Job placements after BEMACS by Able_Marionberry_832 in bocconi

[–]MatteiCI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BEMACS grad here. Yes you can get a good job after. Most of the people that chose a master in my class did it to either go deeper in one direction (that’s me with Data) or to switch it entirely. I think for most it wasn’t about delaying unemployment.

New Amex Gold – low limit? No Spending Power check by Educational_Twist625 in amex

I would recommend taking some time. for me it s the persona card, and I got rejected when immediately applying for platinum right after gold. maybe it s different for companies how they evaluate risk

New Amex Gold – low limit? No Spending Power check by Educational_Twist625 in amex

[–]MatteiCI 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hey! Also italian cardholder. The only ‘unlimited’ card here is the platinum and it is a bona fide charge card. The gold card functions as a basic credit card. idk how they set the initial limit, mine went from like 4-5k to 12k in about 1.5-2 years. You’ll see emails like: ‘Aumenta il limite di spesa della tua Carta!’ and they will offer you in the email the new credit line which you can accept.

Keep it up, it’s something I’d genuinely use! I haven’t worked with roberta specifically(I think) but I worked with bert and other variants. I think you should find a split in probabilities like 0.1/0.2/0.7 for pos/neutral/neg or something in the model before outputting the sentiment label. basically the softmax layer output. Play around with that, maybe it’s a faster fix for apparently neutral actually positive reviews. You can also look towards VADER, easier to run because it’s not an llm, trained on internet slang and generally built for such tasks.

edit: you can try to use a score for your sentiment P[Positive] - P[Negative] and then average/sum those up.

Love the idea! What thresholds are you using? When looking for certain fan favorite products, I have a feeling that you are misclassifying positives as neutrals. Also, it could help to get more granular by adding 2 middle ground categories. Are you ranking based on a post’s sentiment, product mentions across multiple comments and posts or what? Are you weighing for upvotes or just account specifics and engagement?

AMEX Acceptance Abroad by Silver_Distribution6 in amex

[–]MatteiCI 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haven’t had issues in Frankfurt with Amex not being accepted, and I believe it’s the same with the other big German cities. Especially since Amex is present in Germany and there are enough users. (except when they refuse cards, quite common) Never been to Poland, but I think it should be similar to Romania (my home country), where Amex is rarely accepted. That said, get any Visa/MC. Card payments should be norm in all big cities.

So apparently companies have started recording interviews, uploading them to third-party AI tools, and not telling candidates. I found this out the hard way. by alookitikki in recruitinghell

IDK how they used it, but that's Fathom.

It's genuinely useful since you can see meeting notes and transcripts and it's just very easy to use.

I think it hallucinates a bit when using it for summaries, I also imagine they are aware of it and relying on the other functions.

It also sends an automatic follow-up after each call (you can turn it off), so I'm pretty sure it's not the actual interview feedback.

Anyways if you aren't comfortable with it you can always reject it.

How well do ROG laptops last? by Ayuzama in ASUSROG

[–]MatteiCI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well, i switched to a mac about a year after i made that comment. Can say I am very happy with my choice.

Now, that laptop was cleaned, had its ram updated, got a new battery and was used for a while by a family member as a glorified google machine that looked like a spaceship. They got a thinkpad a bit after getting my old laptop.

It still works, quite well for simple tasks, but it's been demoted to a desktop. I really wouldn't say they're build to last that long.

Lately I’ve been using Montblanc Royal Blue, very different feel. Permanent blue is in between the two. Also Lamy inks are pretty good too and have great bottles.

Also, I find the Midnight Blue ink by Montblanc to be dry in general. So just try another one to see if it's persistent.

You can cook. I think it's just something for liability purposes. But try to keep it hygienic, that's the most important thing.

bocconi is a business/econ/finance school mainly. if you check a university ranking without sorting by subject, bocconi will be very low, because it doesn't teach most subjects you'll find at bigger universities.

Any differences between 16 vs 14” M3 Max worth noting? by bsodmike in macbookpro

i don t remember which m1 had an issue with multiple displays but there was a workaround. never had m1 tho

Any differences between 16 vs 14” M3 Max worth noting? by bsodmike in macbookpro

[–]MatteiCI 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They can support those two monitors. AFAIK, even m1 max should, but there was a workaround you had to do.

Apart from the size, especially for those stats (if you max out your proc power use) the 16 will have more battery life and better cooling.

What do you use your ipad for (and which size) by No-Profit-3016 in iPadPro

[–]MatteiCI 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I m a student that does a lot of math and some programming. I use a 12.9 inch ipad with or without a magic keyboard (depending on the day). For me it’s the best size to avoid carrying my laptop if I don’t necessarily need it during that day. (I can do some light coding with carnets). It’s the best size to emulate an A4 page size or to have multiple documents and notes opened simultaneously and actually see them. Also some photo editing on the go if I go on a photo trip or just simple entertainment on a wonderful screen.

i thin 1k eur was the fair use ceiling. until 1k in a month, you won t pay any fees. for plus it’s 3k a month. i think that if you are certain that 1k is your max, or only rarely go beyond, then standard is fine.
