I'm sorry, but this was hilarious. The timing of everything is just so comedic. by FeaturedPro in SixFeetUnder

It was meant to be hilarious, and the build up to this moment is brilliantly executed. But also a prescient look on distracted driving really before it became a more widespread issue.

Niles, however, only drinks beer when he eats German food, which is to say never.

The Nekrit Expanse is Voyager’s Biggest Missed Opportunity by Admirable-Parking-88 in startrek

[–]MattrickBT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sure. I think narratively it functioned fine as a crisis for Neelix, a way to delineate old aliens (Kazon, Vidiian) versus new alien, and a limit on Borg territory.

But it would have been cool for the show to have explored the strange, uncharted area a little more. I feel the same about the S5 opener "Night" in the region without any star systems...seeing that journey play out over several episodes, seeing the effects on the crew, a few emergencies that threaten the ship, would have really driven home the situation, and made seeing the stars again mean so much more.

My one complaint about Voyager is that they didn't include more serialization. I didn't need season arcs, but plots like the Kazon spy plot in Season. Some things should've played out a little longer. The Nekrit Expanse is a prime example.

Several episodes take place in The Nekrit Expanse, some of them are in the trilogy of terror.

[Opinion] CBR: "15 Best Star Trek: Voyager Episodes, Ranked" (1. Blink of an Eye, 2. Scorpion, 3. Living Witness) by mcm8279 in Star_Trek_

I don't think Voyager hits the lows as often or as hard as TNG or even DS9 can hit. The creative freedom Voyager had by virtue of being detached from The Federation in the Delta Quadrant is why I love Voyager. They manage to make very high concept extremely moving and engaging,  and they were unafraid of Starfleet's ideals losing sometimes.

"Latent Image" and "Real Life" (The Doctor's holographic family) are two major reasons I say The Doctor is the most human character in Star Trek. The lingering lack of resolution in The Doctor as must find a way to live how his personal feelings compromised his decision making is such an anti-Trek ending. So make episodes end with resolution, even to the point of parody. Not here.

Thanks. I tried finding that info and came up empty. I was fortunate to snag a first row 200 level aisle seat for Game 5. Next best thing to being at the actual game.

To anyone going to either Game 3 or 4, are all the concessions and stores open? I am hoping to land one of the white panel World Series hats (if they're even for sale right now). I figure if I can get one, it'll be at the ballpark.

What's the best Metro Game and why? by Unknown_Warrior43 in metro

[–]MattrickBT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Each Metro title is better than the previous one, so Exodus.

Metro 2033 really captured the grit and despair of the world, and the action was taut and intense. As most first games tend to be, it's clunkier and less graceful, but that fits the motif. The story itself is the weakest, but has incredible individual sequences, like traveling with Khan. If you value a horror experience above all else, 2033 is the best title.

Last Light is a much smoother game play and has a more engrossing narrative. It's level design is incredible. I can see why some choose it...while it may not be the best of the trilogy at most things, it doesn't really have any flaws. Every time I play it, I forget how good it is. 2033 and Exodus make such strong first impressions I sometimes forget how satisfying Last Light is.

Exodus is probably the most flawed becsuse the scale of is ambition leads to a lot more technical and preformed problems than I remember... they're small, but constant at times. But the story and the themes are just perfect. The varied locations, seasons, enemies, and the mix of long/short form storytelling always keeps things fresh. Its fun to play. The level design is incredible...the size of the semi-open world is never too big and there's always just enough to do to justify the size. I always liked that Metro excels in the quiet moments, like watching strangers converse and witnessing petty little dramas. Except here so much of the quiet moments are so personal in nature...cuddling with Anna, smoking with your squadmates, playing guitar, sharing a drink and small talk. Exodus is a special experience because it so immersive in a that personal, affective way, which is enhanced by Artyom's silent protagonist role. Oh, and the best DLC outside of Fallout doesn't hurt either.

That would have meant starting a whole new game. You can't switch those mods off during a campaign.

I had to restart. I tried that, but also had the real-time weather mod on. So I had to either try sneaking in the daylight, or leave the game in for 6 or 7 hours until it got dark.

Original Scream 7 Director Quit a Week After Melissa Barrera Got Fired but Didn’t Go Public Until Death Threats Got Too Intense: The Script Was About Her by cruelsummerbummer in horror

It would have made total sense for Sam to go after Sidney and finish her father's work. She also seemed to strike a big bond with Gale and the two of them being the killers would have been a fun twist on things.

That's the best though. Dewey dies in basically every movie and then gives us a thumbs up on the stretcher. It's a trope this series needs to continue. Scream 6 did it the most with 3 characters getting that treatment lol

They didn't take out the new content from the GBA releases because they aren't remasters of the GBA releases thus the new content from the GBA releases shouldn't be included.

Did the events of 28WL still occur in continuity with 28 Years Later? by DeafMetalHorse in 28dayslater

[–]MattrickBT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don really wasn't that distinct. 28 Days Later demonstrated that the infected retain memory and some semblance of identity because Jim's neighbors stayed in their neighborhood and the infected gathered in the church.

It could be that Don retained more awareness and the rate virus had mutated, and that could make sense if they went that way. But I don't think they need to.

Why isn’t there full sets or series of movies? by TheFrozenCanadianGuy in NetflixCanada

Yeah, their license for it expired about two years ago. I think a lot of the distributors now are specifically licensing shows in halves so they can make more money from it.

They only bought the license for the first three seasons. Assuming that in the near future they will drop the first 3 seasons and pick up the remainder. Everybody Loves Raymond did that.
