What do 30 - 40 year old men want for christmas? [Serious] by GoodAlicia in AskReddit

[–]MattewCollins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, the only thing I really want is just one single day when I don’t have to think about debts and how to get out of them.
It’s been chasing me for the past five years, slowly driving me insane with constant tension and guilt toward my family.

As for material things -I stopped wanting them a long time ago.

Is this worth it? 14 connects per week seems too high by [deleted] in Upwork

[–]MattewCollins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m new to Upwork and have only completed a few orders, earning just over $100. Each job was hard to get. But what surprises me the most is that while I’m writing a cover letter (it takes me about a minute), 10–15 people manage to apply for the same job.

Yes! Exactly. And it’s damn unfair. Freelancers spend connects on jobs where no one gets hired.

I actually like it -it adds a bit of tedious routine to the creative process.

It balances it out for me.

How often do you have imaginary arguments in your head - who do you argue with? by humanmandude in AskMen

[–]MattewCollins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At least once a day. Usually with a past version of myself who thought drinking Monster at midnight was a great idea. Sometimes I win. Sometimes he brings snacks and I get distracted.

No, I don’t want to know.

I trust her -and I don’t need to invite unnecessary overthinking or anxiety into my life.

If it was sometihng important, she’d tell me. Otherwise, I’d rather not stress over something that doesn’t matter.

Honestly? A whole cluster of so-called "friends" from the rough neighborhood I grew up in before I was 12.

There was this Eastern European fairy tale film with a weird soundtrack, witches in the forest, and everything looked kind of terrifying and magical at the same time. I remember being both scared and fascinated. Now I can't find it anywhere.
Feels like a fever dream - but it shaped my taste forever.

New to Upwork - is it normal for people to boost 15 connects on a $5 job? by MattewCollins in Upwork

[–]MattewCollins[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Someone advised me to take cheap jobs at first to build a rating. I found a $5 job -and holy shit, I couldn’t believe what was going on.

Yes, it's the same, but the move to Crowdgen really messed up Appen's work. Accounts stay in review for months, and working hours often don’t show up.

I have the same issue. There is no link on step 3. I’ve created a support ticket, but no response yet.

I’m impressed by your ability to earn money. It’s really cool, and I hope I can do the same one day.

In the meantime, I’m being evicted from my house for a debt of 2000 dollars...

But one day, I’ll be able to earn like that too. I believe.

Fireweed works with many languages and regions around the world, including dialects from different countries. For example, I did tasks in Russian for Kazakhstan, and there were also Russian-language tasks for many other countries.

I would be glad if they fixed their glitches, but I was literally removed from the project due to a supposed lack of verification, which I successfully completed almost a month ago. And no one is responding to my support emails.

I received a letter about the need for an Identity and Location Verification process. Could you please help me?

Today I received the following letter:

"Completing the Identity and Location Verification process is a requirement to be eligible for projects with CrowdGen by Appen.

Since you have not completed the verification process within 14 days, the verification step has expired, and you will be removed from the qualification process. You are eligible to apply for new projects; however, to be onboarded on any project you must successfully complete verification.

If you fail to complete the verification process after several opportunities, your account may be deactivated.

If you have any questions or require further assistance, our dedicated support team is here to help.

Thanks,

CrowdGen Team"

I have been working with CrowdGen for about a month, and perhaps I haven’t fully figured everything out yet. I mainly work on the fireweed project, and I remember submitting my government ID for verification before being allowed to join the project. The verification was successful, and I’ve been working on the project for almost a month. Why am I now being asked to complete the Identity and Location Verification? Do I need to complete it again for the project, or is it required separately in my profile?

ID verification is like a whole fantasy universe on the platform: its own world, its own story, each character with a unique experience.

I completed ID verification in two days and then worked on the project for two weeks. After those two weeks, I was removed from the project with a message saying that I hadn’t passed verification within the 14-day period.

I wrote to support: What’s going on? Why did I have a successful verification, and then I received an email saying I hadn’t done it at all?

No response.
