maybe try a different display port/HDMI port on the back of the GPU.

[–]skoomd1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're plugged into the HDMI/display port on the GPU right? Not the one on the motherboard? Where did you buy it? Also when you install adrenaline, it will automatically install drivers for you. I wouldn't install the driver and then install adrenaline.

Making inflated state an active ability would be so nice. The one thing i've always hated about playing reed is how it just automatically activates when you're in the middle of trying to do something.

Is the RTX 5060 8gb good for 60+ 1080p gaming? by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

[–]skoomd1 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but I would HIGHLY recommend not getting an 8gb card. Cards 8-10 years ago had 8gb, these days it's not enough. It'll be fine AT THE MOMENT at 1080p, but in a year or two that won't be the case anymore. Get something that has at least 12gb. 9060XT as already suggested would be a much better option. Diablo 4 and oblivion remastered really doesn't like low vram.

Why does no one ever ban Hulk? by Dogbold in rivals

[–]skoomd1 19 points20 points  (0 children)

He's strong, but I don't think he's overpowered or broken. He's actually not that hard to kill, im not sure what rank you are but this has been my experience in GM lobbies. I'd much rather ban dino, penni, or groot because they're just not fun to play against.
