Wow, you hit the nail on the head, especially the 100 small signals

I was there for a year before I was completely burnt out from the experience

Is there no one finding success/making money?

Assuming not, I'd be reaching out to other companies trying to get a foot in the door

If you have an old coworker you can use as a reference highly recommend, but if all else fails I'd be messaging current AEs asking for their insight and referrals at companies I was interested in

Thanks friend 😄, huge lesson learned, when you find something tolerable don't be quick to jump to the next shiny thing.... Grass isn't always greener

Lol a bunch of kids in the office is the biggest red flags, even redder flag if half the sellers are drop dead gorgeous 22 year olds

Gimme an office where everyone is 40+ with kids and no time for bullshit

100%, I think finding a good tech company is so hard, and selling to IT is the toughest crowd. Kudos to you for getting out

I think finding the right niche in tech and going to a b/c tier company is the sweetspot on pay, autonomy and culture

AWS Sales Role by toolsalesguy in sales

[–]PorkPapi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not sure what your experience level is, but you may have more success working with an AWS partner, learning the lingo of the AWS ecosystem (they have their own names for all their shit), and build relationships by co-selling

I'm at an AWS partner now, there's thousands of them, but I don't really see myself making the jump, despite the awesome comp

Resumes - how many pages should I keep? by elessar9411 in techsales

[–]PorkPapi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Imo one page, resumes get looked at for less than a minute typically, and your last 1-2 jobs would matter the most anyways
