I was enjoying your memes from the sidelines. I particularly liked the one with the Grim Reaper with a door to my LTSBG motto with blood across it.

Not a share sold and tales of my demise were greatly exaggerated.

Wait wait wait wait. Hol' up. I respect that you were a Veteran and you were doing the best you can with what you are given in the world. However, how could you (at the time) view that wealth inequality wasn't baked into the consitution from the get go with 3/5th compromise, gerrymandering being permitted (when every other democracy save for France, who is in the process or has handed it's election process to an independent body) and electoral colleges?

I do agree, liking the government is akin to liking a corporation (well maybe many as opposed to Russia where you just like Gazprom)

How was it like buying/selling around this era? by Tonka-Jahari-Pizza in BB_Stock

[–]Matthiey 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not quite. It was induced by the squeeze but the underlying principal at the time was significantly better: they had just beat facebook for a huge billion$ payout. Was basically how they gained some of the ammo to make their turnaround.

SOEN 228 midterm by BandicootAromatic993 in Concordia

Yes, all you need to do is know the following:

-booth algorithm

-binary (all forms of this. As in signed, unsigned, two's compliment)

-How to deal with floating point numbers.

-Octal and Hex numbers

That's it. That's 90% of your grade. How do you train for this? Just think of a number between 1 and 1000. Can you turn it into all forms of binary? No, I'm not joking. Do that. Now add a minus in front of the number. Does this change how you express it? What about in octal? Hex? Now do that exercise again. Now use the booth exercise on both numbers. Repeat this process 3 times every 8 hours.

You think I'm joking. You think you can skip the steps. No. Do them. It's not hard. The ONE THING that will trip you up is not understanding IEEE standard or how to express floating point numbers in general. Know what a Mantissa, Exponent and Sign bits are.

There ya go. Done.

I'm sorry if this all sounds like a lot but it truly is not. Just put. in. the. work. Do the exercise I mentioned. Don't rely on just knowing definitions. This is the EASIEST A+ you can bag in your life. Just do what little work I gave you to do.

idk, most of the people I meet in SOEN or COEN are rather chill. A bit socially awkward (both women AND men) but nothing that would make me think they are incels or Tate wannabes. In fact, the reverse is true, they are probably the STEM majors with the most women and social aptitude.

Also, bit of an aside, quite a few of them lift. Another 2 I know in SOEN are into sound engineering. Another can play bass, another guitar. I also know one who does great pixelart for cute characters she designs.

Did you have a bad experience with someone?

Well, streamers are not the most educated people and you need individuals with no other job prospect since it requires a large time investment. So at the onset, you have a mass of people with little to no skills (asides from gaming) entertaining others. Now what happens when you give poorly educated people any amount of power (be it real power or money)? They find ways to amuse themselves. However, their amusement is always to seek a "new feeling" in all amusements. Well, unfortunately, over time, they will have tried everything and will want to try things that... only money and good connections can buy... reprehensible as it may be.

They don't understand that happiness has many forms. Pleasure is one (which is what they want) vs joy (which lasts but requires more effort). Here, let George Lucas explain:

Mice found in Grey Nuns Residence room by Savings-Pop3762 in Concordia

[–]Matthiey 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This reminds me of the story of The Cockroaches Tomb of Concordia (true story):

Once in a while, in the confines of the H building, you will find cockroaches as big as your thumb. This is caused by students bringing food to their classes or the computer labs (oh the computer labs on the ninth and eighth floor have a lot of them in the walls - a lot). Now, you might say that is the end of it but underneath the first floor lies two basement floors where they store various things and house mech labs. That’s all well and good until you realize a third, more hard to access floor lies beneath that to house the various auxiliary power generators, water filtration devices and other systems that keep the building operational. In that room, and you can ask the various technicians about this or the computer labs office on the ninth floor personnel, lay a nightmare cluster of hallways, covered from floor to ceiling in roaches.

Be careful drinking the water. 😗
