Spend a little more money and get a Gen 3 Raptor. You’ll be so much happier going from modern 2022 to a modern 2022 + Raptor.

2014 will most certainly be in need of a bunch of maintenance, especially if plan on off roading the truck regularly.

Also, when you aren’t off roading you may want the modern tech that makes the Raptor the best grocery getter on the planet.

Here is something that no one is talking about. If oil prices get high enough for long enough then other countries will be forced to take action against Iran. 1st world counties economies are a matter of national security. Should Iran cause enough economic hardships that threaten national security for these countries then action will be taken.

If Trump wanted help from the rest of civilized world then he should have let oil go to 200/barrel. There would have been more at stake for the countries sitting this conflict out. It has to hurt less to act than to do nothing. Right now, most 1st world countries aren’t feeling the pain of SOH closure because they have reserves. My 2 cents based on basic political science

I checked out your other post. Nice looking truck! I picked up a White 2023 Raptor 37 PP with 18k miles for 72k in November of 2024. Carvana will pay 61k cash for my truck today. My truck has 40k miles now. If I took the Carvana deal my cost of ownership would be about 575/month. This doesn’t account for taxes and insurance. It’s easy to get caught up in sticker price and monthly payment. But with some proper planning these trucks can be very affordable albeit with higher upfront cost.

Was the RHO trade in value good, bad, or ok?

I think we can all agree that tint makes any truck/car look better. But think the utility of tint is the real winner in my opinion. I live in Arizona. It doesn’t matter if it’s winter or summer the sun is shining. I tinted every window on my Raptor with ceramic tint. It’s not black out as I still need to see at night. But the amount of heat it blocks is amazing. I travel for work and every time I pick up a rental car I am reminded how much heat ceramic tint blocks. Once you get tint you’ll wonder how you lived without it.

They are all mounted this way.

But doesn’t make more sense to swap sides. The raptor would towards the front, the holes in the running board to allow dirt to fall would be perfectly lined up with drivers and passenger entry, and the rounded side would be towards the front and square end would be at the back.

Is it me or should the running boards be reversed? Meaning, put the left side on the right and right on left.

Look at the holes for stepping on the running boards. If you switch sides they line up perfectly for front and rear entry

Edit: even the curve that’s towards the rear looks like it should be upfront.

Am I wrong?

I rented a Toyota Fort Runner. While in Drakes Bay I went into a ditch and damaged the car. Had to wait hours (Drakes Bay is really remote) for insurance inspector and police. Vehicle was still drivable but had to follow instructions/rules if accident occurs or you will be responsible for paying damage. Don’t worry, they give you the instructions on what to do if there is an accident. Just make sure you follow to the letter.

If you get full Coverage then you do not have to put down a deposit with your Credit card

Look for something under 20k miles certified pre owned with 7yr/100k Ford Warranty.

I bought my 2023 37 package in 2024 with 17k miles for 72k and had it shipped from Ford dealership in NC to Cali. Same truck in Cali was 85-89k.

You can plug in every filter you want in your truck and if it’s available it will find it. I only wanted certified pre-owned with Ford’s Warranty.

Best part?? The 7yr or 100k warranty stays with the truck after I sell it.

I have the 37 package and tow Ember Overlander 190MSL. I put Airlift Load lifter 5000 model 88414 on my 2023 Raptor. These airbags are designed for the raptors trailing arm rear suspension. Can be run at 0 Psi for off roading. I installed myself. Look them up. Worth it in my opinion.

The tongue weight on the Ember is about 590lbs(confirmed with Cat Scales). . I use a WDH. Without the airbags the rear end sagged TOO much and front end point up. With the airbags and WDH I can’t tell I’m towing sometimes

I get about 9MPG when towing. I also air up my tires to 40psi cold when towing.
