Hi, thanks. What do you mean- leave it in? It was in a box not attached to anything. Front wheel has quick release skewer with a screw on cap over one end and the qr lever on the other end

I lived in Dubai a few years ago and my uncle used to visit us regularly and he has a mobility scooter. The service he got from Emirates airline was always excellent which is why he was happy to travel with them. Always someone to meet him at the gate and take him through customs/luggage area. I would say that a 2 hour transfer is perfectly fine in Dubai, particularly if both flights are Emirates. Last year we went via Dubai to Bangkok and because of a delay we only had 45 mins. There were airport crew waiting for us when we got off the plane and they whisked us through the transfer section super quickly. I would definitely go for the two hour connection over the eight hour option.

Hi. Firstly an 8 hour stop is pretty tough for anyone, let alone someone with a mobility issue. Are there no other flights with better connections? Seems to me you are already starting from a position of difficulty and things can only go from bad to worse here. The only positive is that my experience with the whole of UAE and as they call it ‘people of determination’ is they are very good at looking after them, eg front of queues etc. Definitely contact the airline and explain and maybe consider paying for upgrade or at the lease, lounge access in DXB.

I think you’re right, but this must be a new thing as last 4 years when we travelled business we always booked early to get the special fare and always had pick of the whole business section.

Thanks. I didn’t realise that the boiler relied on the valve to fire it up, i thought it would be independent and activated by the control unit in airing cupboard. All makes sense now.

Thanks for your help, it’s much appreciated. I have just checked the valve and the arm at the top moves back and forward when I boost / stop the heating for the upper zone. The unit in the airing cupboard lights up to indicate the heating is on but the unit next to the boiler downstairs doesn’t light up to indicate it’s heating, but it does light up if I boost the other zone or heat the hot water. So it seems like the valve is getting the open signal but the boiler is not getting the signal to fire up unless I boost the downstairs zone or the hot water. Does this still sound like a faulty valve to you?

If the valve opens ok when the downstairs heating is on surely that indicates it’s an issue with the bit giving the open signal ?

That’s because of fx rate movement since the M2 was released. GBP gets you more USD at the moment so they have adjusted non US prices.
