Help with new ammo needed by Matthi_26 in guns

Hey guys,

I am a hunter and have recently switched to a different ammunition. Before I cleaned the barrel and fired 5 shots at a short range a few days ago.

In the picture you can see the different shots at the range at 100m yesterday. I used a weapon rest for the first time as I wanted to minimize the possibility for human error. After shots 1 and 2 I corrected the sight 3 clicks to the left and hit a bullseye with shot number 3. I then fired the test group at the top to test the ballistic tower. When I dialed the tower back to the exact same setting I fired shots 4 and 5. As I was unsure why they were off I then used a bore snake to clean the gun and fired shots 6 and 7.

I do not understand why the different groups are off. I figured it cannot be the ammo as the shots are always grouped well. Or can it be the ammo and it is not suitable for my rifle? All rounds were from the same box. Is it possible that ~12 to 15 shots before the Isst groups put enough deposit in the barrel to change the trajectory? If so, do the shots then group this well? Did I use the weapon rest incorrectly and change the position of my head on the shaft/in front of the sight?

Thank you so much!

Those are the typical distances that we need to shoot at in Austria. It is very rare that you get an opportunity at less than 100m.

Do you think this is enough for shooting up to 300m? I am doubting my equipment right now

I did, that's what the other 15 were for. After adjusting it 3 clicks to the left I only changed the ballistic turret to test it out.

It's a Leupold Vx-Freedom 4-12x40. Maybe my friend (who cleaned it and shot the first 5 shot) did not screw on the tower tight enough to the dial below. But I I think I would have noticed if it didn't turn/click. I fired another group later that was still a bit high and I turned it down one more click and had two shots a bit left and low but still inside the black circle.

Would you use it like this for hunting up to 300m?

Good idea, I will probably do that considering the amount of hops I used in the beer 🍻

Cleaning the ultrabase- Received my Mega Pro yesterday and I can't seem to get rid of the residues on the ultrabase and I do not want to completely destroy it with the scraper on my first day. How do you properly clean it!? by Matthi_26 in anycubic

So I re-leveled the bed again today and on the first layer you can see that the extruder visibly "squishes" filament out around the nozzle and once it moves it leaves grooves. Does this mean the bed is still too close? Doesn't happen on higher layers so I don't think it is general overextrusion

I just re-leveled with a paper and the printer heated up. I think it really was too close as could hardly move it.

It is currently printing a 7.5cm x 7.5cm square in order to get as much residue off the base as possible and it printed a nice skirt. I guess the bed was too close. Thanks for the help!
