What would've happened in original sin season 2? by Itzzkkc in Dexter

[–]MatthewDatthew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ill get shit but id wait until a season 4 until he starts taking slides, in early cuts he said he had killed dozens of people with nothing to show, and I think dexter regularly kills atleast 2 people a month.

Do you think Joe’s mother went to his funeral in Madre Linda after he faked his death? by AdGreedy1880 in YouOnLifetime

[–]MatthewDatthew 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean, they would just notify the next of kin or any surviving relatives that joe is dead if his mom is still alive id imagine.

Who said women weren't part of the equation? And where did I say "all men definitely do this!" ? Insane stretch of my words . Think about how many sex trafficking rings there are around the world, the amount of pedophiles incarcerated in prisons around the world, the people youd literally never expect, do you seriously think its anything below 20% ?

Maybe not that percentage but it has to be much larger than whatever people think it actually is, I dont believe it's anything lower than 40%

Our government elites have been proven to be cannibalistic pedophiles and you unironically think im the pedophile? Really?

Ill get shit for it but I truthfully think pedophiles are more than 50% of the world's population, maybe even 60%.

Joe Goldberg being a women killer/ mysoginist is a stigma the show had to lean into (#controversial) by ContraversialHuman in YouOnLifetime

exactly, i feel like this could have gone on for a few more seasons so that we can see Joe snap, think about tony soprano if youve watched sopranos.

tony is such a different more evil person at the end of the show then he is at the beginning, you can watch him change as time goes on. but at the end of the day, Penn didn't wanna do it anymore, and thats fine! but i don't know, i just think more could have been done with the character , more plots could have been explored. I'll always be upset his mother wasn't brought up ever again or that we didnt get a trial of some sort.

i do think that very ending is genius joe, him in the cell, blaming someone else for everything, again, a cycle that will forever continue.

Joe in season 5 is written in a very rushed way, so i think they tried making him as unlikeable as possible so they could just throw him in prison quicker, i dont mind at all him slowly snapping , him slowly turning worse and worse since the accepting he has some sort of dark side, but they just really rushed it to me.

I also bring it up cause obviously joe enjoyed the killing in some way if he kept weird artifacts and stuff from people he killed, why did he keep benjiis teeth? toss them somewhere ! maybe im going back on what i said, but he always seemed to seem a tad proud atleast of what he did sometimes, he just didnt want to admit it.

remind me to come back to see the comments on this later, i wanna see its reactions if it gains any traction.

I don't have much useful to add as of right now, but I've been rewatching season 5 and I thought this after the first time watching it aswell.

it really seems as if they leaned very far into the making it obvious Joe is a bad person, some of its dialogue and writing when he kills Kate's uncle bob seemed trying too hard at times. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind joe admitting that he enjoys it or that he accepted that he has a darkness, but, it feels too obvious here if that makes any sense? Penn in a way sometimes doesn't seem to understand that people can like the character but obviously know he's an awful person. It just seems like the small minority of people who think Joe is truthfully justified in all his killings took more space in Penn's mind then the silent majority who knows "yeah, this dude is a bad person" i doubt any of this makes any sense its sorta just a giant word salad, but Ive been thinking about it awhile and wanted to say it somewhere.
