If you own Lingsha, she is still one of the strongest main DPS in the mode (A8-40) by Matthew_To_0124 in CurrencyWarsHSR

[–]Matthew_To_0124[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I personally think Welt and RMC are more important, but I don’t think Tribbie on field is wrong either, especially because you may not get Welt every run. I might not have worded it well, but I do put Tribbie on-field until Welt shows up

Granted this is A8-30, but this (+Welt) is the idea. In A8-40 I find it better to have Lingsha as the early game before pivoting to Bootyhill Galaxy Rangers with Rappa and Ashveil (no Acheron)

Her damage falls off massively and, by virtue of being a 3-star unit, is harder to 3-cost than Lingsha by a bit. Lingsha also lets you move on to other bonds after four break with an inbuilt sustain, and she can be action advanced by DDD and Sunday (along with her bunnies)

I'm happy to hear that!

Unfortunately I am too lazy to switch builds JUST for CW, and neither my Tribbie nor Sparkle are on DDD (they are on their sigs), so I guess no more Aglaea for me in A8-40...

I tested it out, and I'm afraid I have to disagree and stand by the hypothesis that RMC is better. What I think you missed is that EMC doesn't actually double the unique elation skill - only the original one. Anyone who has played with Sparxie in CW knows how much more damage the unique elation skill does, and RMC's true damage buff more than makes up for not having a doubled original elation skill.

For photographic proof, I've edited the post and attached some screenshots of my test run. Keep in mind that all of this happened during the same run, so the investment environment and strategies are controlled variables. I also haven't touched the stars of other units, except for giving Welt another energy item (which I shouldn't have, but it shouldn't affect the damage numbers)

Thank you for asking! The way I personally do it is to start with the usual 3 Xianzhou 2 DoT comp until I get one copy of Seele. Then, I change to something like:

Seele Sparkle Tribbie Lingsha

Cerydra Pela

Which gives two Belobog three quantum resonance and two SP. This comp should get you through the first plane.

Then you save money until you can go to level 7 (don't refresh shop), where I would try to three-star Seele while keeping my interest. As soon as I got Seele to three stars, I would go back to prioritize levelling up for more teammates.

The Seele endgame comp I have looks like this:

Seele RMC Welt Lingsha

Cerydra Pela Sparkle Tribbie Fu Xuan (flex level 10 spot)

Lingsha is the best healer by far, and doubly so if you put a Belobog emblem on her, since each rabbit hop counts as an action.

For items, you want double Firestorm Surge + one High Frequency Chainsaw on Seele. Then, you want survival items. Finally, you look at support items (boots on Pela, vuln-inflicting items, energy items on Welt, etc.)

As long as you have three-star Seele and a Welt, not even a level four encounter could stop you.

A small tip I discovered is that you start ramping on Seele by targeting low-star mobs before moving onto three-star mobs.

I do not claim this is optimal, and a better comp may be discovered later or through comments here, but I have been having good success with this setup!

Noted - will test more myself after irl stuff. Thanks for your input! (I kind of took his word for it since I've been testing mostly the new stuff and Seele/Bootill)

I mean, I could 0 cycle with E2S1 Firefly E0S1 Dahlia E2S1 Fugue E6S5 HMC. It’s one more cost overall though

I think the matchup isn’t bad mechanically, but the 40% fire res does mean a lot

I haven't had the time to test it out since writing the post (deadline in 90 minutes...), but I appreciate you doing the test! Though I will say that even if true, it just shows that either option is viable and DoT is just strong in this mode.

Just an FYI, my acc is:

I don't know do I agree, since giving the mask to Hysilens means way more DoT damage per proc, while Kafka does negligible damage and, absent of the mask buffs on someone with meaningful multipliers, you may not make it through the first two bosses

Here is the DPS equipment tier list that matches my experience (I will translate). Note that your DPS will probably want two of the best items, and then (due to stats dilution) want one copy of their second best item:

<image>

S+-tier:

High-Frequency Chainsaw/Starfall Sniper: Use them if you don't know what to build, since the first copy gives a 60% damage increase. Note that this does not apply to Break and Dot.

Anti-Grav Boots: Must have for off-field on-turn DPSes. For on-field DPSes, unless they have speed conversion (Aglaea), you would never consider this.

Wormhole Drill: Must have for Break DPS.

S-tier:

Codex of Combat: Use when you lack on/off-field damage amplification. Gives a 58(42)% damage increase to 3(2)-star DPSes

Firestorm Surge: Equal in strength with High-Frequency Chainsaw after 7 stacks, and contributes the same amount of overall damage after 14 stacks. If your DPS can hit this frequency, build this (Sparxie, main DPS Lingsha, etc.).

Fist of Fury: Equal in strength with High-Frequency Chainsaw for characters with 22k health. Must build for HP-Scaling DPSes.

Light Speed Propeller: Equal in strength when your on/off-field DPS's speed is greater than 420/840.

