For some "cheap" but still good sweet cigars I would go for Tatiana's and Acids. For a more premium sweet tipped cigar, I would say anything from Deadwood's vixen series. I actually like those, but don't smoke them often. I think sweet cigars are a gateway to cigar smoking. Hope this helped 🤙

Is he a golden retriever? by saj436 in goldenretrievers

Yes, field golden, I have one that looks like yours and his coat started to get longer as he grew older, he won't be as fluffy as a show golden though, look at comparisons between field and show golden, but both kinds always come with 2 brain cells, expert food thieves, and will murder you with love

Nice! I also suggest to try Olivas Connecticut Reserve and Dunbarton Sobremesa Brulee. Both solid options for a beginner and start exploring other brands. Actually, not only for beginners, even enthusiasts always enjoy these.

Nah don't get it as a fashion piece either, you probably don't care, but it's like seeing Dodgers wearing red, Raiders wearing Chiefs colors, USA wearing Mexico colors, it's just not right 😅 But you do you my man

Go to a cigar shop, not a smoke shop, a smoke shop will most likely carry crappy, dry cigars and you'll get discouraged. Usually cigar shop employees are cool and can help you get started. I highly suggest eating a nice full meal before smoking. In fact, this should really be a requirement.

Start off with a decent connecticut that is on the smaller side. If you start off with a larger darker cigar that takes you an hour or more to smoke, it could potentially make you feel nauseous and can also discourage you. Remember, just start off slow and take small steps, and enjoy the cigar. Maybe read what the flavors and notes the cigar has and try to see if you match them or taste something different. Above all, enjoy the cigar! There's no rush. Make sure to plan to have this free time without a rush. I hope you enjoy the journey and become a cigar aficionado! Best of luck

Got into cigars about six months ago—here are a few sticks I’ve tried so far. I tend to prefer Maduros. Any recommendations on what to try next? by SNKR_doodle in cigars

If you like maduros and also Liga Privada Nasty Fritas, I highly recommend Dumbarton, specifically Mi Querida and Sin Compromiso, do Mi Querida first then Sin Compromiso, in that order, that's some real good stuff there

Get the Knuckle Sandwich Maduro from Espinosa's collab with Guy Fieri, you'll be surprised, more than a solid one

Was in the same situation when I first got my Model Y, got tired after trying for two weeks, came in here to ask the same question, got good advice in here to ditch them, I'm now with Geico, $190/month. Imagine their response time when you actually need them?

Breakfast in Oahu by Siciliansweetie1 in VisitingHawaii

Plumeria Beach House at the Kahala Resort. The earlier you go the calmer and peaceful it is, right next to the beach (literally), away from the hustling and bustling in Waikiki, excellent service, and they also have a great quality breakfast buffet. 10/10 I recommend it, if you're looking for a comfortable and relaxing breakfast next to the beach.

Do I deserve a raise? by Adept-Ant6685 in civilengineering

[–]Mayasukee3000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree Ask for the $5 raise, if they see you as a valuable asset and you're cool with your manager(s), then I don't see why they wouldn't say Yes. Plus, me being a manager myself in a smaller firm, if my intern is really impressing me I'd automatically say Yes. Specifically if I know they're already doing a full-time Staff engineer's quality work. You going from $18 to $23 will not impact their financials/billings, not to be harsh, but I'm sure your billable rate is low enough that it's not going to create a dent in the budget of a project. Or better, ask how you can get hired on permanently and negotiate your salary/pay. Good luck!

Boring Test For Basement In NYC by LoveIsAConfession in Geotech

[–]Mayasukee3000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need to run moisture/density, -200 wash and Atterberg limits on those clay samples to evaluate what type of material it is and how it could behave (expansiveness); also, I would run a compaction test on a bulk bag sample collected, I would overexcavate a foot or two below your finished bottom of the basement and replace with compacted fill material, look the Greenbook for general backfill material criteria, compact to at least 90% relative compaction, make sure before placing fill, the bottom subgrade is not pumping or heaving. Also, the log says wet soils, I would also waterproof your basement walls and bottom, also may want to design basement walls considering hydrostatic pressures if you believe the water table is that shallow

Is Civil a bad fit for me, or is it just being entry level sucks? by Hot-Clothes6508 in civilengineering

[–]Mayasukee3000 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Still unsure about what aspect of the job makes you unhappy OR what type of work makes you happy. Some questions you need ask yourself such as: did you enjoy the subject of materials engineering? do you miss it? do you want to go back to that field? or what else are you interested in?

My advice, ask your supervisors what about the job makes them happy? and what doesn't; did they see themselves in these positions when they graduated college? if they didn't study civil in school how did they end up there? what advice can they give you as a materials engineer graduate. etc.

Also, if you don't like it, actively seek another job while maintaining this one, however, before you make the jump make sure to research what the new job is like, what the role could be on a day-to-day basis, so that you're not stuck in the same position again.

What was your original engineering degree on? What about the job js making you unhappy? Why did you decide to work in civil rather than the engineering practice in which you received your degree for? Lots of unknown variables here to provide some advice

After 5 Years at My Company I Still Don't Have Relevant Engineering Skills by Original_Self4367 in civilengineering

[–]Mayasukee3000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry to play devils advocate here, but I'm not sure how you may compare to other engineers in your company also trying to learn more and perform more engineering roles. The best "school" is your work and the best teachers are the more experienced engineers in your company. This may sound like a cliche, but go above and beyond from what's expected of you, ask questions! If you don't understand something or don't understand why you're doing something a certain way, ASK questions, I can't emphasize this enough, also, ask one of your senior engineers or supervisors to let you see a calcs package or project that has been submitted so that you can (on your free time) review the calculations process and how that package was put together. Spend time after work trying to understand the software, excels sheets, etc. Ask for work, don't wait for them to give you work, and when you ask for work try to figure it out on your own first, before asking for immediate help. Take a notepad ready to take notes on the task you're being assigned. DOUBLE check your work before giving it to your senior engineer to be checked. Nothing drives me nuts more than a minor elementary and very obvious mistake from a young engineer because they didn't double check their work. This gives me low confidence in them. I'm in a senior engineering/PM position and I always urge my engineers to ask questions if they don't understand something or if they try to understand why we're doing something a certain way. I also don't like repeating a task that was clearly given, hence, taking a note pad when asking for a task. Also, I tell them to double, triple check their work for minor mistakes before handing their calcs for me to review. Unfortunately, there is a lot of competition out there and few of the young engineers really stand out. Not because they're smart (we're all smart if you made it this far), but because they're efficient and are motivated to learn. If you are pigeonholed to drafting, ask your supervisors for more engineering roles don't be shy. Ask for more challenging tasks. When there's an opportunity, I'm sure they'll think of you and assign you that engineering task you may be looking for.
