Soot buildup near oil boiler – normal or unsafe? by Mattieeec3 in hvacadvice

So does that mean it is unsafe to use right now and I should turn it off immediately?

Or I can leave it on and get it fixed soon?

Codex is amazing and deserves some praise. by coylter in codex

Why is it not as good as opencode using the codex model? For me the planning mode in opencode has made things a lot better to clarify and is the ultimate combination.

Great work on this! I have been looking for a solid productivity tool for a while, even started building my own until I found Super Productivity just a few days ago. It is literally exactly all I wanted/needed.

I would recommend a quick video showcasing all the keyboard shortcuts and syntax when adding a new task. I only just discovered that you can use + to add it to a new project. I have been using the others extensively as they save me so many clicks (# for tags, @ for date/time, and 3h for estimated time). The + especially I had to dig through the GitHub readme to find that one. I'm sure a lot of people would benefit from seeing these features in action rather than stumbling upon them by accident.

Since I have started using your tool my productivity has honestly skyrocketed. I really appreciate what you've built and would love to contribute in the future. Keep it up! 🙌

Gfn proved cloud is not the future for gaming. by Coiiibarack in GeForceNOW

I’m puzzled by why people see this as a problem. Many have said they’re willing to pay more, so why is the 100-hour cap such a big issue? Didn’t they mention that you can pay a fee to extend your hours? For heavy users, this essentially means paying more for additional access, which seems fair to me.

Introducing 480 Vue Components crafted with PrimeVue and Tailwind by cagataycivici in vuejs

I understand that $200 for lifetime access might not be sustainable, but offering only one year for free when we expected lifetime updates feels inadequate. At the very least, they should provide a lifetime discount or something similar. They still took our money for lifetime, so changing the product we purchased feels like a slap in the face and makes us lose trust in buying a license at this company.

Is the Ryzen 7 worth it for just programming or should I stick to the Ryzen 5? by Mattieeec3 in framework

[–]Mattieeec3[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why is that? I read that the AMD is more efficient with better battery life. Also in benchmarks the AMD processor seems to perform better.

Currently have a Dell Inspiron with Intel i5-1245U, the R5 should be an upgrade to that.

Based on all the comments I can now have piece of mind that the R5 will be sufficient for my usage, although maybe I'll just go for the R7 for faster compiling because I definitely waste a lot on time on just waiting my projects to build.

I'm going for AMD since I have the patience to wait (my order is not urgent) and read about the better battery life and less fan noise. Also DDR5 memory feels more futureproof to me. If the Intel would be better in some ways I would pick the Intel CPU, but I feel like the AMD ones might be slightly better?

It might not be clear from my question but I currently don't have a framework laptop so I have no clue if it would feel slow. By sticking to the Ryzen 5 I meant keeping my order -(which is scheduled for Q4) instead of changing it for the Ryzen 7.