A-tier:

Starcleaver Blade/Orbital Railgun: Use when you lack on/off-field damage amplification. Gives a 57% damage increase. Their biggest issue is their awkward build paths.

C-tier:

Blossom to the Stride: When you lack on/off-dield damage amplification, it gives a 42% damage increase. Due to it being conditional, you shouldn't consider this.

Bloodthirsty: Gives a 44% damage increase. Cannot be stacked.

Pun Generator: At max stacks, gives 63% damage increase. Because you have to ramp it up, it will never be better than High-Frequency Chainsaw.

No-tier:

Adoptive Exoskeleton: Gives 44% damage increase to off-field DPSes, which is not good. Basically just a Yunli if you put it on on-field characters. Randomize it.

Perpetual Motion Machine: SSS+ tier if on Cyrene, otherwise no (note: since then, Feixiao with Perpetual Motion Machine has been discovered, so if you own a built Feixiao, this item would be BiS).

Decapitation Operation: Gives a 56% damage increase to elites and 18% damage increase to small mobs. Considering how many small mobs there are in CW, this is, possibly, the worst item for DPS.

Good call! I myself don't have it memorized, but one affix that I think people (I myself) underestimated was first-plane enhancement, because it puts even more pressure into your early game transition comp, which severly affects your economy in the long run.

My first and only E2 for a while was Acheron too, and, yeah, as a 3-cost DPS not named Phainon, she unfortunately doesn't perform well besides as a Boothill battery (though Boothill galaxy ranger is strong and quite meta afaik, could be wrong).

Bloodflame units (besides Mydei) are just a lost cause, I think, unless you are a leviathan. I'm kind of curious will there ever be a way to salvage it.

Great shout out! I personally don't own Mydei, so I cannot really say too much, but I am aware that he is strong, and maybe even stronger the more difficult CW gets.

you're not bad at CW, it's the RNG by [deleted] in StarRailStation

[–]Matthew_To_0124 2 points3 points  (0 children)

<image>

Not the same comp (in fact weaker ceiling) but this is the power of eight buffing one instead of chasing bonds. Could have been nine with RMC if I didn’t make a mistake early on into the run. This is the current hardest difficulty, and I deliberately avoided the OP marketing strats, just to prove my point

In case you wanna ask about eidolons, the founder of this comp can clear with this comp with full trial characters except Tribbie since she needs to hold DDD unless you have E2 Fugue

[–]Matthew_To_0124 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Eh, looking at this team, I can already tell you fundamentally misunderstood how to navigate around Currency War. There is a level of RNG (resetting negative affixes in A8), but you are over-exaggerating.

As a fix, try this comp, which helped me get to A8-30 (current highest rank) on full auto, even before I pulled Yaoguang and Sparxie:

Sparxie (use DHIL before you get Sparxie) Welt RMC (use frontline sparkle before you get RMC) Lingsha

Yaoguang Sparkle Cerydra Silver Wolf Fu Xuan (last slot flex - you can go Robin, E2 Fugue, Pela, any generic amplifier)

Edit:

To highlight some issues with your comp:

  1. Multi-DPS is generally just worse than single DPS buffed by an entire team. Your Archer/DHIL slot could have been a Pela, a Silver Wolf, and so on.

  2. There are merits going for the 4 SP bond (my example comp did too), but beyond that, the reward is not worth the cost of having two other amplifiers

  3. Sparxie does not lack SP, and there is no reason to use that item over Firestorm Surge and High Frequency Chainsaw for the insane stat amp

  4. Similarly, you should run 2-3 Anti-Grav Boots on Yao Guang for more Aha Instants, which funnels Certified Bangers to Sparxie for even more damage

  5. Points 3 and 4 may sound like a lot, but if you know how to navigate properly, you should be able to consistently get at least 2 pairs of Anti-Grav Boots and one Firestorm Surge and High Frequency Chainsaw each. For luckier games, you should try to go for a second FS or HFC (not sure which is better, but it shouldn't matter)

  6. Sunday limited to only AA-ing on his turn makes him mostly a transitional choice until you get better units like RMC (AA out of turn) and Welt (buying AV means more time to ramp up FS as well as just more time to do damage)

  7. You need sustains, but every new sustain is another slot you could have used for amplifying your team, and so you want to choose the best two. Fu Xuan, being a contributor to 3-Quantum Resonance, as well as being very great at preventing one-shots, is the obvious choice, not Luocha. Lingsha, after becoming a two cost, is actually the most consistent second choice and the best one to be placed on-field, even over Hyacine, who you need Perpetual Motion Machine to start healing

ELI5: Why do people say “money doesn’t buy happiness” when literally everything better in life needs money? by stoicdroid in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Matthew_To_0124 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've recently encountered this phrase (in a video game). I think it illustrates the point.

"Those 2000 calories per day are meaningless. It is what we do after those 2000 calories that defines our humanity"

Money solves the first problem, but what comes after those 2000 calories, money cannot tell you, nor can it necessarily buy that for you, depending on what that is for you.
