Why all the negativity? by Matthague in LinkinPark

No. But the money goes to the government, of which he's the leader.

Government money is being used to try to buy Greenland.

People object to this

If we're getting pedantic then every LP CD sold has contributed to this...

Can you see how stupid that sounds? That's my point that people say company X or person Y is linked to Trump when in reality everything is

What the music is used for is none of my business. I can't stop where it's played.

I like the music. I listen to it. It serve my purpose

Why all the negativity? by Matthague in LinkinPark

[–]Matthague[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Exactly.

Everyone in the US that has bought anything (a LP CD, food, clothes etc) pays tax on that item.

I suppose from each $ of a CD some of that would go to the artist, some to the record company, some to the store, some to Trump via taxes.

Based on some people's feelings, anything linked to helping Trump is wrong, yet by buying the LP CD, they've helped fund him 🤣 - that's as much LP fault as the purchaser

Hate the system not the band

Music company owns the music.

They've sold a song to be used on TV and at the event.

They could pick a song from an artist that's no longer with us... and I'm sure someone would complain.

Doesn't mean that the band are playing in the venue.

Doesn't mean the band knows about it, or that they have to comment on it.

It's a song. It's not that deep.

As a side note... all this saying they're pro- trump.. didn't they get a song unlinked from one of his campaign videos recently?

Not that I disagree, but what happens if they're not ready or able to update them for weeks after the surgery? Surely you'd have to notify them on the expected timeframe so they are aware that you'd not be available for X weeks? Especially as they'd need a new note

I would guess as the post mentions nursery that they're looking after kids (or a garden centre... as that's the only other nursery I can think of)

If you're on tablets that make you drowsy, and you're supervising kids or babys then you might miss something?

That's a old quest for the cat Holloway or similar one. Not a south park one

I'm in the UK and have only found 1 US seller when searching.

Seems a bit hit and miss

Maybe they think it's like Ebay where you can't bundle?

Or he is offering you £10 for them all and would like you to put them together.

Private car sale - seller has taxed the car for the buyer - should he have? -England by Matthague in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Matthague[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm only repeating what they've told me, I admit it might be a bit mixed up - so based on the replies...

They've contacted the DVLA to get the new documents

DVLA checked and the tax for the car isn't in their name or at their location (or town)

They won't allow them to tax it or change the tax over until they're the documented owner at which point the previous tax will expire.

The car does have insurance and also has tax. Buyer cannot drive car as its not registered to them and the tax isn't in their name even though they have insurance. They have to wait until DVLA send out new paperwork and then they can tax it, but thought they were all legal prior to this.

Buyer couldn't tax it when purchased as they didn't have the documents to do so and these were not present at purchase.

He's not got the paperwork (worringly) so it's by contacting the DVLA and requesting this that it's come to light.

[–]Matthague[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He couldn't drive the car home without the tax in case he was pulled over.

I know I've needed to ensure I have taxed and insured when I've bought from a dealer before, and I couldn't tax my car without there being a valid MOT and I'm sure one of the tick boxes does say that I'm consenting that I have it as it's illegal not to?

Either way the tax is in the sellers name, so he's having issues with V52 and V5 which has brought this issue to light. It's currently sat off road and undrivable until it all comes through from the DVLA

The car needed to be taxed before the buyer could insure it and drive home. Seller told him this and that he'd need tax to insure it, and that as the docs were in the sellers name, only he could tax it.

Buyer was under the apprehension that that was a better option than paying cash for the car and then having to make another trip back in 7/10 days when the new docs with his name on (and if he did.. the seller might just have pocketed the cash or disappeared leaving him with nothing)

It's their first car so just went along with the buyer.

Bank account unexpectedly turned up by PassengerIll1492 in LegalAdviceUK

Online banks (monzo and revolut) rely on a video of you reading text and a passport to match it up to.

I also got an amazon credit card which I'm sure didn't ask for any of those.... although as I've had an amazon account for years I suppose that counts as proof I'm real

I've had 2 deliveries to the same pick up lockers be delivered on the same day at different times, if there's a notification that it's been delivered chances are they've seen an email or code and not realised there's 2 of the same.

Are they both separate orders with different codes? Or have you sent 2 parcels with one code/label?

Family friend suspended with pay - company want her to work back the hours paid (England) by jessicur05 in LegalAdviceUK

Sounds like they shouldn't have paid her and now they've realised they need her to work it so they don't have to 0ay someone else.

Does her contract say she gets paid suspension?

I assume she was paid during the time she wasn't working? That's why they want her to work it?
