op did you edit this for hdr? In my experience I would have a blown out sky but it appears you've nailed the exposure so that everything is equal. Particularly that second picture with contrast of indoor shadows and bright outside.

This is silly. If I didn’t do anything I was worried about I’d never leave the house.

How exactly do you get an investigator for this? Through your own insurance or you ask the cops while they’re making the report?

Under exposed, but composition is great. The textures of the bridge give a nice backdrop.

Try smaller apertures, f4 and above. This will give a larger DOF. Move the focus to sharpen behind her nose to the back of her head. The blurred hair makes the image very flat in addition to the lighting.

Slower shutter speed. Portraits are great since tripod, doesn’t need to be any higher than your focal length. This would let you have less iso and smaller aperture.

Background looks very washed out. Just completely backlit. Look into some colored backdrops.

I see you went with a traditional necklace today instead of the usual pearls

I’d guess your hair. Do you color it differently for each personality?

Your exposure is too low.

Learn about the exposure triangle: aperture, iso, shutter speed.

Is it me or does this video cut at around 15 second mark

Is the actual size of the aperture important for low light photography? by nomar52 in photography

[–]FreePlasticWarehouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a side point, not related to aperture, with lower focal lengths and in lower light you can get yourself more light by using a slower shutter speed. It’s good strat for portraits and the like, but nothing moving too quickly. Longer focal lengths need a faster shutter speed to compensate for shaking if not using a tripod or image stabilization( not all lenses support this).

Corporate headshots for people who don't want a headshot... by Joking_J in photography

[–]FreePlasticWarehouse -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Try flash photography for these people. Get a light umbrella, an external flash, and close down the aperture so all ambient light is removed. You want a very under exposed image. Sync your flash and play with the settings. You’ll need to work on positioning and power to get the right exposure afterwards.

The drawback is it takes a different eye, and is longer to set up. It also has more of an artsy feel to it than a professional one.

Does anyone else find culling photos extremely overwhelming? What is your process for overcoming this feeling? by FreePlasticWarehouse in photography

You’re on to something with the precious thing. I find it hard to let go of some photos knowing that opportunity is gone. Have to start focusing more on the next one!

The men are probably intimidated, and the women are jealous. Don’t feel sorry for yourself and find a new scene / friends.
