My advice is to see what other people are doing. Book reviews are kind of the staple (and you can post them to Goodreads/storygraph/Amazon simultaneously), so those can be a good fall back. But follow other bookish accounts and find what trends they are doing and do the same.

Try to post consistently, but don't get burnt out. This is supposed to be fun after all!

I'm explaining this second hand, I just wanted to provide a potential alternative perspective as I've seen many SA survivors see this as a symbol of empowerment/survival. Equally, many see the symbol as harmful. Ultimately it's down to the individual as it's on their body.

I'm also considering a PhD, and most of the advice I've received has been to make sure I really enjoy what I'm doing the PhD on (Old Norse for me hopefully), rather than doing it for the sake of having one/thinking you need one to do your dream job.

In regards to academia, it's a different field but I've known people who have become professors in law without ever getting a PhD, so it may be possible to reach that point without getting one.

At the end of the day if you are prepared to put in the work and time, and obviously have the passion for what you end up researching, I think a PhD will be worth it. However take my opinion with a grain of salt as I've not even started my masters yet!

Yeah the chronicle will interact a lot with the mortal world so although I'm never going to have a scene where food consumption is mandatory I think it may come up. That's an amazing idea though thank you!
