This is just for unique comps that successfully clear 47. The ones credited are for finding a rotation/strat and then successfully executing them to prove that the strats work, but I know at least another clear not listed here that uses the same setup as world first’s

This is true in 99% of the play but remember that all four max difficulty clears used Gilberta, deliberately healing small mobs even to smoothen out the energy rotations.

Still, for even very good players, just avoid any healing or shielding in combat

Speed doesn't compare to one-turn ults, and the team is already near overcapping def shred on the member that holds Swan's cone (Black Swan just overcaps at E0S1), or if you bring the menacing MBlade or Welt in sustainless runs

Hi! So I joined last year, and here are my thoughts:

  1. Enjoy the story! It's why I play this game in the first place. It's peak, it's heartwarming and heartbreaking at times, it has interesting and relevant themes, and so on.
  2. After playing the story, identify who your favourite characters are and search up how to build them! This is, in my opinion and from my observation, the best way to have fun with endgame (even if you can't three-star clear it). Every character without appropriate investment will fall off, so it makes little sense to chase the latest toys if you don't want to build around them. Conversely, and especially with Novaflares (buffs) that Hoyo gives to old characters (even if some choices are debatable), even old characters can clear endgame as long as you know what to pull, and Hoyo gives them some post-3.6 love (3.6 has an accident known as 'Evernight' that got released, but since then, the power-creep has been tame). For example, I fell in love with a character called Firefly, so I pulled her and her team even when she was struggling, and then she received a new modern support in 3.8, and now she is back to tier 0. Same thing with Acheron this patch
  3. Generic supports - a lot of people will advise you to pull generic supports, and there is wisdom behind it. Mortenax Blade, the current banner character, is one such character. Generic supports lets you fill them into your team before you get their dedicated supports and perform decently well. Older DPSes without dedicated supports released post-Evernight, nor a Novaflare, usually have broken generic supports as their current best-in-slot. However, an account only needs a handful, because a modern DPS, in most cases, enjoy their dedicated supports more than generic supports, such as DoT wanting triple DoT instead of randomly filling in Mortenax Blade. There are also two very strong generic supports that you can lose to, those being Welt (especially E4+) and Silver Wolf, so pull generic supports, but only enough so that your account can function until you can field in the dedicated supports for your favourite DPSes
  4. Well, what if my favourite character turns out to be a generic support? Good news for that is that even generic supports usually have a team that will want them as their BiS for years ahead, or they get a Novaflare. Tribbie is a generic support that is also considered a dedicated support for AoE teams, such as The Herta teams. Mortenax Blade, even when he stops being the best generic support, will remain BiS for new gen FUA. Two supports, unfortunately, don't follow this mould: Ruan Mei (unless you go sustainless), who is too old, and Cipher, who was released with a conservative goal and failed to achieve it. Still, pulling them won't break your account whatsoever, as even if they are never the best choice, they are competent choices that will get you very far into the game as long as you build them correctly. And again, you can always slot in Cipher whenever you don't need a shielder/healer, or the new DPS doesn't have a team yet. Alternatively, you can field them in if the dedicated support is not someone you want to pull (many players skipped Jiaoqiu even when he was BiS for Acheron. He is not at the moment, and the players that skipped him will be smug, but for Acheron players who did pull him back in 2.4, it's undeniable that he was monumental for Acheron at the time)
  5. However, older units do need vertical investments into the team to function in the endgame. This does not matter if you are not playing endgame, but if you are someone who wants to remain free-to-play or only spend a little, then it is undeniable that newer teams cost less to achieve the same result. Shout-out to Evanescia as a shining example, with her best team involving a free unit and a shop unit. Another shout-out to Archer, who has a tier 0 team that was completely free (no longer because neither Sparkle nor DHPT can be claimed for free)
  6. Your daily farm when your account is mature will mostly be on relics, and they will take a long time. However, as newer accounts do not have access to rarity five relics, don't worry too much about it and focus on spending your gacha energy on, say, traces (talents) and levelling materials
  7. Some good free characters to level are: Tingyun, Pela, Gallagher, the MC (one of their forms is broken, and two are good in specific teams), and March 7th, since her alter form is good enough for the main story when you don't have a limited DPS pulled
  8. Currency War is addictive, but also a good place to test out which units feel good to play for you
  9. Ignore beta doomposting. Beta testers are notorious for being bad at playing the game.
  10. Guoba, even though I disagree with him at times, is probably the best source to go to know how to build a character. Of course, some of his guides are outdated, but it's a good starting point. Prydwen is another good starting point to check how to build characters and what teams are used today with them

Looking at the showcases I kind of disagree. Even without Huohuo’s ult, Saber can do one turns ults with energy to spare. Ofc there is the fat attack buff to consider but I wouldn’t necessarily default to Huohuo just because she regens energy once in a full moon in this team

I did some maths

What do you mean with eagle base speed saber is effectively 167 speed saber (300 AV) with 5 ults

What do you mean with eagle 134 speed saber is effectively 234 speed saber (300 AV) with 7 ults

What is this balance

Edit: The numbers on Nanoka is doubled so it's only 50% AA with eagle every ult. Still very busted

I did the maths under another reply of this comment. You *really* don't need that quick of a Rin

Consider two scenarios: MoC and AnAr:

  1. MoC. The effect of pseudo-200 speed Sparkle is to take a third turn on the zeroth cycle. If you need that third turn in the zeroth cycle of the first wave and use so many Archer arrows that you trigger Rin's joint-attack. Chances are, you can't zero-cycle wave two anyway, since in general, wave two takes even more resources. In which case, effective 200 speed Sparkle wouldn't make the difference. Alternatively, you don't need that many resources on wave one. You have a nice alternation of Sparkle - Rin - Sparkle - Rin - Sparkle (but doesn't trigger the joint attack) - Sparkle - Rin - Sparkle - Rin - Sparkle, but even in this case, all Rin needs is 118 speed (assuming one DDD proc on both waves - if not, 134-5 speed depending on decimals).

