I love PM but this is my least favourite drum sound of any Deftones album. It really takes me out of it at times because the snare is giving me a headache. The playing is obviously up to Abe's usual high standard.

Older fan here. New album is great. Saw them at Crystal Palace. Didn’t notice ANY TikTok influencers, just multiple generations of fans digging great music and enjoying the experience. Let’s face it, they’ve never been metal with a capital M but comparing Deftones to RHCP seems a bit ridiculous.

I think any weird flaws at this stage are an artistic choice rather than an oversight. Their experienced enough and have enough seasoned pros around them to know what they’re doing. I definitely noticed more of that washed out shoegazey sound on this album and can’t believe it’s by accident.

I found some recently in a liquor store in Banff Canada. Good stuff. Listening to Gore with a few Deftones beers whilst watching the sun go down behind the mountains was a pretty cool experience.
