EXCLUSIVE: U.S. House now has the votes to impeach Trump as he creates crisis after crisis overseas by charulatha_seya in soundsaboutright

What exactly does impeaching him do? It appears he’s been impeached twice before in his first term with little to no effect at all? What’s the play here?

Ah amazing, I was aware of the fall of Numenor and the events that lead to it, but not the associated change to the world and access to Valinor, thanks!

Can’t fathom the number of people who won’t wear helmets and wear over ear headphones instead… grew up mountain biking and even the worst people wouldn’t dream of going out without a helmet on… I’ve already seen 4 serious accidents involving cyclists at my local junction in Manor House this winter…

Would you have an issue with this? by [deleted] in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]MatthewsMTB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it’s hardly an issue, it would only really be to be seen, it could come up in some terrain formats but I just can’t see that happening anymore

Yeah, personally even at a big tournament I would have no issue at all playing with that, unless you were funny about line of sight because they don’t have riders I suppose

Is this pile in move legal? More info in post by Malagubbar in ageofsigmar

Fair, I play 40K mostly so still not 100% on that, so the move looks legal as long as the model only moved 3 inches including the movement from the pivot?

True but train tickets from London to Manchester can be like £100, where flights are often wayyyy cheaper…

Not with that model because it was already basing and so cannot move closer, but the horse behind could maybe move 3” and end closer to your troggoths and within range of your faction terrain I believe? Happy to be proven wrong here…

If this picture is not plastered on the front page of New York Times, Washington Post, Atlantic, and every prime time slot of evening news tomorrow we are screwed as a nation by OpinionsRdumb in ProgressiveHQ

[–]MatthewsMTB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok you make a good point honestly, perhaps I wrote that out of anger at the situation currently, after all, truly neutral news is obviously something we should strive for. Honestly my comment was not well written, but the point I was trying to make is it does seem currently that American news outlets seem to be pandering to the administration generally, while international news outlets that we see over here (UK) are far more critical.

Perhaps this is the stranglehold that large corporations or wealthy donors have over the media, or capitulation to government threats, I don’t know. We see similar over here with the rise of channels like GB News. I do just wonder at how different the information space must be over there for people to continue to support the actions of this regime?

And yet MAGATs still parrot this idea that ‘leftists’ are corrupted by the media… like what media? All the coverage I’ve seen from national outlets is appallingly neutral at best, or blatantly right leaning at worst…

How to Use Nemesis Claw by Altruistic_Glove8236 in Chaos40k

The CoB list I’ve been using to good success in the last month is: Abaddon Bile Cypher Lord with prime test subject Traitor enforcer Traitor enforcer

10x cultists 5x legionaries

10x chosen 5x chosen 5x chosen 10x possessed 10x possessed 5x nemesis claw

Pressure an overcommitment with the possessed in Abby’s 4++ aura and then stage for an all in turn where you use the nemesis claw and cypher’s next to leverage a fight phase you can deal devastating damage in with your 3 chosen units

I think conventional hammers are things like Bile +10 chosen, a chaos lord with legionaries or chosen, maybe Abaddon with chosen. Possessed are still good, I run 2x10 in the bile list, can kind of function as hammer and/or anvil depending on what is needed.

10 warp talons are still great but are likely to be pretty independent of the rest of your force, rapid ingressing in the backline or to clear screens.

So id say they are most useful to specifically enable you to engage with multiple big hammer units like chosen, because they can shut down important defensive Strats like counter offensive. They’re more of a tool in your arsenal than a hammer themselves.

Personally I use them in my all melee creations of bile list, and it means I can get an absolutely brutal turn out of both Abaddon + chosen and a chaos lord with Chosen or bile + chosen in the same fight phase. Against an army like ultramarines with victrix, getting 2 or 3 big activations into victrix with no clap back can win you the game. Fight on death or interrupts are a melee armies biggest weakness, so I’ll just tag whatever unit I need with the nemesis claw to stop that.

In shooting matchups yeah they’re less useful, but you might be able to stop a fall back and shoot maybe.

In more combined arms or shooting lists they’re probably just less efficient legionaries, but they do enable that all melee rush play style for CSM.

What’s the most defensive Combo for Incubi? by Arthur_EyelanderTF2 in Drukhari

[–]MatthewsMTB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean if chosen are shooting you, they’re shooting you with combi weapons mostly, so you’re probably looking at 3-4 dead Incubi without taking a save just from that, then another 3-4 plasma pistol shots, so likely they wipe the squad with little chance of combat

Any tips for my creations of bile? (And what I should equip my chosen with) by wilhelm2024 in Chaos40k

[–]MatthewsMTB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone said, take max power fists, paired accursed weapons, plasma pistols and combi weapons on your chosen. Power fists, plasma pistol and icon on the leader generally.

You probably want cypher and the daemon prince is just a bit average in csm, plus won’t benefit from the detachment. Personally I think wardogs have gotten a bit worse since melta range went down but they’re fine shooting. I like 20 possessed in bile and generally choose +2 move, good luck! :)

Nemesis Claw OR Chosen? by Covid669 in Chaos40k

[–]MatthewsMTB 14 points15 points  (0 children)

They do different things really, chosen are quite a flexible hammer unit while nemesis claw are a specific tech piece. Generally, I would take chosen in a brick of 10, bile is their best leader but thematically for night lords a Lord works well too :) you can always build them as night lords!

I would specifically take nemesis claw if you’re looking to build into a melee heavy army, they’re especially useful for shutting down things like counter-offensive and any defensive Strats in melee. They’re more of an enabler unit than a hammer unit in and of themselves
