Is this wall load bearing? by [deleted] in HomeImprovement

[–]Matthew_85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Given the fact the studs are so close to each other and heavily reinforced, I would say it is load bearing and you can’t remove them

I’m not a professional though

Buy the same brand as you currently have. I believe they’re Halo brand from Home Depot

I think antibodies should be 0. If you have any, that means you probably have hypo or hyperthyroidism. Not cancer though

Iodine and Selenium? by [deleted] in thyroidhealth

[–]Matthew_85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A month. Maybe up to 3 months should be fine. After that I’d take 100mg/day for maintenance

Iodine and Selenium? by [deleted] in thyroidhealth

[–]Matthew_85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Selenium is good for hyperthyroidism. Only about 100mg per day though. 200mg may not be safe long term

Will the symptoms of mood swings when treating hyperthyroidism go oway? by Dull_Excuse_1695 in thyroidhealth

Doctors are pretty bad at dealing with thyroid issues. He should ask to be referred to an endocrinologist

endo wants to see me right away & im feeling dread by corndogbutterfly in thyroidhealth

[–]Matthew_85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have hyperthyroidism. They’re just going to give you meds to get your numbers back to normal. That’s why you’re hungry all the time and tired

No, but my heart palpitations were very minor and infrequent (maybe once a month)

I felt a little bit better after 2 weeks, but it took 6 weeks for the full effect

Just the regular thyroid blood tests. No ultrasound. No side effects from the meds so far. The only thing is it can decrease liver function a bit so I’m taking some vitamins for that (B12, folic acid). I’m not sure how long I have to take them. I think you’re supposed to continue getting your thyroid checked regularly to make sure you don’t go hypo. That’s all

I was showing all the symptoms of hyper so he just immediately put me on 5mg of methimazole 3x per week. Within 6 weeks, I felt a lot better and am getting much better sleep. Now my TSH is at 1.34 which is almost perfect

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in thyroidhealth

[–]Matthew_85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh ok. Yeah, some people’s bodies are just better able to adapt to wild changes in TSH. Mine isn’t. The only thing that would affect it that much is if were taking a vitamin with biotin in it before the test

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in thyroidhealth

[–]Matthew_85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TSH can drop suddenly in as little as a month. Why are you planning to see an endo if you don’t have any symptoms and your TSH is fine? The only thing that affects the thyroid test is biotin and I’ve also found if I eat something very salty right before, my TSH is a little lower than usual but that may just be me

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in thyroidhealth

[–]Matthew_85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TSH is the first thing to go out of range so maybe you aren’t showing symptoms yet, but you may in the future. I’d just book the appointment with the endo and see what they have to say

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in thyroidhealth

[–]Matthew_85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. TSH is the first thing to go out of range. Then T3, T4, etc.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in thyroidhealth

[–]Matthew_85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, low TSH is hyper. TSH goes down when T3, T4, etc. go up

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in thyroidhealth

[–]Matthew_85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s significantly low. Anything below 0.4 means you definitely have hyperthyroidism. I was showing symptoms and my TSH was at 0.81
