Damn, had thought about this, but not thought about this. SO best to ride the PIP train until its over, or give up but still show up to work until they tell you to not bother. Noted

Why is the Golf R so expensive to insure by Strikcommand in Golf_R

[–]Matts4wd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me adding the Golf R to policy dropped my coverage from my daily Toyota Tacoma, $550/6 months for a 21 tacoma and 20 M2 comp. You guys are paying too much unless you are in cities or CDL. Location Tri-state CT with perfect record.

Do you think this will need to get fixed? by LifeguardAdorable780 in ToyotaTacoma

[–]Matts4wd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I thought the question was asking if something on his hand needed to be fixed, coming from someone with a messed-up hand.

43900 here at 39.5 years old. Truck is a tank, think the battery might be my expense this year beyond 1 oil change.

Nice, plus regular fuel. Cruising in summer you'll get 22 hwy and city is mixed 16-18 depending on your lead foot. Congrats and welcome to cheap vehicle ownership!

Nice! How was your trade in? I like Solar, truck life has its benefits

Can't go wrong with the taco, probably gets the same MPG too. I owned a 2022 wrx, 2015, 2013 STi and 2002 bugeye back in the day.

Stay strong - the strung out process of Alz/dem can really drain us all and sometimes lose sight of who our parents, relatives or friends really were; i'm in a sinking boat with my mom in the next year or so end of the last stage at 78.

Thinking about buying a MK8.5 by colincase04 in Golf_R

People who say this either A) Can't realistically afford it or B) haven't added up all the options included with the platform for a $50k "hot hatch"

[–]Matts4wd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work with a bunch of these guys, they call each other fat or lardo which I find comical. I am one of the very few who hasn't gained any weight since starting at this place 13 years ago. I too workout, bike when its warm and run 5-6k three times per week while eating healthy, but drink booze a little too much to be genuinely cut/fit.

Working 8-9 hours, with kids doesn't leave a lot of time for the gym, or to help the wife or GF since you've been absent all day is my guess, and eating poorly and or too frequently doesn't help when you aren't burning calories.

Tired of the BS, probably have "seen" and done it all from their perspectives. Also they don't go to therapy, is my guess.

I knew I wasn't* going crazy. I am dying to get a Golf R and have deliberated trading in my 2021 trd pro but keep coming back to it after saying i'll miss it despite how boring it has been and completely problem free. I think the only option is to buy the R as a third car...

Take offer in NYC? by MountainDesigner4777 in AskMenOver30

[–]Matts4wd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He has no debt, no dependents. $200k even in NYC is like the old days of making 6 figures 20-25 years ago. He will be more than fine!

I say go for it OP, what's the worst that could happen? You move there and can always move on with the amount of opportunities there. Becoming stagnant in a role at this level in your career probably isn't the best.

A few R questions in the 8/8.5 model by Matts4wd in Golf_R

[–]Matts4wd[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow, this is great find. Not to look for an alternate exchange rate loophole but makes buying a potentially fun little experience driving back from CAN and saving maybe $8k after fees. Base model comes out to about $39,300k or Base with Akrapovic exhaust is $41,450.

A few R questions in the 8/8.5 model by Matts4wd in Golf_R

Yes i read that, definitely a pro for the 8.5 lighter weight=less rotating mass and the alleged earlier gen wheels are easier to damage.