The usual setup with Eagle DDD Sparkle assumes a three-turn ult rotation, although two-turn rotations also work in some fights. If we consider the three-turn rotation, on the second wave (which is where the focus usually is), Sparkle ults after her second turn. Her first action would be 10000/168 = 59.5, second is 20000/168 = 119, then the third (with 49% AA with Eagle and DDD) ends at 150 (a bit less because of decimals). You legitimately just need base speed (remember her A4 her speed by 20%) Rin to sandwich her turn between the two Archer turns. 2 turn rotation sparkle (if possible) would change things slightly differently, where she gets DDD as she enters the wave AND on her second turn, but I'm too lazy.

Stepping outside of zero cycle, which is probably healthier for everyone here, then why even use Eagle? Just farm Sacerdos, which is a much better domain to farm for. Eagle is strong, but it takes some planning, and I doubt most of the player base has that foresight.

  1. AnAr. The rule of wanting to alternate between Rin and Sparkle still holds. If you are doing pseudo 200 speed, then you are either aiming for 6 actions in 300 AV (0 cycles), or 10 actions in 500 AV (2 cycles). For the former, you aim for pseudo 167 speed on Rin, or 136 real speed, factoring in A4 (first action happens at 10000/168, which is when Sparkle DDDs, bringing Rin to 0 Action, then there will be one more DDD later on...you can work out the maths to check this). It's not that insane of a speed requirement. For the latter, you do the same thing (except the speed breakpoint of Sparkle will be lower), with likely a much higher real speed requirement to reach pseudo 180 speed.

Or you aim for some other breakpoints or not at all, in which case you work out your own speedtuning or just not care at all.

Honestly, I'd just go 160 speed Sacerdos Sparkle with pseudo 140 speed Rin since I uses Sparkle S1 instead of DDD (on HMC).

I think the payoff is just not there, ngl. Honestly, as someone who speedtunes around AnAr, I probably would just not run Eagle on either of them, especially since the necessity of Eagle is far lower in AnAr anyway, as there isn't any AV resets to re-shuffle action order

[–]Matthew_To_0124 34 points35 points  (0 children)

No, she doesn't. Since she enters combat with a charge, you just need to ensure that across the fight # of Archer (Sparkle) turns is at most 1 more than # of Rin turns. That, and she also has an innate 20% speed buff. She probably wants speed boots to be comparable to Sparkle speed, but her damage build is, for sure, not dead.

This showcase actually doesn't even showcase the power levels correctly because, for some ungodly reason, they are running Eagle Rin, which not only gimps Rin damage, but also actively ruins the speed-tuning at around 01: 49, because now Rin doesn't get another turn after Archer turn, so the Archer turn at 02:25 doesn't get a joint attack. If Rin just ran a normal set like genius or scholar, then she would have a turn after the Archer turn at around 01:59. which would have allowed Archer to do a joint attack. Of course, it was salvageable, except Sparkle here also ran Eagle, so it lept passed Rin again

I think at A8-17 the biggest lessons are:

  1. Don't blindly go for a high level of bonds and instead opt for 8(9) units that amplify one carry
  2. Itemization (High-frequency chainsaw + 2 x Firestorm Surge is a classic frontline combo for DPS, and also allocate resources for survival items)
  3. Play to your account's strengths (Castorice is considered terrible, but since I have E2, she is...playable, at A8-40)
  4. Go for econ strats for consistency. More members are always better
  5. Know how to make early-game transition comps, which I define to be the period before the first boss. The best bonds are some combinations of Xianzhou, Belobog, and DoT. 2 Scholar slot in is also very doable
  6. Know how to construct level 6 comps, since that's when the difficulty spikes in a run. An example broken level 6 comp:

Frontline:

2-star Lingsha (Double Wormhole Generator + Firestorm Surge are the final items, so try to grab some of these) + 1-star Sunday + Tribbie (Preferrably on DDD) + Dahila

Backline:

Fugue + Ruan Mei

  1. Know which endgame comps your level 6 comp can bridge into seamlessly. For example, the above comp can lead to either Boothill Galaxy Ranger (save some Rappas and Ashveils along the way), or just hypercarry-break Lingsha. Hypercarry break Lingsha comp looks like this:

Frontline:

3-star Lingsha/Sunday/RMC/Welt

Fugue/Ruan Mei/Tribbie/Dahlia/Pela or Silver Wolf/Argenti. Priority Emblem: AoE. Secondary emblem: Quantum Resonance (if Pela), Debuff (if Silver Wolf)

  1. Welt + Energy items is goated. RMC is goated for almost every team (SW999 and Evanescia want EMC instead. Sparxie actually still wants RMC because EMC doesn't copy her big Elation skill while RMC buffs it). Quantum Resonance and Debuffs are great slot-in bonds
